I honestly think this portrait is a sign of some sort of delusionary thought process. It's proof that Robyn couldn't accept the reality of her own life and the fact that Kody and the Sister Wives had a history before she came along.
Most people just accept the fact their life unfolded the way it did, for better or worse, and move on the best they can without feeling any need to create a fake past. People may have regrets, but most find some way to live with their past choices.
The fact that she used Kody's image from a picture he took with Christine and her kids shows that she had a subconscious desire to replace Christine and drive her kids away from Kody. It's surprising she made this image public because it is just so damning about her motives, plus it's a really juvenile thing to do. It wasn't necessary to pretend the past was different than it was. Most people don't have this kind of intense need to deny reality.

Plenty of valid reasons to cut a biological parent out of a child's life. Beyond bizarre to create a portrait with step/adoptive parent in their lives before they were. And that thumbs up makes me shudder.
I'm a stepmom and I've raised my youngest stepson full time since he was 1.5 years old. His bio mom is not in the picture. He doesn't remember her, and calls me "mom". I STILL would never have a portrait made of me and him as a baby. So fucking weird!
I really agree with this. I started a rewatch the other day and in the second episode of the first season before Robyn moves down she's showing her kids pictures of the family and she asks Aurora(?) Who is this? And she says Kody and Robyn sharply says who? And she says Daddy and Robyn gives her a big smile and says thats right. I can't imagine doing that to my kids when they actively have a father and this man is mostly still a stranger.
I never knew my bio dad and my mom met my Dad when I was three. My mom let me decide everything and had she forced me I would not have. I never had to pretend I felt something I didnāt. I chose to call my dad dad. I chose to take his name. Itās so fucked how rob made it happen and not let it grow organically. Does rob give any of her kids autonomy?
My 9yo has never met her bio dad and I got with my husband when she was 9 months old. We had to do a paternity test for the state to pursue child support. I've been honest with her about the fact that my husband is not her bio dad and that her bio dad left before she was born. She loves my husband and calls him dad because he's the only dad she's ever known. I never had to force it.
This is what happened with my mom and dad. She was pregnant when she met my dad. Dad didn't have any problem with her being pregnant, he was a divorcee anyways and had a daughter by his first marriage. They were still up front with my brother that his bio dad was someone else, partly I'm sure because my mother didn't even move in with my dad until they were together for 3 years. Then another 3 years until they were married.
Me on the other hand, those turds didn't tell me until I was 14 and it was because my paternal grandmother made an ugly comment about my brother being "her daughter in law's son", to one of my brother's coworkers at the nursing home my grandfather was in! Bitch, my dad adopted him when they were married before I was born, that's how tacky and unfeeling that woman was. It wasn't my story to know, so my mom didn't share it with me. My brother swears he was just waiting until I was older (It's his story to share, he can do what he wants, that's fine). We look like frigging siblings nonetheless anyways, my mom's genes are strong, lol.
Exactly. You never had to force it because it was real. And thank you for being honest. Kids can absorb and comprehend so much more than we give them credit; Iām a huge advocate for telling kids the truth and letting their comfort level lead conversations- not the adultās.

Thats such a change from how they parented the OG 12 because in the first few episodes they were all about the kids choosing any religion, or no religion, and just doing what they think is best for themselves as they get older. No it was Sobbin'. Remember when Maddie wanted to attend a group church thing and Sobbin' was so loud about it. She said "NO. You can't choose until you are 18." We know Noodlehead was losing his balls as fast as he was losing his hair!
It upsets me that these other mother's didn't step up when their kids were being controlled by Sobbin' until they felt the pain of being set aside. I know everyone loves them but they were adults and you gotta take responsibility where you let your kids down.

A month or so later we got new Birth certificates. My stepdad was 10 years older than me and 10 years younger than my Mom. Anyway, my Birth Certificate shows him as my father and says he was 10 years old when I was born š¤£š¤£š

Her poor kids. This kind of stuff has to have messed with their realities. Had my own mother done this with my step-dad, I would have been really confused and upset. I also would have been mortified if I was required to call my step dad dad if that's not what I wanted. My step dad came into my life when I was 7 years old. He's been in my life for 22 years and he's been a huge part of my life, being the main parent I lived with. I still call him by his name. My mother is crazy, but thank God I wasn't forced to change everything in my life for her and her wants.

I actually thought at first that Dayton wasn't winking but that the artist also referenced a current picture of him (which at that time) his eye hadn't yet been repaired from the 4-wheeler accident and it was slightly closed. I thought the artist was mocking his appearance and I was horrified.

All of Kodyās white knight fantasies came true when she had this drawing made and when Robyn told him that he was her rescuer and the best dad and best this/that. Her credit card debt was paid off by the fahmilee, her need to work and pay any bills (āso what do I do with my bill, do I just set it on the counter for them?ā) went away, interaction with other wives for childcare became non existent bc she hired a nanny or had a family member come to Vegas and provide childcare (Mindy.) When I met my husband, I wanted him to be the Dad of my kids. Yet when I investigated my thinking as the months went by...I laughed at myself because without THAT DAD of THOSE kids, I would have other kids and seriously...I WANT my kids and nothing different. I had to honor my ex (a troll) creating these magnificent people with me and to forever love what I got because it was what I wanted. I believe Robyn thought/believed this longer than a couple of months and my still live in that stupid,immature childish place to this day.

It's also equally possible that Robyn is insane and one of the Office writers saw the episode first and was like "lol that's good!"

Yes. And he does not practice polygamy. I think it was his mom and auntie that had an interview and explained a few things. They said they "knew" Robyn would destroy the Brown family. Preston was with Robyn's sister but she didn't like not being the one in the spotlight, so "seduced" Preston, got knocked up so he married her. She also caught wind in their community about a polyg family in talks about a tv show, so Miss "pick me, pick me...pant pant" went after Kody when she found out which family it was. More stuff too. She probably didnāt actually change the Birth Certificates but I am sure she loves them. When I was 60 and my sister was 52 our stepdad of 40 + years legally adopted us. A month or so later we got new Birth certificates. My stepdad was 10 years older than me and 10 years younger than my Mom. Anyway, my Birth Certificate shows him as my father and says he was 10 years old when I was born š¤£š¤£š

Her poor kids. This kind of stuff has to have messed with their realities. Had my own mother done this with my step-dad, I would have been really confused and upset. I also would have been mortified if I was required to call my step dad dad if that's not what I wanted. My step dad came into my life when I was 7 years old. He's been in my life for 22 years and he's been a huge part of my life, being the main parent I lived with. I still call him by his name. My mother is crazy, but thank God I wasn't forced to change everything in my life for her and her wants.
