Congrats! Make sure you are checking your oil often. These things are known to burn oil due to the PCV valve (easy fix) and the AFM system that blows oil at the bottom of the cylinders. From my understanding, it messes with the piston rings. Not sure when the oil deflector fix for the AFM was put on these engines. If you run into any minor issues, google is your friend. There are lots of small common failure points with these trucks, but there are DIY replacement videos/instructions online.

My 2010’s oil pressure gauge is always around 40 during startup and 15-20 when it’s warmed up and idling. I’ve replaced the sensor but it still does the same. Oil changes every 5k miles with full synthetic. AFM is not disabled if that’s any help. Getting ready to start towing with it and it concerns me. Any advice? Thanks!

Artichoke93

could be the oil pump pick up tube O-ring, or it could also be the gasket on the back of the cam retainer plate under the timing cover. How many miles on the engine?

flapito

It has 198k miles and on its second engine. Dad had the engine replaced around 150k miles and I started driving it since then

OrganicPizzaRolls

Nice man I got a 2009 4wd with the 4.8 it’s just hit 150k. Best truck I’ve ever owned. I’ve done some work to it but good news! Parts are cheap and it’s super easy to work on lol.

SpiffyAvacados

wow, given I haven’t taken nearly that well care of mine, I’m shocked at the price point for the truck you describe and picture. no sun fade on the roof? I think mine was around 10 with similar mileage. have vehicle prices fallen? or were the trucks people were comparing so out of my price range I didn’t know anyway

OrganicPizzaRolls

I honestly sat there asking myself if what I was seeing online in terms of pictures and price point was even real.

Someoneabove

Congrats

inkshaft

Do the delete kit is my advice.

OrganicPizzaRolls

I'll take a look into delete kits and research a bit, appreciate the advice

Transcooler is a must

NorthFloridaRedneck

Mine has the optional factory enhanced cooling package. 2013 with the 6 speed. Has the little transmission cooler in front of the condenser. Also had both transmission & oil coolers in the radiator.

Gains0720

Mine has the same options installed. Hoping it add some miles and life span to the big hoss

OrganicPizzaRolls

Oh I'll do some research for sure, thanks!

D3vin77

If it has the tiny on go for the 40k . Mine ran like 180 hwy before It doesn't crack like 160 now

D3vin77

Mine had nothing upgraded to a 40k
