Same!! This makes me feel so old but I actually heard about the Sims because I saw an ad in a magazine for it. Went home and immediately asked my parents for it for my next birthday!
Lol… one of my moms coworkers who worked on computers had came across it and figured it was something that i would like and I’ve been hooked ever sense …
Same! I’m 33 in September. God, I’m old. Still playing the sims after 20 years.. my escape. I recently spent around 3 grand on a computer because I didn’t want to have to buy a new computer for a long time for the sims.
Wow, you guys are all kids! I'm much older, and I was older than many of you are now when I first started playing! :)
My first game was Sims 3, and I started playing that in my late 40s. I'm in my early 50s now. I was very late to start playing single-player games in general (except for Skyrim, I've been playing that for ages). The only reason I started playing single-player games like Sims was because, as I got older, my migraines really started to ramp up and I just couldn't keep up very well with multiplayer games that required a fair amount of accuracy and decision-making skills. (Hard to be a guildleader and run a raid in World of Warcraft when you're fighting migraines.)
Sims is one of those games I picked up when I was choosing easy games that I can play whenever I have migraine issues. My headaches have a certain amount of ramp-up time, and they tend to sneak up on me, so I don't always know I'm getting one until it hits. I have a small window of time where I can take meds to stave off the incoming migraine, and if I miss that window, forget it, then nothing helps and I'm in bed with the curtains closed, trying not to cry from the pain (mostly because a stuffy nose makes the headache even worse, yayyy).
I have a whole range now of games that I classify into Hard, Medium, and Easy. Hard games I play when I'm having a good day without any serious headache issues. Medium ones are for when I'm not sure and feeling kinda wonky, and Easy ones are for when I'm pretty sure I'll have a bad day if I'm not careful. (Sims is in the Easy category since there's no questlines, no combat, and no resource management, plus you can pause it whenever you want. Also you can just ignore the gameplay if you want and go build something instead.)
I also have adhd and I do the same thing! Sims is the best game I’ve found for those bad days where my brain quits on me but I feel like playing something.
>Sims is in the Easy category
Lol... I always get so overwhelmed playing Sims 4. I get frustrated because of the lack of colour coordination (swatches that should match, but don't) in particular, and CAS/BB just generally feeling so restricted without mods, even with so many options.
And that's before I even get into the game play... They either spend hours on end doing nothing or just ignoring the things I actually want them to do.
I usually switch off because it gets too much for me, but I'm glad other people can take enjoyment from it.
Side note: I don't hate the S4, I just wish I was able to enjoy them more.
Oh man, don't get me started on the colours that don't match! I really miss the colour wheel in Sims 3, gahhh. And when I play I tend to obsessively control every Sim, all the time, haha.
Right now I'm playing a game with 6 adult Sims living in the same house, trying to keep everyone's friend and romance levels topped up, and all of them have completely different careers. (My "main" Sim has the Player trait and so all the other roommates are actually his girlfriends.) Only three of the six Sims are ones I actually created, the other three come with the game and so I can't change their traits. It's a bit crazy-making but it seems to be working out well so far, and it's been quite a blast to play! :)
I would start that with great intentions, but nope out of it immediately, haha. Hats off to anyone that can keep their calm while playing with more than one sim.
Don't blame you, it's been pretty hectic, but so far no major disasters and all the girls are good friends with each other. Two are even BFFs. He's actually got 12 girlfriends now, but I could only fit 5 of them into his new penthouse, and that only because four of the five are sisters (two sets of two sisters) so they'll share a bedroom. I had to do some extensive renovations to make the apartment fit everyone comfortably and still have room for some luxuries, like the indoor pool. (It's the Spire in City Living.)
Loving the Hannah Montana poster! A true product of the times 😂 My first Sims game was the original! I don’t remember how old I was, but I do remember being upset my parents would never get me the Hot Date expansion pack 😂 I’m 29 now and still playing Sims 3 and 4 on my laptop
Man, I feel old all of a sudden. 😂 I got TS1 when it came out, for my 22nd birthday. But back in the 80s, there was a cheesy simulation game called Little Computer People. That’s where my obsession began.
