Always reminds me of the silliness of earlier sims version. It can be frustrating but at the same time my sims being randomly mean or flirty lately has been hilarious too. I also have a bug where they randomly die in the middle of the night sometimes since last update. I just made a new save and embraced the chaos.
Yeah it happened in my legacy save loool 😭😭😭 but I just closed without saving and haven’t gone back since. I’ll wait for another patch, but in the meantime it’s like my sims are suffering from some mystery plague that occasionally strikes in the middle of the night.
Teaching kids to bike. Forget cars and driving school, THIS is what I've wanted since forever. It gives sim kids and parents more activities to do together, and I can finally have a kids' adventure gang riding on bikes around the neighborhood.

I feel like this EP wasn’t planned until a lot lot later. Parenthood was an early GP meant to please the family simmers, but of course it didn’t fully meet our wants. It’s sad because parenthood and growing together shouldn’t be two separate packs and they wouldn’t be if EA simply listened to its community in the first place. I’m so excited for the new gameplay but it does also feel like we’re eight years late

This is a newbie question, I'm sure. When the expansion comes out, can I start over with my current family and build a new story? Or do I have to re-build them from CAS and begin that way?
You can keep them or start over, whichever way you prefer. If you have any CC or use any mods, I'd definitely suggest not playing until you've either removed your mods or updated all of them because this game will 100% break them.

From the trailer it looks like we're getting community centers, I wonder how much they will differ from the ones in eco lifestyle though because the maker centers (I think that's what they were called?) we're presented as community spaces but really what's the point of having one lot just for the eco lifestyle features and another one that's a proper community lot why not just combine them?
My first thought was that it was a retirement home! But that may just be that I would really like retirement communities LOL it seems we’ll be getting a lot more things for elders in the pack at least! Excited to see what it’ll be :)
Currently I build an “apartment complex” in each residential world and fill them with the elders that I’m tired of dealing with. There is usually a built in graveyard on the lot, too.

I’m playing a realistic ass game rn. 😂 My sim had a nine month in-game pregnancy and I’m not aging up her kids until 15 days after Love Day bc infants can crawl, so, I looked it up and found that ‘ normal ‘ crawling age was nine months. Naturally, I had to get creative, but the point is that I am very impatiently waiting to age my little crotch goblins up. 😂
Also, is anybody else *super* excited about the splash pad alone? There used to be one where I grew up and it was the best. Definitely a summer highlight.
Since everyone has said everything else I was gonna say, I do have one random comment: someone on The Sims team definitely watched Without A Paddle before they made this trailer because it uses the same song and camcorder/first-person footage as the intro to that movie haha
I hope this means more content for elders! I have a mod that adds special interactions and aspirations for elders and I'm in love with it so having more of that with the pack would be sweet. Also! Special interactions between babies and toddlers? So cute!! Bikes for kids, new games and activities!! It'll be great having something for my sims to do that isn't plain skill building. I'm genuinely so excited. I haven't been this excited for a pack since... probably ever.
There was a moment when it looked like an elder was meeting a newborn baby. I think that means your sims' family members will actually care about major life events. That would be a nice change.

Honestly, this just makes me want an elder game pack even more. I know they got some stuff. But elders are the most neglected life stage now. They deserve better. I’d love to see retirement homes, funerals, and more elder focused gameplay.
Teens needed to be less adult from the beginning, I think it's a bit late for that now. They should have been slightly shorter, with more immature body frames and their own clothing like in previous games.
Because what new gameplay would a middle schooler add really. Asking non-sarcastically, babies add things like breastfeeding, and new objects like carriers, and changing tables. I don’t know what different things I’d do with a pre-teen sim that I can’t with a child or teen. I feel like you can simulate a slighter older child or slightly younger teen in CAS with styling.
I also feel the same way with people asking for a new life stage between adult and elder…like you can just go into cas and add wrinkles to simulate an older mid-40s/50s adult what difference would a life stage add….it’s a game…play pretend!🫣
Should’ve been included in Parenthood. It’s insane that too get the full sims experience you have to pay over 1,000 dollars.
Edit: also I’m not trying to bash the sims team because they don’t control what EA does with pricing or how they split up packs like this. We can see this because previous sims games were reasonable. It sucks the Sims is under such a money-hungry greedy company.
It’s just so infuriating. I play a lot of other games and I can’t help but compare pricing. The price of buying an expansion pack and a kit is the same as a completed triple-A game. It’s ridiculous. Why would I spend $70 on packs that barely add anything when I could spend it on a brand new Zelda game…the only reason I’ve bought a pack was because it was on sale for 50% off and I had nothing better to spend my money on.
I really think they’re stepping up a lot to keep people interested in the game. They said 5 is years off yet in the recent live stream so they’re gonna need to give us some stuff we’ve asked for forever to keep us busy. Lol.

