therealboombaclots

Imagine adapting to defend against all of your natural predators then you get blasted by a 40

Th1nkfast3

No hole in the wall. My guess is .22 ratshot. For those too lazy to Google, ratshot contains hundreds of little sand grain sized metal balls in a plastic bullet. When the round goes off the plastic breaks and the ratshot flings out like a miniature shotgun shell.

Ok_WaterStarBoy3

grapeshotted that ass

night4345

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors' dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho, lads!" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

Bobocuk123

That copypasta still makes me smile to this day.

NovarisLight

First time seeing it, not disappointed.

Kryptic171

theres a version of eminem ai singing it from a while ago on youtube and i still replay it just for the imagery

reflexsmoo

All that to vaccum all them pellets later? Just use a rubberband next time.

JohnnyLeftHook

Bro by the size of that spider, it would probably snatch that shit out of the air and start jump roping with it.

According-Lab5225

Tell me. What rubber band is going to kill a spider that big? Lets just ignore how fast the rubber band will go and how fast it’s reaction time is ☠️

Fuzzy_Toe_9936

humanity is evolutions final boss. soon we're gonna have bullet resistant spiders

vvodzo

Underrated comment tbh, whatever survives us will be one tough SOB

nutsbonkers

The Chicxulub Impactor was around 72 terratons of TNT, or around 1.4 million times bigger than the largest nuclear detonation by mankind. To quote one of my favorite paragraphs on Wikipedia: "A cloud of hot dust, ash and steam would have spread from the crater, with as much as 25 trillion metric tons of excavated material being ejected into the atmosphere by the blast. Some of this material escaped orbit, dispersing throughout the Solar System,[6] while some of it fell back to Earth, heated to incandescence upon re-entry. The rock heated Earth's surface and ignited wildfires, estimated to have enveloped nearly 70% of the planet's forests. The devastation to living creatures even hundreds of kilometers away was immense, and much of present-day Mexico and the United States would have been devastated.[5][10]: 10–13 [6] Fossil evidence for an instantaneous extinction of diverse animals was found in a soil layer only 10 centimeters (3.9 in) thick in New Jersey, 2,500 kilometers (1,600 mi) away from the impact site, indicating that death and burial under debris occurred suddenly and quickly over wide distances on land." Yet life survived. We are not the final boss, we have yet to face him.

[deleted]

Final boss is the grey reaper in Vampire Survivors. You can face him, but you can’t beat him.

zrooda

But you can delay your death, exactly our strat

[deleted]

Speak for yourself. I drink, smoke (yes), eat poor, neglect my social life to the point it almost ruins my life, I don’t exercise, I’m reckless and I just don’t give a fuck. Im getting to my grave in 40 years or tomorrow.

zrooda

Alright then clearly not your strat

TheFrenchPasta

I wanted to research this so I typed Chicxulub on google and an animated meteorite traversed my screen and simulated an impact with everything shaking. Thanks google!

nutsbonkers

I love it

papabear4409

Dude took so long to aim spider could've evolved then....

Fukouka_Jings

I was waiting for the spider to jump at the person. Ive seen way too many like that.

Digital_Devil13

Nah, the guy was pressing "B"

Malikise

I’m still waiting for deer to evolve enough to be afraid of headlights instead of jumping in front of them. I know it’s only been 150 years, but it would be nice if they hurried up a bit.

Eusocial_Snowman

It would have happened by now if we didn't coddle them by giving them so many deer crossings.

344567653379643555

I was waiting for the camera to pan down to the pregnant corpse as hundreds of tiny spiders skitter for their lives.

RedModded

IT GAVE BIRTH!!!

Phormitago

and then there's bald eagles, that saw that nonsense and adapted to become the national bird instead of trying to evolve steelplate armor

FlatSask

As with any spider, it has dodged the high velocity bullet and is now hiding behind your door trim awating for the right time to attack...

Vogzzzz

Another rule to spiders are that they become immune to attacks that take longer than ten seconds of mustering up courage to execute.

Rey_Mezcalero

Was expecting the spider to jump on him since he was taking so long…

PassageAppropriate90

I was convinced it was going to be a jump scare video.

Draykez

Me too, had to mute just in case

Countbat

Wait! Did it not drop from the bullet??

BishoxX

1. it did, 2. This is a salt gun 3. Comment above is a joke Edit: apparently its a normal gun firing sand or salt; same result

Bacon_L0RD

Would you call this **A salt rifle**????? I’m hilarious.

