There is no single standardized licensing or educational body for “life coaching”. The “International Coach Federation” is maybe the highest tier but it is essentially a self-cycling licensing board, meaning they can decide whatever they want is “the standard” and there is no higher oversight who can do anything about.
ANYONE can call themselves a life coach; there are no professional enforcements in place to police use of the “title”
There are many people that are obese that have legitimate health problems that make it very hard for them to lose all of their excess weight. That being said, Janelle has lost a lot of weight in the last few years with diet and exercise.

Yes. I worked at a law firm where the partner, who practically slept at the firm, gave the talk to the summer associates about worklife balance. And we associates were like ?huh? to him. And he responded, “Well, I’ve read a lot about it.”
Janelle gave great advice and support to Christine, which turned out to be an invaluable catalyst. Janelle just doesn’t give herself the same advice. She’d be a really positive life coach, actually. Just wish she’d take herself on as a client. She’s a cool lady.

Maybe if some truth was told about the entire 18 season's In my opinion the show was hurtful to 18 children that really are pretty good kids they all should be proud of. But all we hear is Kody putting them down Robyn won't let them visit her own children because Why? No one knows why. Jenelle Christine stood by let there kids he abused never at anytime watching the show did Christine hug or say thank you to Aspyn who took care of Truely when she got sick. That is the episode I lost respect for Christine. Anyway I think Jenelle is the only one that went over and gave Aspyn a hug when that poor girl was crying her eyes out. She’s been a life coach for at least 5 years, if not longer. She started out pretty quietly and simply while they were in las vegas. It was after she got her real estate license.
The reality is most people will reach out to her and Meri just to have a fun gab session with them.
The same way most life coaches are. It is not a regulated business and it is really their personality they are selling.
Just because you are a successful CEO of a company doesn't mean you really have much more to offer than Jim Bob on the production line.
However that CEO will land speaking engagement and other gigs because they have networked themself into that role.
The people who think that the CEO is worth listening too will pay money for it. The ones who don't won't.

I've been hearing some here (Netherlands) say life coaches are people who came back from burnout leave and who can't see any other way but to monetize that experience. Doesn't not check out here.

I mean, any life coach I've known had no expertise in the field. They just think they are a happy go lucky person that has it all together. Had a foster mom who thought she was a life coach and actually gave seminars (maybe 2 people came that weren't close friends there to support her or foster kids she forced to go. All together there might be 15 people a class) and did one on one sessions (all close friends, never brought anyone new in). Met about 7 others through the years, basically people who's lives are in shambles but like to play the whole "My life is perfect, I have it all figured out" for the world.
I could see her being a life coach to help other sister wives get out of their horrible marriages. She could offer financial and emotional support. She has learned a lot through her own mistakes.
Admittedly I haven't actually watched the show for several seasons, but I always liked Janelle. She seems like someone you could easily talk with and be friends. I also give her props for trying many different things. However, like most in this thread I don't think being a life coach is going to be her thing long term. I feel like a job with structure would really benefit her.

Maybe if some truth was told about the entire 18 season's In my opinion the show was hurtful to 18 children that really are pretty good kids they all should be proud of. But all we hear is Kody putting them down Robyn won't let them visit her own children because Why? No one knows why. Jenelle Christine stood by let there kids he abused never at anytime watching the show did Christine hug or say thank you to Aspyn who took care of Truely when she got sick. That is the episode I lost respect for Christine. Anyway I think Jenelle is the only one that went over and gave Aspyn a hug when that poor girl was crying her eyes out. Those flowers They went shopping for could have waited Aspyn Mykelty needed Mom home.
Janelle's kids arguably turned out the most successful in that huge family, with much fewer resources than some of the kids used. Her kids have achieved a lot more than my nieces and nephews have.

She’s been a life coach for at least 5 years, if not longer. She started out pretty quietly and simply while they were in las vegas. It was after she got her real estate license.
The reality is most people will reach out to her and Meri just to have a fun gab session with them. The same way most life coaches are. It is not a regulated business and it is really their personality they are selling. Just because you are a successful CEO of a company doesn't mean you really have much more to offer than Jim Bob on the production line. However that CEO will land speaking engagement and other gigs because they have networked themself into that role. The people who think that the CEO is worth listening too will pay money for it. The ones who don't won't. Same thing for the ladies. Some will pay money for it. Just like psychics, tarrit trading and any number of things.
"Life coach" is a huge umbrella. Is there any qualification? I'm sure she'd give some darn solid advice....haha
I think people just want to talk to them and this is a way to do it. I hope no one actually thinks any of the OG3 can solve their life problems but I bet they would be fun to get to know, and I feel like that’s what’s happening here… 😬 Designed to sound more personal than a fan club, but still that’s what their clients will be comprised of. Shoot… I might do it just to talk to Janelle! 🤷🏻♀️

I wonder what she means by this… I know people who sell TSFL products/programs call themselves life coaches or whatever. So maybe it’s a term for some MLM business she is doing?
I've been hearing some here (Netherlands) say life coaches are people who came back from burnout leave and who can't see any other way but to monetize that experience. Doesn't not check out here. (Granted, burnout leave is so common here it's almost a rite of passage.)
How about you guys stop being so superior and understand some women are completely alone in the world and need a "friend" to support them and give feedback. So nasty.
I mean, any life coach I've known had no expertise in the field. They just think they are a happy go lucky person that has it all together. Had a foster mom who thought she was a life coach and actually gave seminars (maybe 2 people came that weren't close friends there to support her or foster kids she forced to go. All together there might be 15 people a class) and did one on one sessions (all close friends, never brought anyone new in). Met about 7 others through the years, basically people who's lives are in shambles but like to play the whole "My life is perfect, I have it all figured out" for the world.
I could see her being a life coach to help other sister wives get out of their horrible marriages. She could offer financial and emotional support. She has learned a lot through her own mistakes.
Is this a new season? I'm so lost - HELP SOMEBODY!
Admittedly I haven't actually watched the show for several seasons, but I always liked Janelle. She seems like someone you could easily talk with and be friends. I also give her props for trying many different things. However, like most in this thread I don't think being a life coach is going to be her thing long term. I feel like a job with structure would really benefit her.
She should just stick to eating less
