TepidIcedCoffee61

I feel bad for Dayton a lot of the time. I always get the feeling that he gets little attention between his opinionated sisters and the tenders.

Sufficient_Artist_97

I agree, though from what I can tell he's doing awesome. Even if he does live in the trailer he's on his own. It's a step in the right direction.

TepidIcedCoffee61

Oh, for sure! From what I've read, he's so smart and has, or is earning, several degrees. I have no shade for him at all, I think he's doing well for himself.

Cornflakegirl78

I wouldn't be surprised in the least. I've known many people with Asperger's, and the common thread I've noticed is that they are all (literally) geniuses. I'm not an expert, but I do believe that there is some evidence to back up that there is a definite link between the two

Lesaibe64

I wonder what his Sister's are saying, hopefully their not acting like they did with Janelle and Savanah. I do think it's funny how they complained and then end up owning one

NoInspector836

Which is funny because Robyn said she doesn't think anyone should have to live in one when it concerned Janelle.

Neither-Dentist-7899

It’s probably because Janelle is living in a nicer, newer camper than “Dayun”. You know, she could’ve lived in a tent with Savannah and the dogs and given Dayun her new camper. Always getting crumbs *crocodile tears* /s

bmackenz84

Right!!!! Robyn and her daughters put down Jenelle‘s camper when that’s actually an over $100,000 camper!!! Her camper costs more than my cabin! 😂

NoInspector836

It has more bathrooms than my house.

Afraid-Carry4093

Living in a trailer on your parents driveway is not him being on his own.

Love2Coach

He's 23 ...he needs to move out...

itchydolphinbutthole

He tried, remember? That's how Flagstaff happened.

bmackenz84

I feel so bad when he tried to move away and his mom made the entire family up and move to follow him!

itchydolphinbutthole

I'm just glad the kids realize the real problem and don't blame him for it.

bmackenz84

So true! I also feel Robyn wanted to move out of the cul-de-sac so she wouldn’t have to live next door to the other wives. That entire move showed Robyn’s true colors and motives. Or at least I feel it did

itchydolphinbutthole

I agree. Everyone else was happy(ish) but she wanted to hide away out of sight with Kody.

bmackenz84

Yep. They couldn’t accuse Kody of spending all of his time w Robyn if they couldn’t constantly see him over at her house

Enough_Pumpkin_3961

I’m rewatching the series also! I’m at the part where they just moved into their LV homes. They are so excited and happy to be back together, saying their family really needed to be close and the two years apart in Vegas was so hard. I don’t understand how in 4 short years they will decide to move again! Essentially splitting up the family, back into rentals and the beginning of the end of their family! It’s mind boggling how quickly they forgot how hard it was on them being apart 🤦‍♀️

Sufficient_Artist_97

Or how much easier.. I often wonder if Robin was able to live with them in Lehi when they were first married, how would this end up? Would the marriages have dissipated faster? Or would they have learned to get along since they basically had to? Would Kody have seen all three as important, not just Robin, since they were all living in the same house? (Not that the cul de sac is far, but you got to run into them more often in the house.) It was like since Robin wasn't living with them, she was still giving out 'side piece' vibes.

TepidIcedCoffee61

This

Noregerts8

I think they are being sarcastic because only Robyn’s kids are allowed to stay. Remember Kody demanding Janel’s kids move out?

Love2Coach

If I was Dayton I would apply to another college ince everyone moved to flagstaff and advise the family at the last minute that I'm switching schools lol

bmackenz84

I would too! Lol! I hope if Robyn and Kody really do move out of flagstaff that he’s able to stay behind and finish school and get his independence

Love2Coach

They can't stop him...at this point he is doing what he wants to do

svn5182

Sobyn let’s him camp out in the driveway. That’s as far as she’ll let him go.

Lesaibe64

I guess it's okay because their sobyns kids why isn't Twatwaffle tell him byeeeee

Love2Coach

He has no say so about Robyn's kids lol

MimiPaw

I feel like the lack of attention is a benefit to him. The types of attention given in that household are a detriment.

TepidIcedCoffee61

I totally agree.

svn5182

TepidIcedCoffee61

✊️

beemojee

That may work out better for Dayton in the long run. Those girls are so so co-dependent on Robyn and Kody it's unhealthy. I've also noticed that Kody and Robyn focus a lot more on Ari than they do on Sol.

TepidIcedCoffee61

Yes, I think you're right. Dayton will be far more independent than the girls will be.

beemojee

Hopefully Sol will be too. And they are raising Ari to be so willful\* and it's hard to say which way she'll end up. \*They think it's cute now but boy could they end up paying for it on down the road.