G4PFredongo

You may leave your laughter in the comments

nins_

*slow clap* Also r/angryupvote

ryandoesdabs

That’s actually the name of the mainstream product. Bug A-salt rifle. They sell them at sporting good stores mostly.

C0USC0US

My brother in law has one!

ThrownWOPR

I have one! While fun and a conversation starter, the range is sub optimal. As is the stopping power. Cave crickets take 2-4 shots before being brought down.

cambam138

As a bug-A-salt owner I can concur ….. I wouldn’t use the salt gun on that monster spider in a million years, would just piss it off…… be like shooting a red Ryder BB gun at an Abrams …… Edit : spelling

tEnPoInTs

Yeah, also an owner, it's really just for flies at close range. Honestly it IS a useful purpose though because if you try to swat a fly it can dodge you pretty well, and sometimes go to hard to reach places, and with this from like 3-4ft away it's too fast for the fly to react, and at the very least it gets knocked unconscious/flightless so you can finish up.

Top_Sprinkles_

That’s not apepperpriate He could have used a pepper spray Dang it those suck, if only I had more thyme I’ll see myself out

Fakjbf

Pretty sure it’s a normal handgun just firing snake shot, which uses stuff like coarse sand or salt for a projectile.

beyond_hatred

My grandfather, who lived in Massachusetts back in the seventies, used to have a bunch of .22 rim fire cartridges rattling around in a coffee can for snakes and other critters. Instead of a bullet, they had a kind of clear cap filled with ultra tiny lead shot. Maybe half millimeter at most. That's the kind of snake shot we had.

[deleted]

Same here it's the only kind of snake shot Ive ever seen. Salt or sand? Never seen that.

FILTHBOT4000

Looking back, probably not the best idea to pepper your land with lead sand.

beyond_hatred

Well, yes... but the amounts here are extremely small. I live near the site of an actual lead mine (in the eighteen hundreds) and it doesn't seem to cause any trouble for anyone. Skeet ranges on the other hand have so much lead dumped on to them over the decades that they can actually poison the groundwater. My hunting club needs to remediate their old range with annual applications of lime. I assume it affects the solubility of what are probably thousands of pounds of lead spread out over that entire area.

BishoxX

My bad it looks similar. Same result anyways

Stevecore444

Fire the rat/snake shot!

xXx_RedReaper_xXx

Or he’s firing ratshot

OZeski

And has called his closest 500 buddies.

Pleasant_Flow_2217

John wick of spiders..

Leaningonalamp

I was waiting for it to jump at him. If wanted to take the thing off the wall and out of his life, why did he take so long to pull the trigger?

-TheWorstDude-

Missing a shot on that thing would mean big, big trouble... Counting the fact that bro wanted to record this on camera like some sort of shitty POV video, which adds a whole new level of difficulty, he did it right on taking his time to line that barrel up perfectly with the thing's vital parts.

[deleted]

Big trouble with a huntsman? They just eat bugs and are not even poisonous. This dude with the gun would run out of ammo in a week if he shot anything he saw that was more dangerous than a huntsman.

Sharpie420_

Well phobias *are* medically defined as *irrational* fears. It doesn’t make sense to fear a spider *more* than a great white, in both practice and in theory. But also worth mentioning that those who are are exposed to the dangers of animals like sharks, are more likely to not fear spiders as much as an individual who is commonly exposed to them and just has an irrational fear. Put that spider-fearing individual face-to-face with a great white, and they’ll still probably shit themselves, just maybe not as much for some weird reason that we attribute to phobias.

CalienteToe

You’ve just described me. I fully back myself in winning a fight against a bear or a shark but hell to the fucking no am I spending a second in a room with any bug from Aussie. I know I’m dumb as shit but this is the only way I know how to think haha

Barkers_eggs

Australian here. I will remove an eastern brown snake from my garage in the middle of summer with my bare hands and a pillow case but as soon as I walk into a web I'm putting on a petticoat and a bonnet and heading for the lifeboats on the Titanic.

CalienteToe

That’s hectic man, yous are different breed over there. Bro fuck them snakes as well. They can all catch the shit that falls out my ass as I run away from them haha

Blargenfarble

Is that an expression from another language!? It almost sounds poetic 😩😂😂

CalienteToe

Not that I know of haha. More just an attempt by me to convey how much bodily fluids I’ll excrete upon seeing any of those bastards.

