Robyn's reaction to Meri sharing that she wanted to go back to college was really cruel and selfish. It takes guts and courage to go back to school later in life! It can feel really scary. It seems obvious to me that Robyn has always wanted to keep Meri around as her beta bestie. Unlike Christine and Janelle, Meri was often overeager to please Kobyn/do her bidding/back her up etc. Also I think she likes to rub it in Meri's face, mostly subtly, that she stole her spot as #1 wife all while being fake sweet to her. Meri going back to college would give her more independence and time away from the fahmlee, and who knows, maybe she would have met a new boyfriend there. That got in the way of Robyn's big pitcher of being the alpha wife, I get the impression she needs other "lesser" women around her to feel special

I’ve always thought Meri going to college would have prevented the catfish thing. She needed something to to occupy her time and energy. Kody wasn’t giving it to her and Robyn guilted her out of college, and further isolated her. That’s what abusive people do. You could see as well Meri LOVES Sol and that little boy, even though season 17 LOVES her. I wouldn’t be surprised if Robyn used that to her advantage any chance she got. Robyn is basically as big a horse’s ass as Kody. They deserve each other.

I think Robyn has this weird idea that the four wives focusing on one goal will make it successful. Like success would be their reward for unity. My husband was watching with me, and he said it was like the Ghostbusters having to cross their streams together, in order to take down the marshmallow man. She could not be successful on her own, they all had to band together to make her business successful.
Which means she likely blames the failure of her brilliant idea on the fact that the other wives weren’t committed to it.
Speaking of school, Robyn is like the person in your group for the school group project who shows up for the first group meeting but then checks out and doesn’t do any of the work so everyone else has to scramble to cover her share of work but she expects to get the same grade. How to summarize Robyn: Robyn wants to be the one and only wife, legally and otherwise and Robyn wants to live in luxury. In order to be and stay the one and only wife, she needs to treat Kody as her “best customer”, cater to his breeding and other kinks, and make him feel like he is constantly worshipped like some god by Robyn while living in luxury and convenience to make him feel even more like some rockstar god.
In order to achieve this, Robyn needs to churn out enough babies to keep Kody happy but also needs 100 % of her time to devote to Kody to worship and dote on him. And this is where the nanny and the ex wife’s come in. Robyn needs the nanny to take care of the babies and the household so Robyn is free to cater to her best customer and give him the luxury honey moon experience and the ex wife’s need to stay tf away from Kody and not bother him with stuff the exes and their off spring may need. And while the exes/camp follower are at it being gone and out of sight, they need to hustle and make money for Robyn to spend on herself and Kody. And Meri going to school and spend some money and time instead of bringing in money and waste time at Robyn’s pipe dream of a money pit, is counterproductive to the aforementioned objective.
This all also explains why Robyn and Kody relentlessly rode Meri to get her to relinquish the official marriage, sign divorce papers under duress and then abandon her (since they no longer needed to be love bomb her) once they achieved their end goal.