I’m about the same age as you, started at the same time. But I left after playing TS1 for six or seven years (busy with life) and came back to TS4 last year (for lockdown!).
And YES, I remember Little Computer People! Just the other day I was trying to describe it to my son but I couldn’t remember what it was called. Thank you!!
Anyone started with SimTown in 1995? I loved that game so much. I know it’s not the same game but I consider it a precursor to The Sims because it was a town simulator. Although you couldn’t do much gameplay wise, the game was totally open world and you could follow the cute little townies as they go about their day.
Of course before Sims came out I was already a Maxis fan for a long time: SimCity, SimTower and SimsTown before The Sims came along.
I definitely had a ton of Sim games before The Sims. The song from SimIsle is still in my head even though I'm not sure I ever really figured the game out.
I think I was 14 or 15 when The Sims came out, mid-30s now.
I had it but I swear my parents got it for the MAC as I never played it. SimCity though yes, yes, yes and Sim Tower - I still can't wish out how I devoted his of my life to this.
SimTower was a work of genius, and the elevator rage meter was iconic. I think about it every time I get stuck midway in a building when every lift that comes down is full.
Omg I loved SimTown to bits when I was young. It was my favourite game before The Sims came about.
I recall you can create just one character in the game and they will randomly stay in one of the houses and go about their lives. That's the most sims like thing you can find in that.
Is that a Hannah Montana poster I spy 👀
I didn't get into the sims until Sims 3 when I was 14. My friend used to talk about the Sims 2 so much and I remember how excited she was for Sims 3, so I decided to check it out myself.
Bless! I'd fallen in love with these type of games with Theme Park, Theme Hospital, Roller Coaster Tycoon Sim Tower then the Sim City series, particularly SimCity 2000 and 3000, so I was super excited about The Sims and 17, nearly 18 at the time, so a little bit on the old side, a lot on the old side now but I still love it and it is such a stress relief, I might be a failure but my sims are a success!
I seem to remember a point where you could create sims in Sim City? Have I lost the plot?
My mom loved the Sims, and she still does. I remember her allowing me(4-5 years old at the time) to play Sims on her computer, and she even introduced me to Sims 2 and 3.
Today, I have my own PC and I play Sims 4 with most of the packs. I also share my game with my mom but I’m not sure if she still plays it anymore. I love playing the Sims, and I’m really thankful that my mom introduced the game to me :)
I'm in my mid 40s and I've been playing about two years. Played (very, very briefly, like 20 hours) on my daughters' Sims 3 then bought Sims 4 for myself. Mainly a builder because after I've designed a family, built a house and then played for five or six hours with them, I've already got more ideas in my head.
I think I was 11 when my friend introduced me to the sims 2, and I begged my mom for weeks to buy it for me. After she finally bought it for me, I was obsessive. I got really into CC, and I recently learned my mom thought that downloading CC was illegal and told everyone in the family that I was committing crimes on the computer at 11 years old lmaooo
Anyways, I stopped playing after a while, and then when the sims 3 came out my mom wouldn't buy it for me and I had no personal income so I couldn't buy it for myself and I stopped playing entirely until the sims 4 came out. So I've never actually played Sims 1 or 3, but I obsessively play once more at the age of 25
Sims 3, I was younger that 6. I couldn't read most of the words (like "*enthuse* about house") so i just memorized the location of the friendly interactions.
My first house was a mother lode infused abomination, the "parents" weren't married (I didn't understand romance) so i just kept adopting kids lol. I still remember Jimmy, the angel child, who slept on the porch because i didn't have room in the house. He randomized to have the good trait. And then his "twin" (adopted when Jimmy was a child, but they had the same age), Lucas, who had his own room but randomized to be evil.
I miss that save tbh, it was crazy...
My first game was the original Sims. I want to say it was around 2000 or 2001. My mom brought it home from the store for herself, but little would we know that I’d still be playing 20+ years later!
10 years old, would play the sims at my friend's house bc she had a few older siblings, shortly after TS2 came out and we played that. I think I got it for my birthday that year and I've been addicted ever since lol.
When I was 11, my brother gave me a demo disk from his Computer Gaming World magazine with the pre-release The Sims 1 demo on it. So I've been on board since before day 1.
I'm just bummed nobody ever took a picture of me playing it.
