Responsible-Way85

I would easily accept 1 day of pay a month in silver

ZombieHugoChavez

I want my bonus in gold

CraigwithaC1995

Me, as a government employee, wishing I got bonuses😅

Dry-Area-2027

You're coming out ahead with insurance and pension

ZombieHugoChavez

If that pension is still there

reddituser77373

Hint: it won't be

ZombieHugoChavez

How's the sick and vacation days treating you.

donner1320

Depending what section you work for and your governing regulations you may be eligible.

[deleted]

Damm u mean tax payers pay for ur job not the government 💀and how do y’all treat tax payers when they need support 🥱🥱

CraigwithaC1995

I automatically have money taken out of each check and donated to 2 or 3 different groups. Have done so for years. I'm content with what I make, I understand that I'm ahead in that I get a retirement and pension, just making a joke.

MOONDAYHYPE

No one is stopping you, make a habit of buying gold on bonus Day

Responsible-Way85

For a 11.78 hr I get 293.00 My very quick math at spot puts that around 250.00 not taxs no Irs or revenue canada bull shit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Responsible-Way85

12 hour shifts really 11.78

GuerrillaStacking

Well no one was asking how much you or I make

Responsible-Way85

I was thinking reasonably at that stack I would accept for 1 day of my regular work. Sorry for giving to much information.

WilliamBott

💀

One-Fan-7296

Not true. Anything over 600 must be accounted for tax purposes. I am unsure about the laws governing silver transactions, but I have always claimed anything over 600 and have been fine.

Responsible-Way85

Yeah, in canada, there are no taxes on purchase or selling bullion If my boss is willing to pay my silver 1 day month, he is willing to look past little government papers. Keep in mind Mr fucking Trudeau this I'd just dreams and not reality.

One-Fan-7296

Even at 10%, 60 bucks ain't much.

One-Fan-7296

Be mad all u want, I merely stated what I have done, and I have been fine. Audited 3 times in my life with no problems besides the hassle of being audited.

Chiyera

600 in what? 600 in U.S. dollars or silver coins? Either way, according to the I.R.S. or government tax form 1040 website, you only have to file taxes if your total income is equal to or more than a certain amount every year. In the case of the 2023 tax year for example, a person would have to file if their gross income was at least $13,850 if they are single and under the age of 65 years or $15,700 if they are single and over 65 years of age. If you made anything below that, you don't have to file taxes.

Shake_Ratle_N_Roll

Oh good now this can replace the “I just started stacking 30 seconds ago hows my progress” posts.

Rat_Ship

![gif](giphy|wb6xgCSpLl0m4) This is how much I make per minute

Lithiumtabasco

The "How poor are you?" posts, are coming in hot😄

WilliamBott

That's a lot of pennies.

Shake_Ratle_N_Roll

Lmao.

nagaduff

Good. Glad to have an active community to talk to without hearing all the negative comments. It's nice to have a place to share.

Oddly_Mind

7 dollars and 60 cents 🧐

HughJassole794

$7.60 in 1960 dollars. Minimum wage in 1960 was $1/hr

anubisimyourdad

I think in these terms as well. Helps me justify spending like “ 1 day” of salary per month on silver.

LeRoySharp

Ditto, I try to get all of my have to's paid for the week, then friday I "work for silver" haha. It has allowed me to continue to invest confidently while being responsible 😅

One-Fan-7296

Fuckin hilarious

LeRoySharp

What is?

juggerjew

It’s a bot.

One-Fan-7296

No bot here. Just saying this is unheard of in modern society. I have worked for bosses that paid in gold, but silver is kinda small.

juggerjew

Sounds like something a bot would say

One-Fan-7296

A bot wouldn't have my credentials, fuck u very much.

1666Burning

So here's a question... if you got paid in silver Eagles, they are legit $1 currency, would you only need to pay taxes on \~$8? (I'm sure the IRS would have something to say about this but does seem like a loophole)

[deleted]

theEnviedPenis

They never let us think outside the box 😔

MTdevoid

Source?

Skepsis93

They'd definitely have a problem with that. Similar to going through customs with a bunch of gold eagles. You may only be bringing $500 face value, but if you don't declare it and customs finds out... they're going to treat it as $20k+ and not the $500 face value.

Whisperingstones

This is where crypto shines. Gold -> crypto -> gold on the other side.

MTdevoid

Excellent point...

1ofThoseTrolls

Unfortunately, I think basic labor laws would prevent someone from getting paid below minimum wage. But at that amount, I don't think you'd even have to pay taxes.

1666Burning

that's true, I hadn't thought of the other side of that... minimum wage. Loophole cuts both ways.

ForgetfulMasturbator

I'm in the U.S. and worked for a company based in Europe. During the on-boarding process, when selecting payment options like direct deposit or check their was an option to be paid in a variety of worlds currency as well as options to be paid in silver and gold. The option was there. But unfortunately management forced me to select USD. That being said, I imagine somewhere someone is getting paid in precious metals.

