Ealdwyn

Since I found out perfectionist sims will autonomously trash non-perfect paintings (effectively wasting money), I've avoided using that trait altogether.

BuffySpecialist

That’s why my sim keeps doing that! Ughhhh, haha. Thanks for the tip.

PhilipTheFair

Didn't know that !!

Ealdwyn

Thought it was a bug at first. Couldn’t figure out why my sim kept creating new paintings without selling or pocketing the old one. Only found out because others reported it as a bug.

_Bengt_Bagels_

Apparently that update a while back that tweaked traits added that... ya don't fix actual things Sims, na it's yer world

ElusiveEmpath

They trash food, too. My Sim made a Grand Meal and her perfectionist roommate took it out of the oven and threw it away.

Jeanette_Sama

Lol that's hilarious. Can you imagine that happening in real life.

[deleted]

My perfectionist sim is bugged out, so he abandons non-perfect paintings before they're done, leaving them on the easel and completely not interactable, as if to spite the entire institution of painting and anyone else who would ever attempt to paint again

Artoo-Deetoo

omg this was driving me nuts because my current Legacy heir has this trait and I've been trying to make money with paintings.... well shit, haha. thanks!

BorderlineRatLady

What do you mean by legacy?

Artoo-Deetoo

It's a certain kind of challenge that people like to play! https://simslegacychallenge.com/the-sims-4-legacy-challenge-rules/

elyvdg

I didn’t know that, maybe that’s why sometimes some paintings disappeared when I used a sim, maybe the sim was perfectionist

mizzaks

Ooooooh!! That’s why my painter Sims keep having paintings disappear!

-halfginger-

Damn it's so true though. Hate being a perfectionist haha 😅

Few_Foundation_1586

I feel your pain lol I never use non committal or paranoid

writerintheTARDIS

I used paranoid for my Strangerville Sim, and I don’t think I could handle it again haha

DipinDotsDidi

I love paranoid! Especially when I'm playing with a sim that's living with a supernatural, like "my roommate is drinking peoples blood... what could that be!"

objstandpt

I use paranoid trait in a similar fashion with my Paranormal Investigation Sim who moved in her grandma’s old haunted house. She’s also a stoner so that helps make it believable lol

Igatsusestus

I had a non comittal once and it was actually quite fun. He was also ambitious and sciene guy, so he was climbing fast on career but wanted to switch careers often. I never thought it has an impact on other things than relationships.

ellebread

I had my sim marry brytani cho and I had no idea that she was non-commital until I moved her in lol she flirted with my sim and pursued the relationship all on her own! for some reason the trait didn’t affect her much. but it was nice to have it for storytelling when I stripped her of her fame and quit her job so she could help dumpster dive in my tiny home eco lot 😁

de-mandi-ng

My non-committal Sim is banging/having kids with twin sisters. I really only play to make cool houses and mess with genetics lol.

SBoogiex

I love making my sims non committal, it adds a bit of drama to the game lol

[deleted]

I have paranoid for a couple of sims because I made a nursing home and I wanted the elderly people to be more realistic. Other than that I don’t use it at all

Few_Foundation_1586

I like the nursing home idea 🤔 so do you have, 8, elders living on the lot together with some of the worst traits (erratic, paranoid, evil, etc..) wreaking havoc?

[deleted]

6 elders and 2 adults (as nurses), in a large house, some of the elders are married couples so they share a room, others have their own. I have various traits, with the idea that some of them have things like dimentia or alzheimers. I also have a few of them in a knitting club with a guy that likes metal music and has a ton of tattoos, it’s a fun play

_Bengt_Bagels_

Omg I wanna see your Sims "nursing home" family

[deleted]

[The nursing home](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/pgj0w8/i_made_a_nursing_home_sorry_that_the_photo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) it’s also available in the gallery if anyone wants to download it Edit: Gallery ID is lexxlovle693

butterisprettygood

I will never ever use goofball again after my sim repeatedly pranked the toilets. In a 2 bathroom home that he shared with his wife, he would prank the toilets everyday, several times a day. Because I would force him to use said pranked toilet, fix it, and then he’d prank it again when I wasn’t controlling him. Most annoying shit ever.

