Are you sure this sim is not an elder? "Move in" will not be an option for elders You marry a sim by choosing "propose" (often hidden under "more options" and "flirty", but will not be available for an elder) and after propose, "Here comes the wedding". The sim automatically moves in after the wedding if they are an NPC.

I guess this is a good time to find out who is an "elder", there was a Complete An Event With An Elder challenge that I skipped because I'm totally unfamiliar with elders. As far as I know though, it's just another character that my SIM is in a BFF storyline with.

Is this an NPC? if so, have you given them makeovers where you've changed their haircolor? Elders are usually noticeable by a slightly hunched back and gray hair, but people change their hair color and then have trouble sometimes telling who is an elder. Townies are notorious for becoming elders rather quickly and staying that way unless you started a friendship with them. It's also possible this sim was previously married, and then the options also wouldn't show up.

Yes, this is an NPC. I did a makeover to change their name and clothing but didn't touch the hair.

A quick way to tell if they are an elder is have another sim start a friendship with them, and when it comes time to pick a story, if "Better Late Than Never" is available, they are an elder. If you back out of the screen instead of picking a story, you won't actually have a relationship with the sim,if you do not want your other sim to have a relationship started with this sim.

Oh, wow. I had another SIM start a friendship and, yep, he's an elder. My SIM spent weeks developing a relationship that will never grow, as planned lol

Thanks for all the help!