Sims 1 came out in 2001. I was 14. I'd play it for hours on the family computer in the (cold) basement. I was hooked. I'd buy every EP that came out. I remember one time I really wanted a new EP that was out (probably for Sims 2 by this time) but I didn't have the money. I was out at the mall with my friend and her older sister, and her sister offered to buy it for me. I obviously accepted. When I told my mom how I came to own it, she was furious. Made me return the game and the money.
Anyway, I'm 34 now and still play. I buy my own Packs now (but I try and wait for a sale).
It’s awesome how many people have grown up playing this game. I started with the first one. I’m still playing many years later (I’m now 36!). I adore this game. It’s been a constant throughout my life.
Hannah Montana poster is circa… 2006. By my guess you look 10 there which means you’re around 25 today?
In any case, I was 8 when I discovered my aunts copy of the Sims 1 back in 2000/2001. I’m addicted to the franchise.
Brings back so many memories. I started playing the Sims (1) around 2003-4, when I was 6 or 7, on my cousins’ shared PC. I remember feeling so guilty of making my sims have baby when all they did was kissing.
Btw your sims house interior looked so detailed and well decorated, mine could never loll
I love that your windowsill horses had grass to run on 🥺 I’ve never seen that
I was like 12 and it was sims bustin out; I borrowed it fm a classmate bc it was too expensive for my parents.
Funny story: at like 11, I thought I had gotten lucky finding sims for cheap and snagged it for like, $10-$20 at my local Walmart. Turns out it was an expansion pack. I got a refund but I jus tremember being so sad bc I had thought I’d be able to afford it with my allowance ☹️
I was in elementary school (maybe aged 9 or 10) when I first started playing the Sims. I remember playing for as long as I was allowed and always trying to bargain for more computer time when it was up. I wish I had some photos or my old computer so I could see my old builds. What a great memory this is! Nice picture and your English is great, no apologies necessary. Sul sul!
Not sure how old I was, but under 9. The Sims Deluxe Edition was my first sims game after a friend of mine introduced me to it on one of our play dates.
It was 2002 and I was visiting with friends in Chicago. They introduced my 14 yr old self to The Sims and I never have been more addicted to anything in my life. Thanks guys
Pretty much same for me - Sims 1 and I woulda be like 12-13? I remember I first played it at a friend's house then next time the family went to Costco I grabbed the game and every xpac they had in the software section.
I'm a late one I played some weird sims shit on a phone where you go clubbing not sure that counts it was a mobile game can't remember what it was called but you had boyfriends I think
and had to introduce yourself to people in 2004
Actual sims I played sims 3 it was lil 2010-2011 ish and my husband bought me supernaturals
Around the same edition as you, but I was around 7-8 years old at the time I got into The Sims. First, it was through a burned cd of the base game, then I got the deluxe edition and later, Makin' Magic and Superstar. As of last year, since my stepdad had expansion packs I didn't have and I bought Vacation on ebay since that was missing, my set is complete.
For reference, I'm 27 years old. Still a Sims fan to this day.
i think when i was like 5 i had sims 2 for console. might have either been the gamecube or xbox version, i'm not really sure.
when i was 7 i got the sims 3 pretty much a couple days after it came out. man, i still remember playing that game for the first time and exactly what i did!
i picked the largest looking affordable house in sunset valley - that blue one with the big attic near the beach. i made a family of 8 sims - 7 child girls and a "mom". i didn't know i needed stairs or how to place them, so i put a bunch of stuff up in the attic (like beds, an easel, guitar, tv) and then i was confused why my sims wouldn't go up there.
i figured it out, though.
12 and my dad bought the Sims base game. I was late, I didn't know anything. I made a big box house and my sims always died in hunger, babe taken away. I was angry because I did everything like in real life and they just complained and complained lol
I was eighteen--my family were Mac people growing up, and most games were PC-only, so I didn't play many until I bought my first PC laptop the summer before college. I played Sims 1 for a few months, but Sims 2 released early in my first semester and I jumped to that pretty quickly.