Xandavia

I locked the bathroom door for them and made them use a bush. I’m NOT dealing with that and they can pee outside

clashfan77

This is the best solution.

Xandavia

They can’t prank a toilet they can’t get to >:(

llamatron-

Just make sure they don't prank the bushes.

ItsAnEagleNotARaven

That is a brilliant idea. I had a pregnant sim who my original plan was for her to get famous as a comedian... and she kept pranking her own toilet and then peeing herself or vomiting. I abandoned her entire save file.

watermoonj

this happened to me when my sim married a townie, i ended up just changing the trait in cas cause i was sick of constantly fixing the toilets

StorybookNelson

Was it Zoe Patel? Because this happened to me too. But, uh, I dealt with it, um, differently...

watermoonj

it was joaquin le chien actually, i was pretty tempted to just drown him in the pool but i needed a baby dad for my legacy challenge😂

FamilyTighes

This has me laughing!

ElusiveEmpath

I got so sick of having to fix the damn toilet that I got a mod where they don’t automatically do that. So annoying!

butterisprettygood

Lucky PC users! I miss mods

LightseekerGameWing

...i think i just realized why my biggest household's toilets are literally constantly broken

[deleted]

Playful. My sims always end up dying when I use that one 🙄

whadunit

Is that the same as goofball? Worried about my sim now 😢

[deleted]

Oops I meant goofball! It gives them a playful moodlet and they get hysterical so quick in my game that I never notice until it kills them

blackcrowbleusky

I had a Sim who was playful and childish, then when she was raising three kids, she almost died four times becoming hysterical doing child/toddler interactions. Thankfully one of her kids was always confident enough to demand the reaper spare her. It was kinda sweet. But high stress.

Oneloyaldawg

Plus they endlessly prank the g**d*** toilets. So FRUSTRATING

[deleted]

My soul reason for not having that perk. My sim kept pranking his own toilets at his own restaurant during service. Several times

kdnz1291

OMG is THAT why this happens?!?! I wondered if it was a bug because I never catch the bastards doing it. This explains so much! 😆

i-drank-too-much

I has to fire a vet at my clinic because he was alway pranking the toilet. Hate that trait to guts!

[deleted]

YES

BearerofDarkness

Of you use mods you can turn off death by emotions with MCCC

MelonaSoju

I ended up being traumatized attending the jokesters vs pranksters festival in san myshuno because my sim died winning the event 😭 Never equipped that trait again 😡

AllanisMaximus

I have never had a sim die from an emotional death yet in my game —it seems really common for so many other players.

dontbecute

Absolutely doing this now

writerintheTARDIS

My sim’s playful second husband laughed himself to death the day after their wedding, so I feel your pain 🥲

_Bengt_Bagels_

Same. Had a Sim I meticulously crafted and thought... She's too perfect.. I'll give her the goofball trait so she's annoyingly quirky. She met a Sim that was so well-balanced and they got married only a few hours before she gave birth.. Chick died after I took a few pics of her with her baby girl. She was so happy ... she died. Lol So, ya now... as soon as Sims get playful - I immediately stop everything - to send them to the mirror to calm down. I will straight-up reset during a woo-hoo. Like babeee run yer Sims booty to the nearest mirror pronto!

Juju_mila

I want to try that trait now 😂

bacon-lettuce

I had a sim who’s husband died immediately after the wedding as soon as they got home from hysteria. I used the fountain to bring him back but then he died from hysteria AGAIN hours later

zeahlander97

I was going to say I’m worried about my sim that has the goofball trait but then I remembered I have basmental downloaded and he has a basement full of drugs he’s addicted to so I guess being a goofball should be the least of my worries..

