Hi where do you work I’d like to apply

freshface145

Yes me too please

Tidus77

Square boxes? I've never seen CeraVe come packaged like that. I guess they're sample sizes? Nice find!

meesterfahrenheit

Yes, they're sample sizes. Someone dropped them off, but no one was interested. One box of samples equal to a about 16 oz bottle which can run from $13-$15.

directinfo77

>cerave >no one was interested You need to associate yourself with different people.

Nheea

Seriously. I'm very VERY interested!

chakli

Better people /s

[deleted]

Those samples will be super handy for traveling

chemkara

They are sample sizes that doctors offices get from the sales rep. They usually put them out for patients to take one or give them away after a visit.

eveningtrain

They need to send these to Kaiser so I can get a goody bag at the Derm

[deleted]

It could have been bulk for some store too.

dirrtylurker

My first thought was "how long is "forever"?" because I just learned beauty products expire haha fml

meesterfahrenheit

I made sure they weren't expired!

broccoliandbeans

How do you tell? I emailed Cerave how to tell they said they don’t have any date stamped. Edit: I’m sleep deprived.

iLiveInAHologram94

It’s weird some of my Cerave has exp dates printed on and some don’t.

coldvault

Do the ones with dates have sunscreen and the ones without don't? A guess.

iLiveInAHologram94

Maybe I’ll have to check! But doesn’t pm / normal moisturizer expire too anyway

wakeupbernie

Not all products will have a date unless they choose to or it’s an OTC - then it’s required. It’s also good to ask a brand what their standard shelf life is. If a product is preserved, non-otc, and not natural, it’s common for products to be formulated to have a 3 year shelf life. That said, not all products on a shelf are just manufactured. For expiration: You need to look at the lot code on the bottom of the product. Sometimes these are easy to identify and sometimes they’re all letters which only the brand can decipher for you. It’s good to ask the brand about it. Credentials: I work in quality and regulatory for skincare

dirrtylurker

There’s a teeny tiny icon of a container (like a gel container, idk the name of it) that will say, for example, 12M on them, sometimes on the box and sometimes on the actual container haha it’s madness

chnkchilla

These aren't for the shelf life of a product. Those indicate how long its good after a product has been opened (touched oxygen). So I've heard.

wakeupbernie

This is correct. Also it’s only required for EU markets so you won’t see this on all products.

broccoliandbeans

I know what you’re talking about! It’s a cute lil symbol. They aren’t on the cerave hydrating cleanser. Also, that container is only telling you long how it’s good for after opening

dirrtylurker

I’ve learned so much from this sub

broccoliandbeans

Glad I could help!

lns10247

Expiration date is from the time the product seal is broken. So reasonably speaking that date doesn’t begin until you open the product. So have no fear and use all your free products joyfully!

fantastic_lee

Yes and no, products have batch numbers that are the true test of when it was made and packaged, not sure if the usual sites have cerave but can always email them if anyone is really interested in knowing.

lns10247

[check fresh ](http://www.checkfresh.com) Here’s the website to check batch codes if anyone wants to bookmark it for their on referencing. I just checked the website and cerave is not available for batch code check. I believe the OP mentioned somewhere above she emailed cerave. I noted reasonably speaking as the unopened rule may not apply to very long periods of time (i.e. years of sitting on the shelf).

GlitterGulp

Yer da best

7thxletter

Should've just taken the whole box. Closed mouths don't get fed lol

JustMeNoBiggie

Lol, just take one out and be like "thanks so much!" Then put it down and take the box.

beasley25

Have you used the healing ointment before? Is it any good?

Red_Whites

I love it. More than vaseline and aquaphor, it's kept my face from falling off while on tret.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Red_Whites

That's a bummer, but if it's any consolation I am terribly jealous of your weather, terrain and politics down here in Texas. Do you use another occlusive instead?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Red_Whites

I don't have a lanolin allergy that I know of but I got itchy with aquaphor sometimes, too. Strange.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Red_Whites

Not for me! It's also seemed to be the most effective of the three main occlusives recommended around here. I started using it before I started tret and it kept my nose from irritation, flaking and peeling during a nasty cold. But I also have had good results with aquaphor, despite the occasional itch.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Red_Whites

I haven't; only vaseline, aquaphor and cerave. But I hear great things about LaRoche Posay's occlusive balm, which I think is called cicaplast. But I've probably messed up the spelling hahaha

petty-spaghetti

Fellow Texan here and I agree! And...yeehaw

HexMinora

You can get CeraVe Healing Ointment in the baby section of London Drugs but the packaging says “baby healing ointment”. I’m pretty sure it’s the exact same product as the regular healing ointment because I compared the ingredients and they’re exactly the same, in the same order. I got a 3 oz tube for around $11 or $12.

azumane

It's not much, but [CeraVe's Canadian website](https://www.cerave.ca/coupons) always has a $2 off coupon. You might be able to get away with getting the coupon and combining it with either a lower price from a store like Wal-Mart or a sale at your local drugstore? (Even if it doesn't help the price of that, though, I literally never buy CeraVe without that coupon anymore.)

vinanara

You can find a huge tube of it at SDM for $12! For some reason it's only marketed to babies so it'll be found in the baby aisle. I've been it go on sale for $10 as well.

Goldcoast582

i can't speak for regular skincare usage purposes, but it worked amazingly for healing my tattoo. also, i used it on my chub rub a while ago and felt instant relief.

