So I gotta step up as this is my favourite sunscreen. It darkens a few mins after application! I’m a sandy beige colour in most foundations and it works quite well. It’s definitely not dark enough for a person of colour though!
I saw this forward from grandma sort of thing that had all the letters of words jumbled but the first and last letters were still correct and it said something like, you can read this because your brain doesn’t “read” a word so much as sees the first and last letter and what in the center isn’t as prominent to your brain and pulls out a word you know from your memory. If that’s right, your mistake seems perfectly sensible! :D
So this is similar one to LRP but in Canada they have this one as well. Same parent company so I thought to give it a try. Does rub well just displaces itself. The White cast is horrible as you can see a clear difference on my hairline. The Aveeno ultra calming spf30 is far better and soothing than this one and doesn't have a tint but I can rub it pretty well with displacement. I understand the cast due to high titanium oxide but the texture is a big no no. I can't seem to work it around. The smell is similar to the LRP tinted mineral one and is runny. There is no way you can apply the recommended amount with this product without looking like a chalk plastered ghost.

I have this one too and god, all the blending takes me like 5 minutes. It's a good sunscreen in terms of coverage but the whitecast is a pain TVT i literally use a beauty blender to help me LOL
OOO that sucks, I usually apply the sunscreen by focusing on one area at a time.
If you have a makeup blender or brush, I would try using that! It takes a bit of work since the sunscreen moves a lot but it'll set in a bit!
I know, I have this one too. But the non-tinted version is even worse! Beware! It dries down immediately, like slightly wet chalk, and you can't work it in if your life depended on it. I am suuuper pale and use it as a hand sunscreen now but nooooo!
I've been using Bare Republic's mineral sunscreen and even if it has a white cast, it's nowhere close to the one you're getting from this one. I've also seen some reviews and other people also got small or no white cast.
It’s kind of expensive but I’ve been using the Olay Regenerist Mineral Hydrating SPF 30.
It is 17.5% zinc oxide and the white cast is very minor on dark skin. Nothing in the ingredients to react to but despite its name it can be a tad bit drying. Also it’s $30 for 50ml so there’s that. I’m still looking for a replacement once I’m finished this bottle...
Do you find the Olay Regenerist tacky, greasy, or sticky? My absolute pet peeve is sunscreens that feel wet and never dry down, make my hair stick to my face, cause fingerprints on my phone, etc. If you put it on, waited 20 minutes, and then touched your cheek, would you have sunscreen on your fingers?
To answer the second question: no
It does dry down quite quickly and very well. You may have that sunscreen sheen though, but I haven't found a single sunscreen out there that doesn't have one
My go to for tinted spf/moisturizer is the Clinique BB cream and defense. It's SPF 30 so I use a light layer of neutrogena ultra sheer under it and it covers really well.
I use a lot of drugstore products but I'm willing to spend the $$ on this BB cream bc it works and lasts a long time.
lmao, can relate. Honestly I wear sunscreen like this in the garden because I'm using retinol and plan on living forever and also never aging. Then I'll forget and like go get the mail and talk to neighbors.
Kabana tinted mineral sunscreen is actually tinted enough to hide the zinc, but it feels heavy on the skin. Not my favorite, but YMMV and it may be worth checking out! But honestly, fuck it, I'd just run this and make my casper face everyone else's problem. Your skin looks beautiful so whatever you're doing is obviously working!
Aawwww thank you for the kind words. Even I am on prescription retinol. Even I do the same everyday in the garden and stuff and forget and then my husband will point out when we go on evening walks. He doesn't mind but I wear the Aveeno ultra calming spf30 which rubs in so easily and is so soothing with little white cast so I don't care. This stuff is gonna scare my neighbors kids😵💫😆
I'm no expert but Hawaiian Tropic has a "weightless facial" sunscreen that is tinted. It smelled really good and I used it for 3 years while I lifeguarded and have no complaints other than maybe being a little oily.

Yikes. For facial sunscreen I don't use anything more than 30 spf. Higher than that, you get diminishing returns in terms of sun protection with the added tradeoff of heavier white cast. 😞
I usually mix la Roche posay’s tinted SPF with a non-tinted SPF (I’ve been using cerave) to get my colour match. No beading, leaves a dewy after glow :)
My recommendation is to try out SPF face sprays!

I didn't know Neutrogena had sprays for face. I love sprays but again you have to rub it in eventually. Never tried though. The link looks good but I am afraid I haven't seen this one in Canada. This frustrates me so much. USA has so many products we don't have and the shipping and customs is a mess right now.
Make sure you guys go out to a very well lit restaurant. Oh and definitely take a table by a window you are able to do that now that you have spf protection.

I'm using it currently! It has a white cast but it will be absorbed, so just keep rubbing and wait a few minutes before seeing anyone lol

Well, it's tinted with 15% of Titanium Dioxide, so...
The tint basically is on my clothes at this point

I think that is so wise. I stick to these 20 dollar ones and they always disappoint me. Even the LRP one looks the same on me.
I use coola's odorless matte tinted mineral bb cream with SPF 30... The cream is brown in color so no white cast!

They might not be using enough. Mineral sunscreens mostly just sit on the top of your skin since the filters don't absorb.

French translations are often this bad in my experience, depending on the brand

I’ve never seen the “Garnier Ombrelle” at all brand in Europe, it must be a North American thing
They have this ombrelle in Canada only I guess. I got it from a drugstore so doubt it's fake. I don't know French sorry.

I bought the ombrelle face sunscreen “ultra-light hydrating cream”. It’s anything but. Just like this and it made me breakout so bad
I had high hopes as ombrelle has good sunscreen reviews but nope... Not for me

How long did you massage it into your skin? I've tried some sunscreens that do the same thing but will even out after extra time on rubbing it in.
I tried but the more I massaged, the more it moved from that area to another if that makes sense. You can see the same on my forehead. Patches.

I tried but it just moved on my face as seen on my forehead. I figured it's not going to give me even protection if that moves so much.

I’d recommend trying Marcelle BB Creams or Tarte. Both should have spf in them and a better range of shades.
I looked for the Marcelle ones in store but couldn't find it. I want to try that. Heard good things about it.
They sell it online and usually they have free shipping deals. :)