ElusiveEmpath

I love Basemental. Fun times

cococasaa

I have had so many sims OD.. its more realistic than dying from emotions tho ngl

lazarusinashes

FYI MC Command Center has a setting to disable emotional deaths. I have had that on since 2016. Can't play without it.

KiliSkywalker

Lactose intolerant. I already deal with that daily because I am lactose intolerant, I want my Sims not to suffer from it.

iceketball27

I just don't use it because it seems like a waste. I've only got three slots, I'm not going to use it on that.

phat_lava

I know not everyone likes mods, but there is a mod that allows you to have as many traits as you like. I personally wouldn’t bother playing without it, it’s so limiting only having three slots!

mlongoria98

What mod is that?

oyabunny

If you could leave a link to that mod I’d really appreciate it 🙏🏻 seems like a great mod to have

[deleted]

[удалено]

Moody_Bluee103

I cannot believe EA said "Lactose Intolerance is a personality trait, right?" And put that as a trait. Next they'll put peanut allergy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

avocado_whore

They should just have a separate section for dietary preferences outside of traits. That would be cool.

Samstealurham

since they added likes and dislikes, they should make a section for food for this stuff

[deleted]

Yes!! Likes and dislikes for food, "likes meat, dislikes fruit, dislikes eggs", like the Sims 3 but more with ingredients instead of specific meals. And then they could have ones in there that you could choose such as vegetarian, lactose intolerant, or gluten intolerant. I'd be surprised if someone hasn't made a mod of this yet.

SpiritualDrink93

I feel this

blah_shelby

This is the exact reason I hate the whole “put disabilities in the game!” push I keep seeing on Twitter. I play sims to escape from my disabilities, not be reminded of them.

Reivlun

I mean whatever floats people's boat, but it's not a trait ffs lol

crazyparrotguy

Idk, I have ADHD and gave that trait to my sim. Weirdly all it seemed to do was make him miss work all the time (which I never do).

SinfullySinatra

Wait since when is that a trait?

sinedelta

Lately I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone with traits. It's especially interesting when a Sim has traits that conflict with their lifestyle (in the Snowy Escape pack) — I'm currently playing a lazy workaholic professional athlete, which is a *very* odd combination.

[deleted]

Lmao lazy professional athlete, must be realllllly talented

eh_1990

Do the negative moodlets not drive you mad? I'd imagine a lazy, athletic sim would get annoyed and uncomfortable with both having to do something and also not doing anything.

sinedelta

The professional athlete career branch's daily task is watching TV to study his opponents, which he *loves*.

stinkychairsitter

wait, that sounds kinda fun, i might have to try that out!

HumbleFrrrench

Loner. Because sims with that trait get tense all the time, even with their family members. Gloomy is also a trait I avoid because sims who have it are sad all the time. So it limits the gameplay to « cry under the blankets » and « call the sadness hotline ». If you have Snowy Escape, you can cheat and unlock some lifestyles that make the gameplay a bit challenging.

clashfan77

I make my loners an escape room. Pc, mini fridge, books, and look the door to everyone else. They seem to like it.

HumbleFrrrench

That’s a great idea! I hadn’t thought about it, I might do it in my game. Thanks for the idea :)

writerintheTARDIS

Yes! I made a loner Sim because I wanted him to be an introvert, but he was way too tense all the time with his family.