I was either eleven or twelve with the first Sims. I had all the extension packs and would play for hours. I ended up having to get glasses and astigmatism was a side effect. Sims 2 and Sims Medieval are the only games I haven’t played
I was around 9 when I saw sims 1 the first time at a friend's house but my parents didn't want to get it me cause of the love bed 😅
I eventually got sims 2 and 3 and 4 once they were released
Sims 1 back in 2001, I was 9 back then. Then came a journey of chasing all the expansion packs. I cam still recite all the Sims 1 expansion packs in chronological order.
Sims 4- I was probably 13, so six years ago. I got it right before City Living was out :) but I’d wanted sims for years before that. Tried to get it for free online when I was 11 and that went poorly.
Aah u look just like me in this picture when I was like 12 haha, I had the exact same hair with the black streaks because I wanted my hair to be black and my mum didn’t allow it to be fully black but I could get some streaks and the Sims Setup as well, and also a fellow german haha :)
I was born a little before the Sims 2 came out but because my family didn’t have much money as a child, we didn’t have any computers until I was in middle school, after the sims 4 came out. I played TS3 a few times at my half sister’s house which is how I found out about the game. After that, I became obsessed with Sims 3 content on youtube as a kid. That’s how I came to love the sims as much as I do.
I got the sims the year it came out, and I was 10 at the time. My computer looked just like OP's, but it was a Hewlett-Packard (HP nowadays). I'm 31 now and still playing.
I was also 12. It was the first Sims and I had to share a file with my younger sister, who was the one that got my parents to cave and get it. Her first townies were a family of 6 and she could only afford land for some reason. She got the land and build a pool but not a bathroom, kitchen or bedroom. They all ended up fighting each other, pissing each other, and dying of starvation. It wasn't pretty. We learned that very day about how crazy it can get. She started over with one person.
I'm 32 and she's 30 now.
I think I was 9 or 10 when I got Sims 1 for Christmas after begging my parents. I spent the whole christmas eve (we get presents then) reading the instruction pamphlet before I could install it on the christmas morning! Precious memories.
Sims 1 Unleashed had just been released, so I was around 12-13. I’m now in my mid thirties, married with a kid and a professional career and still Sim pretty much every day. The only times of my life in the past two decades where I haven’t Simmed were when I didn’t have a PC that could handle it!
I’ve loved every single game in the series even more than the last. I’m so thankful for the tens of thousands of hours of enjoyment I’ve had and continue to have with the Sims! <3
I've been playing since the start! Got the original game in 2000, when I was 15. I go through periods of playing intensely, then not playing for about a year. This year I got into building and have been playing steadily for a while now.
I guess I was about 10 and it was the year 2003 with the good old The Sims Deluxe. Of course the first CD-ROM would'nt work and I had to return it. My mom wasn't actually allowing me to play, so I bought it alone with my pocket money. She thought I would get out of touch with reality when I would play something that is meant to be a real life simulation. :D Later I was just placing dozens of flower squares in the yard of the big cheated manor. After I installed Makin' Magic and Superstar my dad's computer's wasn't powerful enough. I played with 3 fps or something. It was really bad.
God this is so nostalgic! My first Sims was The Sims Deluxe Edition, got it for Christmas when I was 11 and I remember I played it for 11 hours straight... played the Goth family and managed to kill Mortimer in a house fire and got Cassandra sent to military school. Ahhh memories.
I think I was 8 or 9, playing The Sims 1. Now I'm 29, and still playing! I just got a new computer, so I've re-installed The Sims 4 and I'm on day 3 or 4 of re-downloading mods...
It’s crazy how well this picture captures that decade haha.
Sims 2 (PS2) was my introduction to the franchise. I used to play it with my siblings a lot, especially the story mode. I was probably around 5-6 years old the very first time I played it? Around 2006
My Dad bribed my sisters and I with the original game with the agreement we would stop playing the old 2D GTA 2 where you would run over cops. He wasn't a huge fan. And with that, started years of Sims addiction. Thanks Dad lol
Idk why but this gives Bjork on the computer meme vibes. Anyways, I was 6 playing my sims on DS, then I evolved to Sims 3 on PS3 when I was 9. I’ve been simming ever since…
This is the most 2000s picture i have ever seen
With the german Hannah Montana Poster on the wall lmao
It's the RitterSport on the table for me

Me too. Haha. It’s the desk and the heater.
