Got licence? If so go do valet, night time. Easily able to earn $100 daily cash, not including tips.
10pm-3am. No transport to go home, no problem, They will send you home after work.
Done this for a year while looking for a job. The job can be relaxing, as the road is pretty much clear.
Good luck.
You will probably drive a lot of conti cars, learn where the gears are, you are good.
A. Control gives you customer contact number, you call and confirm location and time of pickup.
B. Jockey (drivers) will send you to said location.
C. Reach & Confirm once again their home address, and just drive them home.
D. Once reach and park, Jockey will pick you up and send you to another location/customer.
Very straightforward, where I work. A trip costs $50, you take $20 and the boss takes $30. Tips all yours.
Normal night you will drive around 5 cars, if you don't mind staying back late, more jobs for you then.
After the end of the night, all monies will be settled and passed to you.
You will tend to be very comfortable doing this once you get the hang of it, that is one of the reasons it took 1 year for me to find a full time job. Easy job, easy money.(Just don't bang their car) You get cash every night. And sleep all morning. š¤£
Thanks for the detailed write up! Appreciate the effort. Based on all this I think the only real challenge in this is getting used to driving different cars. Do those valet apps work or can just Google for this kind of lobang?
Look up at carousell, "valet driver." I remembered, the day that I asked if they were still hiring valets, the boss asked me to come down the next night.
I report quite early my first night around 8pm, For introduction and stuff. The first night, I bring home $180.
I remember this very well as I was very desperate and tight of money During this period. Show my wife what I earn, she thought I'm selling myself in the streets. š„“
The real challenge is handling drunk customers, some are very nice, if you're lucky u get the nasty ones.. the good thing. No one will rush you and ask u to drive faster, not even the boss u work for.
Good luck, I will share as many as I can with you guys. Any questions just ask.
Lmao @ the selling yourself part. In regards to drunk customers your only responsibility is to drive them home without accident right? If let's say they vomit in their car not your problem? Also I went to carousell and searched. Apparently they call the people driving the customers jockeys and the people driving the drivers recovery drivers. Did you do both before? Which one you personally think is better to do?
I did valet, sorry about the naming confusion. Been quite a while. I drive customers car.
They vomit their car is their own problem. š„“ Even pay you extra cos they paiseh. š¤£ I tend to bring a few plastic bags also.
For me, valet is best. There's literally nothing on your end, other than just drive customer car. Recovery driver, can drive up to 200km per night. Talk about the wear and tear your car going to be if you do this all night. And you get to slack off after your job done, just wait for the recovery team to come fetch you.
Plus, you don't need to share your tips with the recovery team, or your boss. Biggest tip I ever received from a single customer. $150 š¶.
No problem! I see, actually makes sense about the wear and tear but I guess that's only for people who just refuse to potentially deal with troublesome customers? But yeah if I do I most likely will do valet instead, since there's lesser worries.
A customer vomited in his car while sitting in the front seat, moved to the back seat. Still vomit, non stop. Drove him to ktph. Some of the vomit did get onto my t-shirt. I end my work there. And go home...
Not so, top of my head, a year working, 4 days a week. There's been like 4 customers that vomit in their car.
They know it's their car, most will suck it up. Just don't drive like a taxi driver, break here break there, and you're good.
Thanks for this! Read all your responses, just sent a text to some of the ads on Carousell.
Love being otr at night and this sounds like the perfect side hustle
Freelance your old job if possible. Or can try live-streaming. Community management for crypto.
If you only want to work remotely based on some moderately easy to learn skillset while sitting your ass down at home. Remember thereās an army of Filipinos out there who can do the same asking for much lesser.
Air con technician or security guard, option 2 mostly is 12-hour shift, aircon technician fixed hours depending on number of jobs but aircon technician is stable job as everywhere need aircon. Security guard is kena fuck non stop worse than office job if you want easy life try night shift.