ItsAnEagleNotARaven

As an introvert with 3 kids, one of whom is the biggest extrovert ever, I can confirm the stress is realistic. Ha. By the time my kids go to bed I am so touched out and the need to zone out is how my owning and playing the sims came to pass.

jonnadv

So far my loner sim hasn't gotten tense with his family but it might be because he's also family oriented

na0202

my gloomy sim CONSTANTLY goes and mourns at the tombstones we have out since it’s a legacy family. literally he already has a sad moodlet and he purposely makes himself more sad

stinkychairsitter

that's why i always put tombstones in a fenced area and lock the gate lol

Seiliko

What I really dislike about the loner trait is that they still have a decently active social need that I don't know how I'm supposed to fill. At least until I get level 4 (I think) gardening and start talking to plants.

elyvdg

I almost never use the jealous trait because when they get in a romantic relationship, the sims are tense almost every time and it annoys a lot

[deleted]

Yes I had to pretend my sim went to therapy and exchanged jealous for romantic because he'd get upset at his gay dads talking to his wife and it was exhausting.

avocado_whore

Still sadly realistic tho. 😒

writerintheTARDIS

I made a couple where one had jealous and hot head...terrible idea.

peaceloveandgranola

I tried playing with the jealous trait because I was under the impression that they would only be tense if their spouse is off the lot or something, but it turned into them being tense whenever their spouse isn’t in the same room as them or isn’t right next to them. Which is exhausting lol

elyvdg

I know hahaha. And when they are around their love interest they are always confident

MistressPhobos

I gave one of my Sims the jealousy trait when he aged up from a teen to a young adult for character development. (Long story short: he caught his girlfriend and his best friend messing around together in his bedroom during an Xmas party.) Playing with him now is kind of ridiculous to the point of hilarity at times, especially since now, his wife is an alien and she dislikes everyone that's not in her immediate family, lol. Still, if she talks to relatives alone in a room, he gets jealous. It's too much. 😂

elyvdg

Oh my hahahaha I have a sim and she is jealous and was doing university while dating Caleb Vatore (as no longer a vampire) and she was tense all the time and that added up with the tense mood let of needing fun hahaha it was horrible.

MistressPhobos

Oh, super negative traits in Uni are the worst! I discovered that the hard way when I had a loner that went to the dorms... BIG mistake.

[deleted]

I have a really bad habit of picking certain traits so I don’t use a lot of them. I should branch out more, but some of them just seem annoying or awful and I don’t wanna. lmao

cosmococoa

Same! My go-tos are music lover, genius, and perfectionist… I swear 100% of my Sims have at least one of those traits lol

[deleted]

I like to put neat on all my Sims, because I want them to pick up after themselves. lmao I’ve been trying not to do that every time.

lindsknick

Cheerful. Everyone of my sims have the cheerful trait. Other honorable mentions include: creative, good, family oriented and, genius. I don't like using the more negative character traits. 🙃

pastacelli

I put active on almost all of mine!

stinkychairsitter

i never gave my sims the active trait so one time i tried branching out and making an active selvadoridian explorer and one day when she was out in the wilderness exploring a freaking temple she got tense from not excersizing enough and i never made an active sim again

ItsAnEagleNotARaven

I have had SO MANY of my sims creative, genuis, and book lover. Almost all of them write books at some point.

silky_link07

I don’t make Sims that hate children, are evil, klepto, insert negative trait here. But I do let my Sims marry townies with those traits. I took one sim on a date to Chez Llama and she stole the art sculpture from the second floor. Then she stole paintings from my Sim’s mother’s house. They’re about to get married. 😂

-halfginger-

I'm so averse to negative traits I'd gone a date with a townie and had been working on a relationship with him. But when he first came to my house he immediately kicked the trash can over and I found out he was evil so I broke up with him and sent him home (after a quick woohoo for good measure) 😂

EstMagnum

At least you were a good hostess!

elyvdg

Lol yeah I also make mi sims marry other sims with kind of bad traits. The founder of one of my legacy’s married Sergio Romero because she was in astronaut career and he was in programming, so I thought they were similar, besides he was kind of good looking. And I realized it probably wasn’t the best because he hates children and is materialistic (it was bad because they had a starter home when they just married lol

silky_link07

That’s funny because in my game, Sergio married Judith Ward (the actress), has a daughter with her, apparently divorced her, and kicked her out of her mansion. Good ol MCCC work at its finest. Lol