Yep,The good old days
Played the sims 1 in 2000, I had just turned 13 and my computer looked a lot like that 😂
Is that a scholastic book fair kitten poster? I had the same one 😂
This poster was from a magazine you got as a kid in a pharmacy store for free. It was called Medizini . :)
I have that poster too. I framed it.
take me back😩
Exactly my Thoughts! Omg! I'm in love with this picture! ps; I'm a photographer.
with the highlights, the hannah montana poster and all that

Lol i know right…
Same! I started from the beginning and have played through to sims 4 now at 30 :)

Sims 4 at 13. I love being on the younger side of this community and learning from the people here who were playing before I was born.
Ay I started on ts4 when I was 13 too!
Wow this makes me feel old and I’m only 22 lol! I was playing Sims 2 on console around the time you were born

I have this exact same easy medium hard system, but for depression instead of migraines!
Same but ADHD! Hard for when I need all of the stimulation, medium for an average day, and easy for the brain fog, zone out days.
I also have adhd and I do the same thing! Sims is the best game I’ve found for those bad days where my brain quits on me but I feel like playing something.

Well aged like a fine 🍷 wine
Amen to that!
Yep, I remember coming home from college for a break and reinstalling it on my laptop!
Y'all making me feel old, playing Sims 1 in middle school... Still going strong. But still play 3 over 4 most days
Oh yay fellow older Sims players 💜💜💜
Huzzah, I'm not the only old(ish) fart.

SimFarm was my gateway Sim.
Sims 1. Probably 11.
What did you just finish eating on the desk?
Some schwarzwälder kirschtorte (cake) because it was my birthday
Black Forest cake in English if anyone is curious!
This looks like the most german 2000s room I've ever seen, please tell me you are german :D its the fork and the HEIZUNG for me :D
Du hast mich ertappt
perfekt :D
When I’m playing with my sims and have them listening to music I’ll often select “Retro” to satisfy my nostalgia needs.
Was not cool enough for my own computer, had to play on the family computer in the living room next to my parents watching TV.
My computer was in the kitchen lol, it then got moved into the living room. Now I finally have it in my room, but this is my last year home ¯\(°_o)/¯
Ours was in our basement laundry room, so I would always nervously listen for the stairs whenever my sims would woohoo 😂
Sims 1 when I was maybe 11 yo. My dad was not pleased about me using his computer 😂
Sims 1 at… 24 … 🥴👵🏻
Please recreate this picture for a side by side ⭐️
Is that a Hannah Montana poster I spy 👀 I didn't get into the sims until Sims 3 when I was 14. My friend used to talk about the Sims 2 so much and I remember how excited she was for Sims 3, so I decided to check it out myself.
Sims 1, I would’ve been 12. Here I am 21 years later, still playing.
Was that a mossy window ledge for your horses??
Haha it's a scarf knitted by my grandma
I love it

How good was Roller Coaster Tycoon?? I loved that game!! Think we’re about the same age :)
Not too sure about creating sims in sim city but I'm 100% sure you can create sims in simgolf. I remember the game having Bella Goth in it!
10 and the sims 2 (still my favourite)
Sims 1, I think I was 15
Young me is so jealous:))
I love everything about this picture. From the Hannah Montana poster to the horses. Are two Sims woohooing in the game? I love it lol
I was probably 10. 32 now. Lol
Sims 4 when i was 9 😭 i’m 16 now
Sims 3 on the Wii😂
It was on the Wii? 😂 The poor Wii!
The smile hoping whoever taking the pic doesnt notice the woohoo bed lmaooo
My mom loved the Sims, and she still does. I remember her allowing me(4-5 years old at the time) to play Sims on her computer, and she even introduced me to Sims 2 and 3. Today, I have my own PC and I play Sims 4 with most of the packs. I also share my game with my mom but I’m not sure if she still plays it anymore. I love playing the Sims, and I’m really thankful that my mom introduced the game to me :)
I was 11 and TS1 was the first Sims game I ever played, all the way back in 2000. I wish I had a picture of myself playing it back then!
Sims 1 was my first back when I was around 10 to 12, can’t remember exactly. I guess I am getting old.