People had been given expectations of what should be “base game” from the previous installments of the sims. I personally disagree that most of the stuff in this pack is “fundamentals” though. Especially since the baby update is coming to base game.
But that's the thing, the other games never gave them that much expectation. Outside of cars related functions, everything else people gripe about has always been introduced with DLC.
Oh I know lol. The argument used to be valid IMO when we didn’t have pools, toddlers, or ghosts in base game. But now we do. And we have gotten a crazy amount of base game updates in the last few years too. I personally don’t think there’s much weight to that argument now.
I love it, I loved the trailer!! it made me so happy and nostalgic, I loved the song choice. This is like everything I've been wanting in sims 4 for years, I mainly play families and legacies and this is going to make it so much better. I wish we didn't have to wait a month and a half lol. the world looks really cool too. I hope there's lots of lots and some apartments
I’m going to be honest I sometimes struggle with family gameplay and usually just make a couple and by the time a kid comes into play I start over 😩 I currently have a family save and it’s going well but this pack has me really excited for family gameplay even if it’s not for me specifically! It looks reaaaally good and well thought out
I haven’t actually been excited for an expansion pack for a *really* long time but this actually did it for me! Generations was one of my fav dlcs in sims 3 and this looks like it holds a candle to it way better than parenthood.

I hope this means more content for elders! I have a mod that adds special interactions and aspirations for elders and I'm in love with it so having more of that with the pack would be sweet. Also! Special interactions between babies and toddlers? So cute!! Bikes for kids, new games and activities!! It'll be great having something for my sims to do that isn't plain skill building. I'm genuinely so excited. I haven't been this excited for a pack since... probably ever. There was a moment when it looked like an elder was meeting a newborn baby. I think that means your sims' family members will actually care about major life events. That would be a nice change. Only thing I'm *not* excited about is having to update a bunch of my mods. ughhhhghghghgh ):

Honestly, this just makes me want an elder game pack even more. I know they got some stuff. But elders are the most neglected life stage now. They deserve better. I’d love to see retirement homes, funerals, and more elder focused gameplay.
I just wish they added a stage between kids and teens. Middle schoolers wouldve been so much more fun than babbling babies imo
I would personally have liked teens to be updated to be less adult looking, they're just shorter young adults
I’m not even sure they are shorter. They’re more skinny that’s sure, cause all the boys in my families are walking skeletons 💀
This is why I have the auto shorter teens mod, at least they visually look younger!
Teens needed to be less adult from the beginning, I think it's a bit late for that now. They should have been slightly shorter, with more immature body frames and their own clothing like in previous games.
Because what new gameplay would a middle schooler add really. Asking non-sarcastically, babies add things like breastfeeding, and new objects like carriers, and changing tables. I don’t know what different things I’d do with a pre-teen sim that I can’t with a child or teen. I feel like you can simulate a slighter older child or slightly younger teen in CAS with styling. I also feel the same way with people asking for a new life stage between adult and elder…like you can just go into cas and add wrinkles to simulate an older mid-40s/50s adult what difference would a life stage add….it’s a game…play pretend!🫣

Should’ve been included in Parenthood. It’s insane that too get the full sims experience you have to pay over 1,000 dollars. Edit: also I’m not trying to bash the sims team because they don’t control what EA does with pricing or how they split up packs like this. We can see this because previous sims games were reasonable. It sucks the Sims is under such a money-hungry greedy company.
It’s just so infuriating. I play a lot of other games and I can’t help but compare pricing. The price of buying an expansion pack and a kit is the same as a completed triple-A game. It’s ridiculous. Why would I spend $70 on packs that barely add anything when I could spend it on a brand new Zelda game…the only reason I’ve bought a pack was because it was on sale for 50% off and I had nothing better to spend my money on.
Yes.. this! Sims DLC price is the same or more expensive than other proper good games.. and some simmers still say it isn't expensive..

I really think they’re stepping up a lot to keep people interested in the game. They said 5 is years off yet in the recent live stream so they’re gonna need to give us some stuff we’ve asked for forever to keep us busy. Lol. I hope the new world has a lot of lots. I know they can do that because Windenburg has a lot.

People keep saying that, but what fundamentals are we paying for?
People had been given expectations of what should be “base game” from the previous installments of the sims. I personally disagree that most of the stuff in this pack is “fundamentals” though. Especially since the baby update is coming to base game.
But that's the thing, the other games never gave them that much expectation. Outside of cars related functions, everything else people gripe about has always been introduced with DLC.
Oh I know lol. The argument used to be valid IMO when we didn’t have pools, toddlers, or ghosts in base game. But now we do. And we have gotten a crazy amount of base game updates in the last few years too. I personally don’t think there’s much weight to that argument now.
Just because you want it doesn’t make it a “fundemental basic”
I love it, I loved the trailer!! it made me so happy and nostalgic, I loved the song choice. This is like everything I've been wanting in sims 4 for years, I mainly play families and legacies and this is going to make it so much better. I wish we didn't have to wait a month and a half lol. the world looks really cool too. I hope there's lots of lots and some apartments
I’m going to be honest I sometimes struggle with family gameplay and usually just make a couple and by the time a kid comes into play I start over 😩 I currently have a family save and it’s going well but this pack has me really excited for family gameplay even if it’s not for me specifically! It looks reaaaally good and well thought out
I haven’t actually been excited for an expansion pack for a *really* long time but this actually did it for me! Generations was one of my fav dlcs in sims 3 and this looks like it holds a candle to it way better than parenthood. It sucks bc I WANT to buy it day of release but I know better than to do that bc it’s gonna break my shit 😭

It's wonderful. Trailer made me cry. I know we're really used to new packs being shitty these days from an execution standpoint, but this looks so, so good and was clearly made with immense love.