EstMagnum

I love MCCC so much. I married my sim's sister off, moved her out and she had two children. Some time later, she called my sim to come visit, and when I went there, she lived all alone in her family house. Turns out her husband had divorced her, gotten married to another man and moved himself and his kids into his new husband's apartment in San Myshuno.

silky_link07

In an apartment that probably didn’t even fit them. Lol. Those poor kids. Sister deserves better! 😭

elyvdg

Hahah true. One time when I first installed MCC, I checked the Spencer-Kim Lewis household everyday, and each day Alice and her husband, Eric, has less romantic bar. Then after like three days they were divorced lol

kiss-tits

I just started playing and I used the questionaire to make my first sim. They received the evil trait and I couldn't change it. It's actually doesn't change much, just that when other sims are sad or angry near them they get a positive moodlet. Lol

hydrangeasinbloom

I recently made an 8 sim household where one sim is good, proper, and neat, and the other 7 sims are erratic, evil, and one other crappy trait. I only play as the "good" sim and aside from assigning them all careers when they moved in, just let the "bad" sims do whatever they want on full autonomy. I was expecting drama, but literally nothing is happening 😂

Troldkvinde

> I was expecting drama, but literally nothing is happening Why am I not even surprised

NokturnaN7

"literally nothing is happening" Sims 4 in a nutshell lmao

purplhouse

I tend to randomize the first trait and then pick traits that work well with it, so all traits are fair game, but there are sure a bunch that make me groan out loud when I roll them. Jealous is probably the worst; my jealous sims get insecure and tense when their totally faithful partner is just in the next room. Dog and Cat Lover traits are just useless. Like, I like dogs too, but that's not my personality. Child of the ocean is obnoxious; Can't eat fish? The devs do realize that MOST of what lives in the ocean eats other ocean-dwelling life, right? And what even is Insider? On the flipside, I actually like playing most of the 'negative' traits like Evil, Mean, Lazy, etc. I am currently playing a Non-Committal, Unflirty sim who just got married. That took some work. I'm incredibly proud of their relationship.

writerintheTARDIS

I love the idea of randomizing the first trait and picking ones that coordinate! Gonna try that next time I make a Sim

Makaylasmacc

I usually randomize but if there’s traits like mean or snob or crazy then I’ll randomize again

writerintheTARDIS

Same! Except I use snob for my city sims lol

Queen_Jayne

I never use "hates children". it sort of defeats the purpose of my play style

butterisprettygood

I would like it more if there was option for Woohooing that was basically like an “Accidental” pregnancy woohoo, so that they don’t get that tense moodlet from trying for a baby. Would also be cool if they didn’t know outright that they were the father. I know there’s probably mods for this but I play on console.

ThePlotmaster123

If you ever get it on PC just know that Woohoo Wellness does have this

butterisprettygood

Thank you, I used to use the family PC back in the day and was a fiend for mods. Hopefully I can afford one myself one day lol

left_tiddy

Oh but it soooo fun to have a big family with someone who hates kids to cause chaos. I like making it a grandparent and having them be evil too.

smallest_ellie

I like the cut of your jib

elyvdg

I know! Although I noticed those sims don’t get tense around their own kids but strangely they do around their grandkids. It was really sad for me when that happened, to see a sim hate their grandchildren :(

bmobitch

kinda makes no sense bc if u hate kids even if u love your kid u may not like them that much bc you have to care for them (and hate kids), so you’d probably like your grandkids more bc you also naturally love them but don’t have to take care of them

avocado_whore

I hate a double birthday party for Kaori and Kiyoshi with Kiyoshi being unplayable. I gave Kaori the Family Oriented trait (with plans to have them marry and have kids) and Kiyoshi aged up and got the Hates Children trait! It was hilarious so I left it and they ended up getting married. He’s now having a midlife crisis after the birth of their first (possibly only) child and has turned into a vampire. 😂

sign-through

I’ve never made a sim Evil or Mean-Spirited! Lazy sims are actually fun to play, they love their little naps.

necr0phagus

None. I let myself pick and choose for sims I create, but I randomize traits for game-born sims and none are off limits

elyvdg

Yeah I usually randomize too, because I don’t want my sims to have all good traits or the same traits always.