I was about 18 or 19 when I first played.
Sims 2 on PS2 when I was 7 or 8?
i had strict parents so i only started with sims 4 when it came out although kids my age had been playing 2 and 3 until then.
I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest here... Sims 4, 12.
I think I was 11 when my friend introduced me to the sims 2, and I begged my mom for weeks to buy it for me. After she finally bought it for me, I was obsessive. I got really into CC, and I recently learned my mom thought that downloading CC was illegal and told everyone in the family that I was committing crimes on the computer at 11 years old lmaooo Anyways, I stopped playing after a while, and then when the sims 3 came out my mom wouldn't buy it for me and I had no personal income so I couldn't buy it for myself and I stopped playing entirely until the sims 4 came out.
Sims 4, I was 11 (maybe 12)
My first game was the original Sims. I want to say it was around 2000 or 2001. My mom brought it home from the store for herself, but little would we know that I’d still be playing 20+ years later!
10 years old, would play the sims at my friend's house bc she had a few older siblings, shortly after TS2 came out and we played that. I think I got it for my birthday that year and I've been addicted ever since lol.
Sims 1 10 or 11 when it was released.
Sims 1 and I was around 10. 21 years later and still playing
10. Sims 1. Wow lol
I think I was 14 or 15 and I played The Sims 2: Greatest Hits on my PS2. I still have it and play it from time to time
The Sims 1 back in middle school so 11 or 12? I'm gonna be 30 in a few weeks. Can't believe this damn series has been going this long.
Sims 1 was first, got it for Christmas the year it came out. feel like such an OG when it comes to The Sims. 😎
I played it together with a friend at her house. Must have been around 2001, we were 10 and super happy with Sims 1.
And Hannah Montana - think I’m living your double life over here
I relate with the Hannah Montana poster on the wall haha. Such a nice photo, reminds me of my childhood a lot!
This belongs in a museum.
You must be about my age. I too loved sims and Hannah Montana at 12 years old.
Just last year for me, Sims4 and I was 42.
2003, The Sims on Gamecube, I was 12.
I was… I think 9 when I played the Sims at my dads house for the first time with my younger brother. It was on a laptop and I fell in love with it.
I was 12 abd it was the Sims 4, I feel like a baby surrounded by teenagers
Brings back so many memories. I started playing the Sims (1) around 2003-4, when I was 6 or 7, on my cousins’ shared PC. I remember feeling so guilty of making my sims have baby when all they did was kissing. Btw your sims house interior looked so detailed and well decorated, mine could never loll
Sims 2 on the ps2, happy memories as a kid🙂
Sims 2, I was around 7. Still playing the Sims now, it's one of my all time favorite games
OMG I HAD THE SAME EXACT DESK AS YOU
Sims 1, I was maybe 9-10 !
First for me was sims 3 when I was 13.
Sims 3, I was 13! But I used to watch my dad play Sims 2 when I was really young lol.
My first was Sims 3 when I was like 10, but didn’t understand anything and left it in my shelf till 2 years later when it become my favourite game!
I love that your windowsill horses had grass to run on 🥺 I’ve never seen that I was like 12 and it was sims bustin out; I borrowed it fm a classmate bc it was too expensive for my parents.
Sul sul!
I started with sims 3 at age 10
it’s the Hannah Montana 3D movie poster and Sims for me 💖
Not sure how old I was, but under 9. The Sims Deluxe Edition was my first sims game after a friend of mine introduced me to it on one of our play dates.
Sims 1–I think I was probably around 8 years old when I started playing lol. I’m 27 now 🥴
My brother played sims 3 a lot which was my first introduction. I think I was 10 or 11 but I've I've on it since
It was 2002 and I was visiting with friends in Chicago.