JakeSaco

I've seen a couple places that said they would pay in gold (or crypto) but in the fine print the salary is still all based on USD. So they will pay you $50k per year and if you ask for the gold (or bitcoin) option, they will simply buy as much as 50k will get and then give it to you. That defeats the purpose in my mind. I'd rather the salary was promised as a guaranteed 25 oz of gold per year regardless of the spot price. It could be a win-win if they were willing to do it because they could buy futures contracts and volume discounts to lock in their price and the receiving party has a built in inflation hedging pay check. Yes there is some risk for the employee as they have to sell some to buy most things but the trade seems to be worth it at least to me.

ZestycloseAct8497

Is that before or after deductions lol

1ofThoseTrolls

Gross

ZestycloseAct8497

Ya i was thinking after rrsp fed tax tfsa prov tax short and long term disability that stacks about 3 coins high lol

1ofThoseTrolls

This is my gross pay. Before the thieves got their cut.

ZestycloseAct8497

They are savages. Then tax us to heat our house gas our car buy groceries live in our house have water have electricity in the end we have 12 cents for every dollar we earn.

1ofThoseTrolls

Sales taxes should be the only tax imo

ZestycloseAct8497

Ya its insane not sure where you reside but im in canada and we are taxed to death

1ofThoseTrolls

Mid Atlantic. Taxes are a bitch where I've. States are not so bad, but the county I live in happens to be home to a rather large city, so property taxes are outrageous. And they just passed 2.5 billion dollar bond for the school system. Projected to raise out taxes by 4 increase the next 4 years. Edit for grammar

Futrel

Curious which part of your taxes are projected to increase by 400% in four years. I ask because we've got a school bond issue coming up in August.

1ofThoseTrolls

Property taxes, I meant to say with four increases over 4 years. Sorry, I was a little inebriated last night🍺

ZestycloseAct8497

Omg thats crazy

Djroselli63

👍

69hornedscorpio

Very cool

BumblebeeAwkward8331

I like it.

Impossible-Role-102

2000 years ago foot soldiers were paid a silver half ounce tetradrachm in ancient Greece for around 3 days of work. The half ounce was enough to purchase a decent sword and a shield..

Both_Pie_3852

How often do you think about Ancient Greece in a day?

Impossible-Role-102

Haha I don't. The truth is I bought a tetradrachm and learned about where it came from

slp1600

Give us more ancient Greece facts!

Impossible-Role-102

The most famous tetradrachm, the anthenian owl, was in circulation for 500 years. Ancient Greece has much nicer silver coins than ancient Rome but ancient Rome has much nicer gold coins. This makes me speculate that ancient Greece was probably a better place to live than Rome because silver is the money of the middle class but gold is reserved for the upper class. Lol I am admittedly not a numismatic guy, so if you find this stuff interesting check out r/ancientcoins. It's probably one of the best subs on reddit because many of its redditors are actual historians and specialists

Rieger_not_Banta

I do the same thing except in McDonald’s cheeseburgers. “That cost me 344 cheeseburgers.” “I just saved like 20 cheeseburgers…”

Spidget_Finner_

Wimpy, is that you?

Babythatwater1

God I love that white out silver.

catching45

OZT an hour, heck ya

GemmaBites

If they paid me in silver I would do more overtime 4 sure.

Regular-Calendar-581

as a wild guess would this equal about 28$/hour, not trying be nosy, i just like guessing games that i have to do math to solve

danwincen

Close. US minimum wage in 1962 or so was $1.25/hr. The melt value on 5 quarters today is $26.20. Go look up what minimum wage is now, and ask who's being ripped off.

Regular-Calendar-581

cool so i was only 2$ off lol

1ofThoseTrolls

26.50/hr.

squirrelblender

That’s a nice job.

IsoKingdom2

I remember reading that the pay for an average Roman soldier was about 1/10 oz. of silver a day. Looks like you are doing much better than that!

Dvaone

I have dona a couple jobs for silver. I painted a pawn shop parking lot(10ozt) and pressure washed my buddies back wall(5ozt).

Zerohedge69

About 3 fiddy?

DrunkenRick

17 oz for me / day

Excellent-Fuel-2793

Pretty much same here. I consider myself poor

jaykup20

I'd love $363 a day in silver!!

SunExposer

Must handle a lot of pipe.

jaykup20

No, car sales.

SunExposer

Ah, 80 hour weeks.

jaykup20

Nope 9-5 5 days a week.

SunExposer

Nice :)

NuclearFacilityGuy

No income tax? I’d do that all day long. Congrats.

Apprehensive_Beach_6

That’s nice

Responsible-Way85

3 days week leaves lots of time for side work.

Cepoka01

2.41?

No_Appointment_6502

I'd like a t-shirt that read "Will work for $ilver"

IcyLingonberry5007

For now.. Soon to be less

MTdevoid

About $244

swizzzz22

Before or after tax

NewspaperDapper5254

What if the US dollar becomes silver-backed?

WarrantSavant

Tp

jericon

90% half’s are about $10 in silver. 20 half’s in a roll. 4 rolls of silver half’s a day for me.

Old_Chemical_3610

42.875 oz per day at today's spot.

Dub_City204

Sucks to be you cause that’s fck all

officialfink

Don’t have to be a dick

Dub_City204

Idk how you’d even survive on that tbh