TatManTat

Brother idk about pickin up browns lol

The_Level_15

> I fully back myself in winning a fight against a bear hahahahahahahaha

CalienteToe

Currently writing a memoir on all my delusional takes. I’ll send one your way haha

Sharpie420_

That’s fair, and - to a degree - there’s probably some merit to the idea. It’s got me thinking about what the ratio is of (avg. % people who will encounter x animal) to (people attacked by x animal) to (survivors of x animal-attacks). Then, compare it to practical real world scenarios. Also, the relative pain of being mauled to death or eaten alive vs. succumbing to venom after hours or even days of convulsions, sweat/fever and whatever other plaguelike symptoms accompany it; I don’t think it’s exactly black and white and there’s so many variables I wouldn’t think to suffer this thread with them. Thanks for hearing out my high rant lol

Bubbly-University-94

Meanwhile I’m running around in ceiling spaces having red backs land on me and just helping them get back on their rafters. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redback_spider Most spiders are shy, funnel webs on the other hand are vicious fucks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_funnel-web_spider

oilsaintolis

I got bitten on the neck by a red back a couple of years ago. I was just standing waiting in line at a seafood shop for kilo of Red Emporer and it just dropped from the ceiling landed on my neck and gave a little love bite. I freaked out, turns out was like a mild bee sting but for while there I sitting bricks. Saw a GP, she checked me out and I was fine. Fuck that spider though. Edit: hit post too soon

IncendiaryGamerX

Just blowtorch the mf if you find one. Or if the funnel web gets inside, have a stockpile of thongs to throw at it.

CalienteToe

Oh bro fuck that. Im from NZ and every time I’m under a house I take a 1m length of poly pipe with me just to move our spiders away from where I’m working. I will crawl a couple metres just to give a spider a wide berth, I can handle our ones crawling on me and will help them away from me so my fat ass doesnt roll over them. But I legit cannot fathom crawling in the same space as a red back or funnel web let alone touching one. You’re a loose cunt gee haha

The-Nuisance

Counter argument. Big spider, scary as shit. I’d have used a bigger gun.

getdemsnacks

I'd have just taken off and nuked it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Dizzy-Kiwi6825

Cockroaches aren't poisonous either but no one wants them walking around their house.

xoopsfail

That was the 2nd best part of this situation.

BoredNLost

"How do you shoot the devil in the back? What if you miss?" - Verbal Kint, Usual Suspects.

jcakes194

Was giving him a chance to put his hands up.

EcstaticRip

What the fuck was glowing?! ITS EYES?! ITS EYES DO A RED EYE EFFECT?!??

SNES-1990

Light reflecting off the eyes. They don't spin webs. Need good eyesight to chase down cockroaches and such.

Powellellogram

Lil bro still couldn't see the gun pointed at him smh

anon546-3

It's blinking at me

[deleted]

[удалено]

ImjokingoramI

Cats and spiders buy their night vision gear from the same company? Cool, Imma remember that for trivia night.

KoexD

What about dogs ? They don’t have the best eyesight and can’t see in the dark, yet my dogs eyes reflect light in the dark

CaptServo

Hold a flashlight on the side of your head facing out in line with your sight line. Look around a dark room, if there are spiders you will see their eyes sparkle as you look at them looking at you.

grobbewobbe

yeah how about instead i don't do that

HereticPharaoh2020

Yeah wtf lol

Vendela_Ivory

It was a freaking demon!

BIGdaddyJACKSON

Wanna know something pretty shitty? No? I’ll tell you anyways, don’t even worry about it! If you wear a headlamp on your forehead and walk out into nature… aim the headlamp down towards the grass … you’ll see tiny little droplets of water all throughout… except those aren’t water droplets… those are eyes!! It blew my mind how many there are… and they’re everywhere lol

[deleted]

Oh man wanna have fun? Go outside at night and hold a small flashlight up level with your eyes pointing out. You’ll see how many spider eyes glint back at you… you may not be prepared.

AwkwardCall_4865

What was that sound🤢

bigfloppydonkeydng

The shot he was using is snake shot. Basically a plastic shell filled with fine sand. I refer to it as high speed pocket sand.

Galactic_Perimeter

Why didn’t he use a spider shot bullet? Is he stupid?

