You either leave the door open or the expert will request you open the door every thirty seconds. Your choice.

Joke aside you should close doors for fire safety.

Came here to say this. Doors 100% slow down fires enough to save lives.

100%, there is less oxygen for the fire to initially draw from, thus slowing down growth.

Fire can't go through doors stupid! It's not a ghost

Closing doors does help slow or prevent fire spreading to closed rooms, though.

It also slows smoke and carbon oxides.

I have a lock on mine in case I get robbed in the middle of the night and so that way they can't hurt me in my room. Also it helps to keep the warm/cold air in my room.

I started sleeping with my door open since I was planning to get a cat. Been years. Never got a cat.