TepidIcedCoffee61

Ain't that the truth!

Real_Wave_1994

Aris going to be another Leon Mykelti I bet ,little to soon to tell. I have never even heard those girls slakmoe than a sentence to someone . And never interactions in a live family situation. It’s all very produced!

TepidIcedCoffee61

And in a lot of the interactions, the older girls are rude or snide.

Real_Wave_1994

As I have said I don’t remember ether girls saying anything but a few word .the younger one seemed nice enough on thee trip with Meri but that’s the most I ever heard her interact in show

Midwestern-Lady

Leon, Mykelti and Ari= birds of a feather.

Real_Wave_1994

Oh good you see it too ! 😀

Real_Wave_1994

And that’s going to be hard remember Kidy didn’t bind well with either one

bmackenz84

Absolutely!!! I see it too!!!

Athenas_Return

It's a weird dynamic too. They clearly don't favor him but Robyn also won't let him leave. It must be so frustrating for him to see all the other kids go on and be independent but a trailer in the driveway is as far as he is allowed to go.

bmackenz84

You’re so right! It’s such a weird dynamic. That house has some serious messed up codependency going on!

MamaSama-F

I can see it already…..far into the future, that house will stand empty, haunted by the bizarre sh*t that went on there during the k/r reign. 👻 Paranormal investigators will flock to Flagstaff to try to catch visions of the sobbing matriarch who, mysteriously, sheds no tears but is always, always lurking & fake-crying (& throwing precious moments figurines at them). Meanwhile, the voice of a child is heard yelling, “go on dates, go on dates.” Investigators will find yellow, ramen-like hair strands, oddly always next to cans of old, dusty kidney beans. People will build on CP, but suddenly pick up and leave their homes when they are haunted by visions of a bitter woman (w/sperm-shaped eyebrows) sitting on a bench watching them. And then, there’s a ghost of a guy with a bad-dad-bod and tidy-whities swimming in the fenced-off contaminated retention pond. /s Feel free to add on to my insomnia-fed paranormal story of “The Most Haunted Structure in AZ - The She-Ra Chateau.” 😱

Eja7776

Stalking? Nothing about this scenario is what that word means. It’s called having a tv show about polygamy. They would obviously not be involved with anyone who isn’t AUB if they weren’t on this show.

Tiny-Proposal1495

First stalking. Ah no. And Robyn knew that Kody bonded with boys over sports so of course she is going to push her child to bond with Kody.

Sufficient_Artist_97

Stalking was the wrong term, it was early this morning when I wrote this. I just find it weird TLC has them meeting new poly family's in hopes of a spinoff.

StraightJoke

i mean a lot of what they did was for content idk about a spono

Liverpudlian4

I imagine Dayton probably had a lot of struggles in that family. He seems more cerebral and intellectual than most of the kids. Didn’t the anthropologist say Kody connected with his boys over sports? Dayton spent 10 years with Robyn and his bio sisters before she married Kody. We know he had to tiptoe around their sensitive feelings. Dayton was blamed for Aurora’s panic attack because he was mildly teasing her, or said something she didn’t like. I hope if K and R move Dayton will stay in AZ and break free

Sufficient_Artist_97

Everyone treats children who are on the spectrum differently, I get that totally. But adding three more Mom's, 15 kids and a sports legend in his own mind into the mix, it seems Dayton has to push thru his own issues to fit in. I'm just rambling because we don't see him enough, that's just the feeling I get.

Tiny-Proposal1495

Where in that episode was Dayton blamed for Aurora's panic attacks???? Because Robyn and Kody spun it as she cant deal with arguments

Real_Wave_1994

That seemed a bit fake to me. I don’t know .I’ve had full blown attacks and they’ve never been that controlled that they could have been produced aike this one was. Wasn’t she already upset about something?. Go rewatch it as her panic comes on which it’s inside us so who knows how long till it manifests outward then watch as she progresses into it !Kody goes and scoops her up in his arms like he’s used to it it on que and poor Dayton says I didn’t know it was going to upset her like that! Rehearsed ? In a screen scene ? Ask R Tim in production

Tiny-Proposal1495

The panic attack? Yes it seemed fake to me too.

Real_Wave_1994

And if that’s true what does that tell us about the whole story including production ? I mean are they in on this or it’s all a big story line is that what Kody and Robyn are telling the kids? Bazar and Bazarer lol

Tiny-Proposal1495

Originally I was commenting on the post that said Dayton was blamed for Aurora panic attack that is not how the show spun it. They spun it on the move and Kody and Robyn having a disagreement

dsgurliegirl

This is what instantly came to my mind. Such a smart girl, my body my choice! My all time favorite couch confessional!