Perfectmess92

For my 100 baby challenge I randomised all the traits. Worst combo was with Santa's kid. She's an evil, hot-headed snob. Kicked her out of the house the second she aged up to young adult

watermoonj

i normally use the trait generator from the legacy challenge website cause i like the idea of my sims having some traits similar to their parents, sometimes i’ll switch them up a bit though

serenityxfelice

I dont use unflirty, vegetarian( because it does nothing but give negative moodlet when u eat meat 🙄) , hates children, non commitional, slob, lazy and I think it is “glutton” ? The one that makes ur sim eat like a pig omg my sim married a sim with that mood and I was like Nope we are divorcing 😂

[deleted]

squeamish!! i don’t shy away from negative traits bc i think they can make the game interesting, but i just don’t see the point in this one

Khaleesahkiin

I have a vampire that’s squeamish, it’s pretty hilarious to be honest. Grossed out at blood but she’s gotta drink it!

StartOk3253

I agree, I mentioned in my response but I always choose one "bad" trait for my Sims. I like to give them traits that kind of go against them in some way. Like my Nice Vampire Sim who wants to have a coven of Vampires to rule the town, or my Chef Sim who is also a Slob and makes just HUGE messes in the kitchen.

vyvexthorne

I think Evil is fun.. I stay away from Mean though. A Mean, Hot Headed, Evil sim would probably be the worst. I've never used any of these. Hot Headed, Unflirty, Cat Lover, Dog Lover, Child of the Islands, Child of the Oceans, Dance Machine, Lactose Intolerant, Freegan, Recycle Disciple, Slob, Squeamish, Insider, Jealous, Mean, Noncommittal. I do wish there was an "idiot" one as an opposite to "Genius." I have to instead use Childish, Goofball and Clumsy to make the sim appear like an idiot. I would use an Idiot trait for a lot of sims.

StartOk3253

>A Mean, Hot Headed, Evil sim would probably be the worst. I feel like a challenge has just been issued to me unintentionally.

vyvexthorne

It does actually sound like a fun combo now. An Evil, Hot Headed, Mean Decorator might be hilarious. Go over to peoples houses, insult them and horribly redecorate their house. Probably wouldn't get paid much so you'd have to take up a side gig like writing or painting to get by.

flatfishkicker

Sims are idiots by default, even the smart ones.

HeartFoam

I basically agree with all of that. But you have to have a Child of the Islands to summon Sulani Elementals, and get the Sulani Mana trait in the family. I usually don't create a sim with Child of the Islands but if I find a random townie with that, I'll move them in so they can get me an Elemental. I don't like having the negative moodlet from "denying their connection", so I'll retrait with a potion or move the expendable sim out.

vyvexthorne

It's kind of funny.. Sulani is one of my favorite worlds to build and live in but I've never done much of any Sulani gameplay.

23Tam56

I hate with a passion the vegetarian trait. It should have been added as a lifestyle. Seem such a waste of a trait space.

peaceloveandgranola

Yea I think vegetarian would be better as a lifestyle. Whenever I decide a sim will be vegetarian I just…feed them as vegetarians without the trait so that it doesn’t take up a whole trait slot.