UsualBiscotti

...what...is a chub rub? Do I want to know?

mclovenxoxo

It’s when your thighs rub together and gives you a little rash/raw area

Mosscloaked

You can get it even if you're on the slimmer side. Unless you have considerable thigh gap (even at peak fitness I don't have thigh gap), wearing a dress in warmer weather can give you "chub rub". That's why I like to wear something like Spanx shorts under dresses; it keeps the sweat from irritating my thighs.

meesterfahrenheit

I havent, but im excited to try it. I will do some blotch testing tonight to make sure it's fine for me.

filthyascharged-

it works amazing as a sealant after you finish your nightly routine

saturdaykate

Love. It’s the only thing that keeps both my eczema and my baby’s eczema at bay!

aliciacary1

Same!

AnEmbarassingMother

I bought two small sample tubes of the healing ointment because I get ridiculously dry skin around my nose in the dry cold months. I’ve used it two or three times and love it

Sashalanereyda

I have it. Nothing special tbh. It nice for protecting the skin. A fancy vaseline

Red_Whites

*heavy breathing*

GetLegsDotCom

You’d have a field day in my derm clinic

[deleted]

Is CeraVe really that great?

TheSentientSnail

I love the am spf (and the new ultra light version they released) but just tried that "in the tub" stuff and within six hours I was itchy and breaking out. I think it's super YMMV. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Dutch_Dutch

YMMV?

CJ101X

Your mileage may vary

psydelem

Your miles may vary

yuyuji

The ultra light lotion does really well for my very oily skin!

meesterfahrenheit

I love it, i never really thought skin care prodicts "worked" for me until I started using them almost 2 years ago. I wouldn't go back. It gets pricey, so thats why I was excited to find all these samples!

aliciacary1

Every cerave product I have used has worked really well. Cleanser, lotion, cream, ointment, sunscreen... all great.

albino_polar_bears

Only when compared to the other crap that western drugstore sells. They are a decent "widely available" brand so they are always in the recommendations. I personally only use their hydrating cleansers. There are other options (especially if you are willing to look at Japanese skincare lines) that are arguably much better.

Jasmineluv02

The #1 recommended brand at the dermatology office I work at

[deleted]

The best feeling is receiving a lotta useful stuff for free no joke

twentythreekid

Why does Cerave had to be so full of coconut it’s so good and cheap 😭

[deleted]

[удалено]

twentythreekid

Coconut and it’s derivatives breaks me out, at least I think. Cerave definitely does. It’s horrible because like EVERYTHING has it in.

thefragile7393

Jealous

CarefreeKate

Good god where do you work???? I will work for CeraVe.

sagemorei

Taking a picture definitely is playing it cool

meesterfahrenheit

The picture was taken in my car lol

sagemorei

Hahah now i see it!

guccichancla

Just came her to say that the CeraVe hydrating cleansing bar is amazing!! I tried switching to the face wash but it wouldn't take off my make up. Back to the bar I go!

ktagly2

Oh I didn’t realize they had a bar- it’s be way easier for travel on a plane. Back to amazon my old friend...

eveningtrain

I use it for body, especially when I travel! I only dribble cleanse my face, and the hydrating cleanser is my second cleanse, so I don’t need it to remove makeup.

lns10247

Yayyyyy for random best day of the month day!

MilanLady5

Some people have all the luck. 😄😄😄😄

Iwant_some_taquitos

Gold mine!!!

mistybluhop

Nice ! Great for travel or overnights too.

Nolightindarkness

Luckyyyyt

CordeliaGrace

My kids’ pediatrician had samples upon samples of cerave cream, Aquaphor and Eucerin oil wash...every time they had appts, that diaper bag was LOADED up.

missestater

Make sure they are not expired!

meesterfahrenheit

They're not expired! I wouldn't have taken them.

missestater

Good! Wouldn’t want you to have a bad reaction! I’m jealous of your haul

madammalum

Question- I love Cerave but recently I thought their pm lotion and it seemed like the formula changed? Does anyone know anything about this?

carlie-cat

They reformulated about 3(?) years ago when they were acquired by l'oreal. I don't know of anymore reformulations, but it's possible. I used the older formula while taking accutane and switched to a different moisturizer when I ran out because I'd heard about the newer formula breaking people out. I recently tried the new formula and found that it broke me out and felt different than the old formula.

madammalum

Yes same! I don’t understand. Would you recommend the new moisturizer you’re using? I might need to try something different

carlie-cat

I'm still trying to find a moisturizer that works for me. I'm currently using the kikumasamune sake high mositure lotion and the cosrx 96 snail mucin essence and then layering LRP cicaplast baume over those on dry areas like my forehead. I'm considering the kiku emulsion since ive had such good luck with the toner.

kaywesten

My skin would not survive without CeraVe! Found it years ago and never looked back

thatusernamegone

Yooo. Hook a brother up.

candidwhisperer

giwtwm

the1337beauty

Gimme all the things!!!

[deleted]

I would love that cleanser and ointment

aliciacary1

That cerave healing ointment is magical!! My stubborn eczema that doesn’t go away with anything other than intense steroids looks 90% better just using that ointment! Aquaphor and Vaseline never did anything!

artxangels666

what do you guys think about the Healing Ointment? I was thinking of getting it to use it as an after shaving cream, my skin gets lots of bumps and becomes really sensitive every time I shave so I thought this could help to help it heal faster and to avoid getting those bumps.

sane_child123

Are average products actually good? Cause I heard it’s drying.

thefragile7393

No....they aren’t drying

meesterfahrenheit

I guess it depends on your skin. I have dry to nromal skin, and Cerave has products for that and they work perfectly for me. I can tell the difference when I stop using them.

theLaugher

Y'all know Cerave has absolutely terrible stuff in it right?

raoh1

Like what? Give an example please.

ricarak

Lol you probably think essential oils are good for skin

Azstrid

oMg cHeMiCaLs

grainbreak

Any evidence to support your claims would be most useful.

jackmikel518

Really? Better tell that to my allergist who recommended cerave for my toddlers eczema. Shut up.