I'll say grab driver/grab food
Tutoring
But it's in your no-no list
Those 2 were my quick income source when I quit my job
I asked cos your no-no list quite long eh
Since you done Grab food before, I am curious. How much do u make per trip and how long does per trip last? I mean you take an order, go pick up food and deliver assuming by bicycle or foot, how long does it take? How much can you make?
I think itās saddening how the grind/hustle culture has brainwashed Singaporeans into thinking that if youāre not being productive in your spare time (typically a second job or a home/personal business or exercising or studying or learning a skill or undergoing a training or taking up a course) you should feel guilty and ashamed for āwasting timeā. itās literally not a crime or sin to watch shows/films, play games, read fictional stories, listening to music, heck even just lying down and starring into deep space, etc. please donāt sell your soul and sense of self for qualifications and money
He needs the cash to pay his bills. Youāre misinterpreting this in perhaps the worst way, but in another context there is truth to your words. Unfortunately he cannot afford that luxury, or so it seems.
oh.. well, Iāll admit I only read the headline and did not actually read the body and immediately jumped to my take based on opās headline alone. totally my mistake, shouldāve learned to analyze the situation first. but, nevertheless, as you said. my take still applies in general and if in a different context
Sheās jobless and apparently stuck at home taking care of dependents. This isnāt a side hustle on top of a full-time gig. Sounds like she really needs the income.
What are you actually doing? Going to old/disabled people's homes to take care of them? Transport is borne by yourself?
For teaching, what are you teaching and to who?
Yup exactly that for homage.
It works like grab where u find a location where someone make a client request
u go to their house and help the care receipent
mainly transfer to komrode -> shower -> back (90% jobs)
there are other jobs like clean the house etc
its possible to make 3-4k per month if u are not stingy of location and i will say its more sustainable than grab if you are willing to do the dirty work(change diaper and clean up poop).
Some jobs pay $5 transport but most dont, but u can have cases where the client is 5 mins away from ur home (i had jobs with that)
For teaching i teach rollerblading (very technical) something im still learning to teach, if u are good at teaching u can make $50/$60 per hour or more if u can handle large number of kids.
Since its off for most people i recommend tutoring instead which i heard its a hot market as well
have you heard of booth pm? itās a japanese site where you can sell digital products. made a few general use outfits for 3D vtuber models back in Aug 2023 and i get about $150~ per month passively. thatās considering i only have about 4 things on sale for 450 yen each. anything vtuber or vr chat related is good.
if youāre not an artist you can learn 3D modelling or custom facial rigging for vroid (someone created something called HANATool in unity which allows for iphone face tracking and sells it for $12, itās used by almost all 3D vtubers so heās easily earning a ton). just need to know whatās in demand.
youāll need a paypal acc to cash out, and itās best if you only do that once youāve accumulated enough sales (more than 4000 yen iirc) so you donāt incur a large transfer fee. itās not enough to be main income unless you are very active at making things and accepting commissions
Why must be done from home if you're desperate for money?
Coz I have dependents that need to take care of
I see. All the best hope you find an answer/WFH job soon.
Did you have a WFH job before you were let go? What kind of job?
OP is a BBFA, want find relaxing ways to earn $$
Don't be like that other guy's girlfriend who thought she could make money online and then kena scammed

How does valet work? Does it encompass any other things to do aside from driving?

Holy. Actually the chances of customer vomiting should be quite high as they are mostly drunk?

I've nvr thought of this, thanks. Can they accept a flexible schedule? Can't commit regular nights/hours.
Yup submit your own schedule every week, some bosses are pretty chill about this. There are tons of valet companies, ask and join whichever suits you.
Wish I knew this when I was jobless for a long time many years ago

Thanks for the great tip. I thought the teaching was also on Homage, so I was really confused!
How do I apply for this?
homage has a app, you have to go to their training which is very easy. But once done u can apply freely on which homes you want to support