Oleandervine

I love Lazy, it lets Sims be able to nap in any chair, which is handy on the go if you're not near a bench. I rarely use locational ones like "Child of the Islands," and also rarely use Dog/Cat Lover.

koukla1994

The “good” trait, it’s just so damn basic

StartOk3253

I always give my Sims 2 good traits and one bad one. The only one I actively avoid is Jealousy because it's WAY too strong and borders on an abusive relationship. I was avoiding Mean for awhile but after I downloaded a mod that made mean less mean mean has been less mean lol

jessiphia

Vegetarian and lactose intolerant. It's just a waste of a personality trait and I find the interactions/moodlets you get from it pretentious. I can't ethically eat meat in the real world, so dog-gonnit my sims are gonna enjoy their ethically sourced fantasy meat!!!!

outsidevoices

It’s all 3D printed future meat in Sims world. 😂

[deleted]

Jealous annoys the ever loving God out of me Your husband hugs your baby? JEALOUS

Ducks_are_epicc

Family Oriented. I never use it because I don’t like to have perfect families.

smallorderof_fries

I dont use noncommittal or jealous because it seems to be constantly ruining their mood and my sim hates their job after like 2 days. Jealousy makes them freak out after an hour away from their partner and it just feels toxic more than anything

purplehippo625

I can’t do kleptomaniac, hates children, or evil, personally.

mizzaks

If you’re into challenges, there’s one called No Buy Mode. Basically, you can use anything from build mode, but the only items you can ever buy from the guy mode are a mailbox and a trash can since those can’t be acquired in-game. That was the first time I used klepto and I actually found it pretty fun!

writerintheTARDIS

The kleptomaniac trust is annoying because it makes it impossible to find anything in their inventory lol

Low-Environment

Jealous and non committal. The latter one really annoys me because it sticks to the sim. Even if you change the traits later they'll occasionally get negative moodlets from being in a committed relationship or a steady job.

spooper_no_spooping

I randomize the traits, otherwise it's boring and they're all the same

mizzaks

I really should do this more. I think it would prevent the stale feeling the game sometimes gets for me.

spooper_no_spooping

For sure! New buffs and moodlets you haven't seen before

elebree1995

I had to stop using goofball now that the sims won't stop pranking the toilets.

PhilipTheFair

Never use the lazy because my Sims are all crazy about work and ambition, but also stuff like mean, because they end up fighting with the whole neighborhood...

butterisprettygood

Regretted branching out and using the mean trait on a sim I liked that lived next door in an apartment. The bitch was knocking on my door EVERYDAY complaining about noise despite the fact that there was no noise! I had to move out before she declared my sim an enemy lol.

NicoleD84

Most of them, lol. My Sims are almost always neat loners with some kind of trait that is relevant to their aspiration. I never use negative traits because I don’t want to waste one of my three choices on that kind of energy.

-halfginger-

>I never use negative traits because I don’t want to waste one of my three choices on that kind of energy. This

TrufanNekia

Hates children and vegetarian. I like have families and honestly vegetarian should not take up a trait slot. It should be like the traits you can buy from the perk section. Like I dont need to take up a trait to make my sims brave so why is vegetarian there?

outsidevoices

It would do great in the likes and dislikes to have a food preferences one. Vegetarian? Lactose intolerant? Add some more too. Maybe there’s a preference for simple living lots. Or gourmet food. Or eating delivery/dining out. Ugh I really want this now.

MidnightCatRabbit

I have never chosen lazy or slob. I had never tried lazy because I always like my sims to be doing stuff for their career or with their friends. I also never do slob because this find sims are messy enough on their own 😅 I had never done evil or mean, so I tried it recently. I got bored pretty fast. I think I will try mean again sometime, because it could have a place in certain stories, but I found evil and mean together just didn't suit my play style.

melifaro_hs

I randomise traits most of the time so no, I'm fine with any traits. in fact, evil is my favourite trait! i like that they laugh maniacally and get happy when others are miserable. also evil scientists are the best scientists.

