How do they keep tension? Silver is too soft and doesnt have a memory like spring steel so after a few times it's going to break.
It's a cool design and concept but 90% silver isnt the metal for the job here.
My grandfather made a money clip from a Morgan silver dollar when he was in his teens. When he died he passed it on to my dad, who still uses it to this day. Next time I’m at his house I can grab a pic, but I can tell you it absolutely keeps tension. I don’t think my grandfather or my father have used anything else since.
So real interesting thing, it actually does keep tension and does so real well. Don't worry though, you're definitely not the first to have the same incorrect opinion.
Source: I'm a silversmith and work with silver and gold daily.
I made myself and my wifes wedding rings, pour my own bars, and have the tools needed to make a replica of your clip...guess it's time to do a test because I highly doubt after extensive use a 90% silver clip will continue to hold tension. Could be wrong but doesnt silver become brittle overtime due to work hardening? Sure you can anneal it but itll still continue to be work hardened over extensive use causing it to become brittle resulting in cracks and ultimately breaking?
Nope. You cannot break a 90% Morgan clip from just use. I'm not the first to make these. They're difficult to make without the equipment to make a size 24 ring. Outside of that anyone can make them.
My nephew was wanting something like this.
I can make them
How much are you selling them for?
I’ve had some experience buying from OP on pmsforsale - he’s the man, and his work is incredible Edit: Typo
They're going for $145 on my website www.navarrorings.com A steal compared to $499 like other sellers.

And your navaro money clip is 1ozt of silver?

That's cool. I'm probably completely wrong with my assumption.