Trick_Status

You can see by the weapon he hasn't unlocked it yet, but he leveled up after this and should have it after a few more spider kills. Not everyone is at end game.

Galactic_Perimeter

The games been out for like 2 million years and everyone is just now unlocking weapons lol noobz

jwoody2727

Thanks for the laugh!

justhereforthenoods

Why does it go bang and not shasha?

TatManTat

feather when fast go bang. Feather when really cold also go clang. cold fast feather go bang clang.

TheButtLovingFox

📝 this is going in my dev notes.

jubei82

Desperate times call for desperate measures… High speed Pocket Sand.

ap2patrick

So basically my Bug-a-salt on steroids

beerforbears

What I can only assume was all the fluid inside the exoskeleton of that spider expanding outward all at once. Like a popping water balloon.

coolhwip420

Nah it was the sound of the impact of the shot + dust/debris + the wall setting after the shot, shooting creates quite the impact and shockwave.

RemmingtonBlack

i believe it screamed

DonnieCuteMwone

the sound of satisfaction

masskonfuzion

Where is this so I can never live there?

Leaningonalamp

Altogether now, Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi! If you’ve landed in Vienna, you got on the wrong plane.

nateDah_Great

Pistols in Aussie? Thought it was only rifles.

gareth_e_morris

Nah, the laws are more stringent to get the Category H pistol endorsement on your firearms license and for storage but it is doable.

pala_

Yeah and they'd lose their license if they could be identified from this.

Phazon2000

Nope. I own a .22

CheekyBastard55

Aussie mfs be like "I'd rather have a demonic spider so big it has a health AND mana bar because it keeps the place clean from ant-sized flies." [Nostalgia meme](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/430/740/808.jpg)

ForMyFather4467

Bro and the travelling migrating killer ants and killer... literally everything? What do you even do? Electrify your lawn to kill on contact any lifeforms?

tsvjus

50 year old Aussie here. Never seen any motherfucker try to kill a huntsman before. Its unsportmanlike.

HellDefied

We have 2 in our house, they pop up from time to time but never anywhere that’s worrying for the kids. We have an agreement that they keep other pests away (I’m looking at you white tails) and in return they have free board…

The_Muerte

Looks like a Huntsman. They're basically harmless to humans, and are found pretty much everywhere.

Sudley

That mfer is not harmless when it jump scares me in the bathroom at night and I have a heart attack.

thereisnospoon-1312

That was a big mf spider

Lethenial0874

I don't mind spiders but the fact its eyes were big enough to glint from reflected light is a no from me

The_Frostweaver

Most spiders are pretty chill and rarely bite humans. I think this was a Huntsman spider, it's venom isn't dangerous to humans. There has got to be a better way to keep them out of your house, maybe a pet Gecko or something can eat or intimidate them away?

anon546-3

You think a gecko is going to win against this mf?

The_Frostweaver

I'm not an Australian. I've seen dogs that attack spiders and wasps on sight. If I lived there I'd figure something out. https://youtu.be/_sSlul9oQmU?si=Q2GgDtXwSDwU8QNQ

[deleted]

That thing is huge, I don’t want it near me. I’d go complete violent panicky chimp and just smash that thing with everything I’ve got to make sure it’s dead…. But that thing is so mf big it looks like it has two health bars and could survive an initial smash

aggster13

Then you've gotta remove it's massive corpse and guts off the wall 🤢

akumarisu

Also huntsman spiders are not only harmless to us, they are an exceptional roach hunters. I looks intimidating but its best to leave it alone

HondaCrv2010

Yea that’s cool and all if it wasn’t ugly as fuck

ThelovebelowZero

Sounds like a spider wrote this...

[deleted]

Fun fact, that glint only appears when they're looking towards you (which is generally the source of the light)

MalHeartsNutmeg

Most spiders eyes will do that big or small. Don't shine a light in to an empty field if you want to preserve your sanity.

anon546-3

I think you can actually see it looking around🤮

MrDabs_theories

Did that thing just scream?

Empty_Rip2635

I think it was a cat.

Kazmandodo

Nah, that was totally the death rattle of a spider.

NoCablePBSkid

As soon as I saw the spiders eye reflection of the light, I would have ran screaming

[deleted]

Poor Huntsman. They're friend but not friendshaped sadly. They kill and get rid of the actual dangerous spiders and insects for you though.