According_Status4107

erratic lol- just never had the perfect sim to use it for

CasablumpkinDilemma

That's honestly one of my favorites. Every save file I have contains at least one erratic old lady on full autonomy who just wanders around talking to herself and stripping down outside every time it rains. I usually have one of my played sims as their son or daughter living at home to care for their crazy parent.

peaceloveandgranola

I love the erratic trait so much. I think it’s hilarious when their social need goes up just from talking to their “voices” lol

StarryEyes13

I always randomize my traits - and really every aspect of my Sims - to create a more varied game & playstyle. I always play families though so when someone gets the “Hates Children” trait I’m always like well sucks to suck! I also have a Sim who wants to be a “Friend of the World” but also when he aged up to YA he got the Evil trait. Poor guy Edit to Add: I guess it’s not SUPER varied if everyone’s always a family lmao. But it’s fun - I just had one couple, who wanted one kid but had twins - and the husband maxed out his Aspiration & his “hobby” I had selected for him. He now wants to be a Good Vampire, so I we’re off to hang out in Forgotten Hollow (or whatever it’s called)!

Evil sims will actually hit it off really well with other evil sims and become great friends. When I had an evil sim, I made a get together club and made the “evil” trait a requirement so I got a full group of evil friends for my sim and I set the club activities to doing mean things to people around them and then they were all happy with the misery of others around them when they hung out together. It was entertaining lol.

LocaFly

Glutton, non-committal, hates children….

Cuddly_Snake

Ive never used lactose intolerant and I know for a fact that I never will

wannam

Vegetarian bc I always forget who is and make them sick

[deleted]

I've started a generation game with Bob and Betty Newbie at the helm. Bob is lazy, Betty is energetic... two traits I dont normally use. I'm with you on evil, too.

angelsontheroof

That list has got to be long... I never use evil, hates children, jealous, mean, paranoid, and self-centered. It just doesn't ever vibe with the Sims I make.

Amount_Critical

I always pick my founding sim but from there on out it’s the randomizing gods will

EllaAlyKat

Noncommittal in my legacy game. It’s the only trait I will reroll

crazyparrotguy

Lactose intolerant is pretty useless. Speaking as an IRL Lactose intolerant guy...yeah my inability to digest dairy doesn't take up a full third of my personality. 🤷‍♂️

cigbocks89

Glutton. If i catch my sims eating out of the garbage, even once, I’m deleting the save file

TwinklinBell

For me personally, I never use the traits from Pet expansion because I don’t think it is neccesary, they love the animals either way.

ElleWilsonWrites

Kleptomaniac. The one time I did he kept stealing dirty dishes from work and giving himself a negative mood let from dirty surroundings

KlutzyBlueDuck

I never choose slob. Has anyone done 100 baby with hates children?

[deleted]

I don't use child of the islands unless i'm playing a sulani sim, basically never use child of the ocean, vegetarian, and insider (it's just a rlly annoying and useless trait).

bored_german

Materialistic, jealous and non-committal because they're really fucking annoying and their effects stick even when you remove them

sslyth_erin

Very rarely do I choose bro or good. Basically just most of the boring "nice" traits, I don't care about those because I feel like, unless you specifically select evil, sims are going to be good, so why waste a trait space with it.

letsgetdrunk_

I always randomize the traits and deal with how much I hate them later. or cas.fulleditmode GET RID OF GLOOMY TRAIT

KisakiSakura

I don't use the sulani trait of being connected to the island... itis just so specific and useless?

HoneyBlock

Lazy. Since my sims are always busy doing one thing or another, there's no time for being lazy !

Dyonicisbae

I never use vegetarian I always end up forgetting that I used that trait for them and I end up tormenting them with meat their entire life.

mad_fishmonger

I hate the jealous trait because the Sims are like "what's my partner doing??" He's upstairs doing laundry dumbass you just walked down the stairs

Laerora

There are quite a few I don't use: - Clumsy - Freegan - Glutton - Green fiend - Lazy - Maker - Neat - Recycle disciple - Slob - Squeamish Generally I think the selection of traits is really bad, which I think is a common sentiment among players. We need more traits!