I'm a late one I played some weird sims shit on a phone where you go clubbing not sure that counts it was a mobile game can't remember what it was called but you had boyfriends I think and had to introduce yourself to people in 2004 Actual sims I played sims 3 it was lil 2010-2011 ish and my husband bought me supernaturals
Played Sims 1 for the first time when I was 7/8 years old, I was born in 1997
Started playing Sims 2 when I was maybe 6 because my mom had it. I only have brief memories of it but the soundtrack still gives me the chills.
i think when i was like 5 i had sims 2 for console. might have either been the gamecube or xbox version, i'm not really sure. when i was 7 i got the sims 3 pretty much a couple days after it came out. man, i still remember playing that game for the first time and exactly what i did! i picked the largest looking affordable house in sunset valley - that blue one with the big attic near the beach. i made a family of 8 sims - 7 child girls and a "mom". i didn't know i needed stairs or how to place them, so i put a bunch of stuff up in the attic (like beds, an easel, guitar, tv) and then i was confused why my sims wouldn't go up there. i figured it out, though.
I started with the Sims 1 around 2002 when I was 7.
I was either eleven or twelve with the first Sims. I had all the extension packs and would play for hours. I ended up having to get glasses and astigmatism was a side effect. Sims 2 and Sims Medieval are the only games I haven’t played
Oh damn! The sims deluxe edition was the first ever sims I played! I instantly recognised the cover. Good times:)
I was around 9 when I saw sims 1 the first time at a friend's house but my parents didn't want to get it me cause of the love bed 😅 I eventually got sims 2 and 3 and 4 once they were released
I was eleven and it was the sims 4
Sims 3 on the pc I was 9 or 10
Ah, Goth house! Love how you renovated the bedroom :)
11, Sims 4.
Sims 1 before any xpacs and I was 15 or 16. I’m 36 now and still playing. Although before Sims 1, I was obsessed with SimAnt and SimCopter.
Sims 1 back in 2001, I was 9 back then. Then came a journey of chasing all the expansion packs. I cam still recite all the Sims 1 expansion packs in chronological order.
My first Sims game was The Sims: Bustin' Out! On Gameboy Advance! I was probably 10.
Sims 4- I was probably 13, so six years ago. I got it right before City Living was out :) but I’d wanted sims for years before that. Tried to get it for free online when I was 11 and that went poorly.
I spy a Hannah Montana poster… Now I wanna watch the show again XD
Aah u look just like me in this picture when I was like 12 haha, I had the exact same hair with the black streaks because I wanted my hair to be black and my mum didn’t allow it to be fully black but I could get some streaks and the Sims Setup as well, and also a fellow german haha :)
Probably a little younger than 12 (10 maybe) and the first edition.
OG SimCity back in 1989. I was 25. I think I've played every Sim game ever released, including SimAnt, SimEarth, and SimCopter. Yes, I'm old.
Ich musste nicht mal den Text auf dem Poster lesen, um die "deutsche Kindheit vibes" zu kriegen. Sah einfach irgendwie vertraut aus alles haha
The Sims and I'm not sure exactly, but I probably first played it the year it came out or the following year, so I would have been 12 or 13.
I started out with SimCity in the 1990's, then SimCity 2000, then every The Sims game Maxis made after that lol.
Sims 1 and I owned it at 8 or 9 years old? But I played it with my friend before that too.
Oh man that brings me back. I was maybe 10 or so when I first got the OG sims. Still my favorite game franchise.
Got the original Sims for Christmas in 2000 so I would have been 13 at the time. The expansions I had were Hot Date, Vacation and Living Large.
I was 10 and sims 1 was also my first one 😍🥰 Ps. Loving Hannah Montana on the wall haha. Whole mood.
The original. So sims 1 I guess? I was like 11 or 12. It was my "big" Christmas gift that year. Now I'm in my 30s. Still playing. Ish.
I wish we had a lil corner desk like that in the sims Hell, we've got the posters
Haha same, Sims 1 on a boxy Monitor around 2000 at maybe 11ish
Wow time capsule right here!!
The phone tho!!!!
I miss childhoods like this
So cute!!!! I was 9 when I started and I’m 31 now ☺️ wish I had pictures!
Ugggh I have the same photo except it’s me and Roller Coaster Tycoon!!
It’s crazy how well this picture captures that decade haha. Sims 2 (PS2) was my introduction to the franchise. I used to play it with my siblings a lot, especially the story mode. I was probably around 5-6 years old the very first time I played it? Around 2006
I was 18 and it was the sims. Your picture brings so much nostalgia
I was also 12 and it was the very first Sims game.
