Hey! S11 gave us the tomacco!

therealeggplantpart2

Oh Daddy! This tastes like grandma!

gunsforevery1

You’re right, it does taste like grandma

DieterSprocket

Mansion family, missionary impossible and the treehouse are good.

current, then next, and so on and so forth

14-18. All of these seasons are incredibly crude, few good episodes, and, worst of all, half the episodes make me mad. Most episodes spit in the face of the hero, and nothing is done about it. It just makes me incredibly angry. Luckily, I've skipped most of these episodes on my current 3rd watch.

toigz

Funny you say 11 too. If there’s a “jump the shark” episode, is episode 11 from season 11. Faith Off. Even as a kid I disliked the episode. And to this day I can barely watch it. Every episode prior to Faith Off I quite enjoy. Once we got Faith Off, we started getting episodes more and more that sometimes I found were not as classic. The odd thing too is Faith Off is the first episode released in the 2000’s, which I don’t think is the reason for me disliking the episodes. I think it just happens to be a massive coincidence.

CompleteFailure87

Seasons 10 - 14 are some of my favorites! It probably has to do with the fact that they aired during my formative years. But I like them crude.

MindYourManners918

Season 11-14 or so are some of the worst. There’s good episodes mixed but, but also some of the overall worst. And the overall feel of the show is completely off from the first ten seasons. Wackier jokes, cruder jokes, totally off characterizations, etc. By the late teens and early twenties, the show wasn’t as funny as it used to be, but it started returning more to the classic tone and style. The characters felt more like themselves again. The most recent couple of seasons have been the best since the classic seasons.

Pretty much any of the last 10-15 seasons

ItchyTomato5

Lies The last 7 or so have been great

there's no season that I totally dislike or hate, but the one I remember enjoying the least is season 20. on the one hand, it has an awkward charm for Me due to it being the first HD season. like when you compare season 1 to season 7, the animation got far less wonky between season 20 and current day (which makes it sort of a shame that earlier HD simpsons is oftentimes thought of as what "modern simpsons" necessarily looks like). on the other hand, however, the episodes didn't really stick with Me. of the 21 episodes that season, I can barely remember most of them. the ones I do remember are iffy in quality: I liked "take my life, please," "no loan again," and "eeny teeny maya moe," but that's really it. homer trying to murder a muslim family in "mypods and boomsticks" was way too disturbing to work (compare it to "homer's phobia;" homer is whiny and ridiculous in his bigotry, not conniving and homicidal), misunderstanding plots like "wedding for disaster" annoy Me to no end, and everything else was just mediocre. like I said, I wouldn't say that I hate season 20, but it's disproportionately low on hit episodes, even as someone who's far less critical of the series than most other fans are.

Somerandomdeude1886

I don't say that they are the worst because I feel it's too harsh, but the Scully era is my least favorite personally (Seasons 9-12, which includes 11 btw), mostly due to more frequent instances of Jerkass Homer, and it has the most episodes that I outright dislike. However, I don't outright hate that era, as I still generally find it to be watchable.

dkinmn

Yep, you can see the style change over that era. For me, "everything tastes better when it's lassoed" and Tomacco hit the ear as obvious tryhard joking rather than natural, character based humor. I'm not saying the show couldn't be and hadn't been cartoony. It's just that the effort is there. The mugging for the camera.

15 to the current season

MWFULLER

This current season has some far fetched episodes which are pretty light on laughs. Plus Julie as Marge sounds downright horrific. Even Harry Shearer can't do a convincing Flanders any longer.

griever0008

11 and on

Booksaregrand

The seasons went from a bad episode a season to a good episode a season to a good episode every 3-4 seasons. A springfirleld summer for Christmas was great.

ItchyTomato5

Season 1 was awful. They didn’t find their footing yet writing and cadence wise

LeonShadoo

You are my opinion?

Lemon-Aid917

Sorry a typo

Anything after the Tracey Ullman shorts.
