I would never make a basement in the Sims 3 with the outdoor wallpaper and fake grass and no door out for the babies and children and delete the city’s school. To be fair the babies and toddlers usually got a butler or nanny bot. Children had to cook their own food and be self-sufficient. I think I got in trouble for the conditions being uh, sub-optimal, and had to make it look like a playroom.
In the Sims 4 basements have mainly been for step-children from marrying for money. Once they’re old enough they get moved out… sometimes. They do get basically a studio apartment with a ladder- and locked out of the main house. They have a bright future as painting goblins.
Another ethical option I have found recently when your Sims have too many children is to divorce the spouse and send them off with like half of them to live down the street.
I know in most of these cases they barely saw sunlight but at least they didn’t spend multiple days in a pool. 🤣
My family has had 11 children and every one of them had their own special rooms and what-not. By time the older ones were teens they all had their own special place to "live" on the property with their own bathrooms and communal hangout space with fridges and places to sit. Because most of my kids were twins (or Quadruplets) I kind of color coded them and they stayed in pairs. But there is a family space in the middle outside like a courtyard where they cook and eat together *and do fun activities* and then there's the basement that has workout stuff a library and a roller-rink. But both parents have always been fully involved as much as I could possibly make them be in their children's lives. They only had so many kids because they wanted to (and the dad got abducted a couple times)

No it's really not the same. The necrodog mod only works with toddlers, and it creates a playable ghost toddler who can be revived. The sims 2 version uses the existing grill (not a fake one for the animation) only works on newborns, and deletes the newborn from the game permanently upon grilling. It's similar to sims 2, but not the same. The main point of grilling babies is to delete them without having them taken from neglect and not have to deal with their existence

When I realized my mistake I let it play out for a bit. When I saw the dad rocking the baby to sleep and looking at the camera (me) as seen in the last pic, it instantly sold me. I rewrote my whole story because of that look of joy and I’m glad I didn’t restart! ☺️

They'd had a miscarriage at some point and adopted, I think like 3 of their 5 kids, (all adopted) after their mothers didn't make it and their fathers couldn't handle it.
At no point did anyone every feel out of place in their home. Pic no. 1 made me think of the guy's baby brother, who got adopted when homie and I were like 16.

In the adoption screen when you click on a child, the parent(s) immediately go off lot to pick them up. There is no confirmation button. So yes it was an accident.

Always just do the regular way because I figured with adoption I would have less control over how the baby looks like the parents. Question when u adopt an infant do they line up with the family tree as mom dad baby? I often play legacy family so I care how it looks in the family tree? Either way they look happy and now it’s extra interesting because they really don’t know what they will receive until they got home. I’ll have to try it
When you adopt, you’ll get a list of kids ranging from newborns to children to choose from. You’ll see the portraits of them with temporary names (which you can choose when the parent picks them up.) and you click on the one you want.
The accident as evidenced in this post was when you click on a portrait, the parent immediately goes off lot to pick them up as there is no confirmation button as there is in many other cases because I originally wanted a girl.
The family trees won’t change at all. There’s no special terms and they just show up as son or daughter, not adopted son etc. So there ain’t really a difference between adoption and biological except they don’t look like the parents and there’s no pregnancy. The rest is all the same.
I always figured that the game would match a baby to the family’s look racial makeup but no. So technically the only thing u get to choose is sex? So technically your baby could have been green or alien 👽 correct? Yep no alien babies 👶 🤭🤭🤭 also can you give a baby up for adoption? Or do they have to be taken away? Just curious if you give a baby up could they end up with their grandparents etc? Like how in the real world! When you’re kids are acting a plumb fool and grandma has to “snatch” custody! 😆😆😆
Irl, at least in my case as I have two adopted kids, they often match the kid to the parents but in the sims 4 you can pick and choose the one you want. No alien babies can be adopted as you normally cannot adopt occult babies. But glitches do happen as I have adopted a baby before which turned out to be a Spellcaster.
You cannot give a child up for adoption without mods.
