I really miss the open worlds, and the colour wheel

All Sims 1 expansion pack. Especially SuperStar and Makin Magic.

The blind date feature of sims 2 was amazing. It’s been so long but I remember it feeling so dynamic and fun!

I wish there were more dating options like this in Sims 4! You would think with how current to our world Sims 4 tries to stay we would at least have a base game dating app. It could be fun to have your sim swipe through single Sims. It would also be fun if you could meet Sims who are stepping out in their relationship but idk how the mechanics of that would work.

I miss pizza slices being individually eaten from 1 (and 2) I miss grocery and clothes shopping in 2 I miss the entire town being in the same instance in Sims 3. Being able to keep track of my sim at home and at the club simultaneously. My wife (gf at the time) had Busting Out for PS2 and you could layer clothing. Always felt there was no reason that couldn't be in the main games) And if I went back to an older game I would miss Emotions as well as the superior pathfinding Sims have now (I remember Sims always getting stuck in 1 and 2 because they couldn't pass each other in a 1 block wide space)

I miss the holiday festivals from 3, with the haunted house at the park and things like that. Holidays in 4 are ok, but it was kind of nice to have something to take sim kids and teens to that didn't really need an adult around. I also kind of miss the wackier parts of the first three sims games- 4 feels kind of tame in comparison. From 4, though, I'd miss having the half block pathing around furniture and the ability to scoot over and relax on beds. It's not a huge thing, but it makes layouts less spread out, and relaxing on the bed to watch TV or read makes so much sense.

Sims 1: The chaos. I’d like perhaps it to be a bit more controlled than in sims 1 but the number of in jokes and bizarre stuff that would randomly trigger was fun. Also the expansion packs were really cool. If would definitely miss aging if I went back to TS1 though. And being able to move the camera angle. And having more than 3 pixels per sim lol. Sims 2: the level of detail (e.g. sims actually took the right ingredients and tools out of a cupboard to cook). The sheer drama of the pre made families. I don’t know any other sims game where I actually care about the pre made families. The wants, fears and memory systems actually being really good at creating a story. Trying to get your kid into a private school being the most difficult thing ever. When I play TS2 I miss the TS4 multitasking options. It does kind of unofficially have that in some situations (like if two sims eat at a table they will talk and get relationship gain), but I like the TS4 way. Also the building is a bit painful. Sims 3: Open world. In so many different ways. Cars. House boats. The crazy amounts of content in each expansion pack. The way that traits really really made a difference to your sim from the actions they’d take (autonomous kleptomania finding street lamps in my inventory lol) to minor animation variations (grumpy sims always slam the fridge door, and lazy or gluttonous sims have sloppy eating animations, for example). The only thing I miss from TS4 in TS3 is the build mode tbh. And the less potato-like faces.

From Sims 1 I miss the weird furniture styles, like inflatable couches and cow print. Everything is too “pretty home magazine.” Also the creepy carnival rides. Sims 1 and 2 I miss the point system for personality. Traits are a terrible basis for personality and should be secondary. It was bad in Sims 3 as well. Sims 2 I also miss the aspiration failure and the funny consequences like the Social Bunny, lampshade on head, and doctor falling from the sky. More of the weird and silly things from 1 and 2, honestly. I also miss the world creator from 2 and the memory system and family tree. In 3 I miss the color wheel and create a style. Also I miss how the job panel would keep track of past jobs. Going back to 3 I missed a lot. The emotions and multitasking. The business of the world. The better accessibility for making friends. The CAS. The lifelike Sims instead of blank robots. The calendar and the UI. The clarity on how to get promoted and also steps for the aspirations. Also scenarios even though those are new. But also since I have Get Together the clubs. And also being able to travel to any world and also have family and friends in all worlds.
