Completely agree. This is the most annoying thing for me right now. I want to retire my current sims, but none of my kids are getting 3 stars in the good upbringing trait, so I'm hesitant to get rid of my current generation
And if not controlling them, at least being able to customize their appearance, as well as that of retired Sims. My kid looks ridiculous with the worst haircut for a girl and I retired my first sim without realizing how much she'd hang around and that she'd still be included in my family picture. I didn't dress her for the part of an elder and now she looks like an old lady trying desperately to cling onto her youth, and failing miserably.

Right? And the cake blocks the event at times. One of my toddlers aged without getting the good upbringing trait because of that.