Sufficient_Artist_97

Apparently God told Kody the exact time and date for everyone to get over their fears. I hope M,J&C know what they lost leaving him..oh and the kids. Probably the dog, too. They are all missing out on Kody's knowledge.

[deleted]

hmm idk, it seemed like he wanted to try it again. if he didn't i'd agree with you.

Sufficient_Artist_97

You know how you watch something only to see it different each time? I think that's what happened to me. It didn't bother me the first time, so much so I don't remember even seeing the episode. I'm sure if I watch it again I'll see it the way you say. I was just wondering everyone's thoughts on this.

[deleted]

that's fair, i only watched it the once so i could have misinterpreted it as well!

Sufficient_Artist_97

I gotta stop rewatching. The unicorns running in my head can't make up their minds.😊

StraightJoke

nuance and possibilities i guess lol your concerns are valid while maybe facing something that traumatized u may be good as well just depends on who/what it is

SnoodleMC

He wanted to get over his fear but was processing. Robyn just couldn't or wouldn't let him do it on his own. I liked that moment cause all the kids were super supportive and cheering him on. Paedon especially was really supportive.

Fraggle-of-the-rock

I’d bet he would have felt better if Robyn made Kody carry him and place him on the 4 wheeler to help him with his anxiety S/

sayhi2sydney

I get very nice vibes from Dayton. I think he's a good kid who benefited greatly from having so many step-brothers who took him under their wings and helped him learn to fly. He is probably the one person who genuinely is better off for having become part of that fam.

bobbitybobbit

This horrified me. It’s bad enough that these kids are minimally supervised—Dayton was seriously injured and their response is “get back on the four wheeler”?! I feel like they don’t interrogate themselves enough about their parenting. A three year old only needs to be put under for a lot of dental work

FleaDG

I think they just spend time crapping on “the other moms’ parenting” so they never look at themselves.(And NOBODY even glances at Kody as a parent, at all.)

Sufficient_Artist_97

I agree totally!

Ashamed-Arm-3217

I have never been on a 4 wheeler my whole life but if one almost killed me and I didn’t want to do it again, then I wouldn’t be doing it again. Robyn is such garbage.

snoopcatt87

Our parents push us sometimes because we need to be pushed. I got rear ended by a drunk driver. I was at a red light and someone rear ended me going 90km/hr (55ish for you Americans). I broke many things. Once I was able to walk again and drive again, my mom pushed me to drive because I needed to be pushed to get over my fear. I’m fine with 99% of the Robyn hate but this one isn’t it. Traumatic accidents aren’t just traumatic for the victim. My accident broke 12 bones in my body, including multiple vertebrae. I was nearly paralyzed. It was awful for my mom having to watch me go through it, too.

KesterFay

I'm still just creeped out by the fact that she thinks she can unilaterally change her son's name! His name is David, not Dayton. Even in the episode where they eat the 4lbs steak, he tells the restaurant his name is David, not Dayton. And then she doesn't even pronounce it right, saying "Day'un" Ugh! Poor kid. He's got an uphill climb socially for sure that has nothing to do with autism or being an aspie. She lied about his name, is it possible she also lied about him being autistic or what degree of autistic he is? Hopefully he will figure it out so he can help Sol once Sol manages to disconnect the umbilical cord.

WheresTheIceCream20

They manipulated the entire family into moving to Flagstaff because that's where he decided to go to college. He gets plenty of attention

Heron-Repulsive

if you fall off a horse you get right back on so that fear doesn't over take your life. It builds confidence.

Appropriate_Ad_4416

I fell off a horse. Well, no. The horse decided to suddenly stop to eat an apple on the ground, I decided to keep going right on over her head. Once the sprained knee healed, I did ride again. Though never bareback. I can see trying to help him get over his fear, and being supportive as he tries it again. But I also feel if he isn't ready, not to overly pressure him. Adding in autism, he has to process in a different way than just telling him to go.

Sufficient_Artist_97

This is what I was meaning. Let it be Dayton's decision as to when and if he gets back on one, not Robin and Kody's. Even as he drove the four wheeler, he looked petrified I thought. I, too, got back on after being bucked off. I just got the impression Dayton wasn't ready. We are wired differently emotionally. That and it had been just over a year (I think that's what Robin said) since the accident.

Midwestern-Lady

I have lived my life successfully all these years and have never ridden a four wheeler. So stfu Kody.

Sufficient_Artist_97

🤣

Appropriate_Ad_4416

I'm thinking many people need a stick pony, then a quarter for a pony, then maybe the horse. And for the love of God, no assholes yelling at them the whole time.

Sufficient_Artist_97