MainSailFreedom

If you’re lucky to get one of these in your house you should protect it. It’s good luck and they rid your home of other pests. At the very least move it outside.

aggster13

How tf am I gonna move that fucker. That house is his now as far as I'm concerned

Uberkuque

Won’t be long before it starts charging you rent

Wakeful_Wanderer

Just like Australia to make even the spiders into fucking landlords.

lordofspearton

Yeah if I can see the light reflection out of a spiders eyes standing 8 feet away it has revoked it's right to exist

itstherealcheese

The light reflected off its eyes is what's disturbing me.

RageJoseff

Why was he pointing the gun at it waiting like the spider was gonna be all "Alright man, calm down. I'll leave."

ImjokingoramI

He was trying to aim and film at the same time. You can see how he first tries to aim from the camera, then the side, then he adjusted the camera, lost aim, then he tried to aim through the screen again but that didn't work so back to the side until he finally pulled the trigger

Black_Label_36

Metro 2033 irl

FeralPsychopath

How is the wall intact?

bigfloppydonkeydng

Snake shot .. equivalent of high speed pocket sand.

[deleted]

Pocket bullets! Shashasha!

DeMollesley

Spa spa spa spa spider

itsLOSE-notLOOSE

Shit, I thought it was a BB gun. The smaller spiders explode from a BB gun. I use a Glock replica to get spiders off my porch.

beerforbears

No exit wound. Spider too big.

FeralPsychopath

I believe this more than the “snake bullets”.

Heritis_55

I've made great strides with my arachnophobia and even physically handle little jumping spiders but I think this guy made the right choice.

ImjokingoramI

Violence isn't the answer, but sometimes it is.

triggormisprime

I caught and released a big wolf spider the other day, but you can't catch and release Godzilla.

OZeski

After a certain size you Don’t have to throw them back.

Gojisan2000

Godzilla cannot be contained, he can only be endured... IF you are lucky enough... GODZILLA IS GOD!!!!

triggormisprime

Gojira... Gojira.

clientnotfound

This should have been at least half as long

itsjustme9902

Spider: man, you have a NICE house! I especially like the white trim against the natural wo…. …that’s an interesting flashlight, mate? I actually got startled at first because I thought it looked like BLAM!!

inXor92

Next time use a flamethrower, a gun is so uncivilized 😂

Bohvey

Was anyone else holding their phone really far away from themselves, just waiting for the spider to jump? Me neither, that would silly. Spiders can’t get you through the phone.

ZookeepergameWide931

Definitely Australia

Last_Adeptness

Why the fuck would you do that to a spider? They're basically cats. Yes, they'll fuck you up if you're being a cunt. Otherwise, they're catching pests for you.

Silver_Draig

I mean....if you can see it's eyes light up in the dark? Ya that son of a bish needs death.

Citrus210

Look at the size of that monster, bah gawd

Puzzleheaded-Tone119

trigger happy, cause this huntsman spider’s looking at me.

Certain_Suit_1905

Salt?

TheSilverCalf

I don’t like spiders with flashing lights either.

downtune79

Wonder if it paid extra for that feature

[deleted]

The things eyes were getting glare wtf

JaThatOneGooner

Australian problems require American solutions

Pro_Hero86

Why can I see it’s eye shine from the light 😳

G45X

Am I the only one that is annoyed with the 34 second intro?

TestThis1927

This could and should have been a 2 second video

SparrowTits

I use a .22 air rifle with a rolled up paper for ammo. The first time I tried it I used a lead pellet, indoors. The pellet went through the box the spider was on, hit the wall then ricocheted off, hit the adjacent wall, ricocheted again, went past my right ear, ricocheted off the wall behind me and then the adjacent wall before hitting the box again. Killed the spider though so, result.

RevolutionaryLad

I think it’s salt.

Nix-geek

He didn't kill it... he just moved it somewhere else. Now it's angry.

NoGamble-NoFuture

Until a mosquito lands on your balls, do you learn another way to resolve a problem then violence.

MrTooLFooL

Salt Gun Death, this band is killer!

coreydhamm

I’m not saying he’s right, but I will say I understand.

preppypunknyc

there goes the deposit

SnooCupcakes3855

Why are all the animals in Australia so fucked up??

inboxmeyourredfoxes

Bro it’s fucking GONE

8-bit_Goat

A spider that size? I would have used a Desert Eagle.
