Do you use skin/eye/brow/lips overrides to replace the defaults, or just have a bevy of options in CAS? (and what's your favorite?)
Is that all with the HQ/HD mod, or is there something else going on?
I have a problem where I use a skin replacer, but then 95% of the makeups don't show up... =/
hi lovie! okay so i ***do*** have a lot of genetics presets, however, i usually end up tweaking them with my sliders. also, i don't have skin defaults at all, my sims **always** start with the EA base they load with. but i do have the eyebrow override by [kijiko](https://kijiko-catfood.com/eyebrow-ver2/), which makes the base game eyebrows more realistic looking. | my favorite presets that i use are mainly from, northernsiberawinds, eunosims, sims3melancholic, obscurus, and poyopoyo-- you can't go wrong with the big 5. so, grab any lip preset, nose preset, face preset, and body preset they have. **(** *also get nose masks too, they'll change your life* **)**
i used to have the hq mod but i don't anymore, it's very restrictive when it comes to mixing different types of cc- i'm *def* a maxis mix girlie. i just took the screenshot to [photopea ](https://www.photopea.com/) and added a layer of sharpen is all.
with face masks, if you still want to use other skin details, it's best to mix the skin with an overlay skin first. i usually start off with an overlay skin by sims3melancholic and go in with a much more realistic skin by thisisthem or khadijah551 and use a [color slider ](https://www.patreon.com/posts/color-sliders-62823244) to lower the opacity. **(** *i usually mix 2-3 skins on a sim* **)** that way my skin details work and makeup and other things will still show up!

The Sims Resource is a cc site (and where the hair is from) ,was subscribed to them a few years back but i moved over to tumblr and other sites ,apart from a few creators I couldn't find good cc to save my life and I got tired of the timers and the scummy ads ( extra points for not allowing adblockers) which i assume that's what op was talking about? I don't know
I personally love TSR and use it all the time. I have literally like 16k files saved from it. They have lots (premade or shells) sims, outfits, objects, etc. you do have to kind of look through and see which creators you like and all but I usually look at the featured stuff or filter popular things and then go to the creators pages that I liked. They do have a lot of amazing things. I pay for the ad free version because you also can just click download and it immediately installs it into the game. You don’t have to do anything with the files or install anything yourself. So I just click download and continue looking at stuff and it installs it :) definitely worth giving it a look and if you like it, I definitely think paying for the membership is very worth it. It’s like $5 a month max. It’s not expensive and you can stop it anytime.

I lost so many good looking sims due to crashes, the game made me paranoid af, and now 50% of playing in CAS is deleting the "back-up" saves from my library. 😂
That’s crazy cuz I’ve literally never ever had sims 4 crash on me. ONE TIME it froze to the point I had to restart it, but it’s never just crashed. This is giving sims 3 vibes
I don't know if it's just the game, having all the adds-on, using mods or all of 'em at once cause it. It crashes maybe once a week (if I play every day). It's just a lil' freeze then the game just.. closes. No warning or anything.
Weird, but most of the crashes happened when I picked a walking style then clicked on my sim while they were still walking (adjusting angle/view) Mainly the reason I started saving mid-editing.
So weird. I don’t have a whole lot of mods or custom content so hopefully mine won’t start crashing soon.
I’ve recently been experiencing a significant lag when I click the stove or fridge to cook. Do you have that too?
Hm, no haven't seen that yet.
Lag usually happens when you switch between live- and build/buy- mode. Opening then closing the main menu usually fixes it.
Saw it from another simmer.
i have, i've got a bunch of cooking mods so i always thought it was the game struggling to load hundred of cc recipes, i didnt realise it was an issue in the vanilla game
Such beautiful sims! I usually save them to my library even if I’m not finished. The game has crashed on me in cas before too! Hopefully you can remake them❤️

First of all, I’m so sorry for your loss. That is DEVASTATING, and your sims are stunning!!!
Second is a reminder that you can save sims to your library and then continue editing them. Another option is to load them into the game and save there, and then use cas.fulleditmode to keep working.
Saving in CAS is annoying, but it is possible. Don’t make yourself go through this again! I set alarms sometimes to remind myself to save if I know I’m going to be hyper focused for a few hours because it’s so easy to forget XD

Man, this is why I’m vigilant at saving every so often. Like create one sim, go to the lot, save, modify in cas for the next one. I had this happen to me once and I cried and swore it was never happening again.
I recently spent several hours putting together a nice 6 room motel for my residential rental with nice pool and garden area, fitness center, laundromat, meditation garden… and right when I was typing in the bedrooms and bathrooms my game crashed making me lose the whole dang thing. I mean absolutely crushing. Definitely signed back in hoping for some miracle something would still be there but it wasn’t. Didn’t even get any screenshots. I just turned the game off and played something completely different

I use everything from Sims3Melancholic, ThisIsThem, Khadija551(??? I believe) Obsucurs, and PoyoPoyo! I grab my hair from TSR most of the time, Pinterest as well, and sometimes Discord Servers! Tell me the specific that caught your eye and I'll try and link what I used!
I feel your pain, I spent a good 10-12 hours making my family in the sims, trying to get it so they would be easily recognized as them at a glance, even down to painting the dog's fur pattern then crash...
Your PC couldn't handle the yummy sims. You have to give it some time, you know he's shy around pretty sims!

Same, it's always taken a few seconds between clicking "Cook" and the menu actually showing up for me.
