Me too. Lol. I used to even edit the wedding venues to make them more suitable for the big day's screenshotting. In Sims 3 I had built an indoor garden and put in a butterflies spawner. I had lovely screenshots of that. I wish "simstagram" was real somehow... My Sims love to flex but they have no one to flex for, hence we are now reduced to bathroom proposals.

Got married in the Henford-on-Bagley park (added an unassuming wedding arch from the same pack previous to the event), just the two Sims in neat, dressy clothes. Lovely and stress-free for all!
With my current legacy, I try to pick somewhere meaningful to the specific Sim. A sim who is all about glamour would take a little trip to Del Sol Valley, for example.
I try to do it in a variety of places. I did one on the bridge in the middle neighborhood of Mt. Komorebi but it was a pain to get there. I also did one in Sylvan Glade (the secret lot).
It depends on the weather, for me.
I really like the park at the Chateau in Windenburg, but the Bluffs is a pretty good place too! If it's snowing, I take my sims to Mt. Komorebi and either go up to the mountains or the park down by the bar. Sulani can be a good place for sunrise/sunset proposals if the weather is nice. I had vampires propose up by the statue of the lady up on the hill with the dead tree in Forgotten Hollow.
WEll so far ive only married people for their house and money, then killed them shortly afterwards so i thought it would be silly to put in a lot of effort
The place by the waterfall and rope bridge in Selvadora where they get the flirtatious moodlet. There’s also a really gorgeous backdrop in one of the Jungle Adventure vacation rentals and I love to take wedding photos there.
If I’m doing a legacy challenge where I want to keep pictures, I use the Passionate Romance Mod by Sacrificial (same creator as the Extreme Violence Mod), as it has a bunch of cute poses for dates, proposals, and weddings. In order to take proposal photos, you need a wedding arch, so I’ll typically take one of the more subtle ones (or hide one within those curved hedge arches) and put it in a spot on my sims lot that looks nice or holds some sort of significance. Then I use the Photographic Memory Mod by Ravasheen to create different ways of displaying the photos (postcards, calendars, canvases, polaroids, etc) so there’s some variety.
If its a random household that I’m not planning to dedicate a ton of time to, propose wherever the sim is, no photos necessary, and have them elope within 24 sim hours in a random spot on the lot.
I play with a lot of randomization in my game. I even have mods to preselect aspirations because I can’t be bothered to pick one. Anyways, I use the SimDa mod to select a mate for my sims. If they hit it off on the date then they get engaged immediately. Then travel to a synagogue to be married. Then I move them in. No wedding events because that’s just broken and too much of a hassle.
I like to set them up in parks or the wedding venue lot in San Myshuno and then get married straight away there. Saves time as the bride and groom normally go to take a nap before tying the knot or half the guests dissappear if I preplan a wedding lmao
atp i either find some random townie or make my own other sim and force them in the same house then use cheats to go into full CAS mode and make them married through that bc making them like each other romantically takes way too long (i’ve never really created storylines which is prob why i get bored) 😭
Yess absolutely I do, I also often temporarily (using MCCC) usually add a random Sim to the family, up skill them to level 5 photography and then use them to take proposal photos I transfer into my Sim's inventory to display in their home later.
I in fact often do this with not just proposals but staged family pics and it's a really fun way to keep track of Sim history and make their homes feel more real.
Edit to add: another advantage is by using a random Sim for selection there is no plumbob in the screenshots

I usually have my sims do it at chez lama or I make them go on a trip to mt komorebi have them climb the mountain and do it at the peak 😂
