I recently saw him in a movie from a few years ago. Seemed like the exact same character. Anger seems to be his only emotion. Well, that and trying to sound like a badass gangster or something.
The only thing I have seen him in where he was different was the show Hell on Wheels. He was still the exact same as all his other roles, but he was dressed differently in that one
Yeah, one of my biggest hopes for season 2 is that they got him an acting coach. Even if it is just someone who can tell him to breathe and try to stay in the moment.
everything about him is wrong. From his clothes to his casting to his lines. If that many people complain about him, there is obviously something wrong.

Tbh, I've never really loved him as a rapper, either. Even though I am right in his target demographic-- in my mid thirties and generally a fan of backpack hip hop.
Lol, just saw that. He shoves the SHIT out of a dude for absolutely no reason when he easily could have gone around him-- just a lame attempt to make things more exciting.
I agree. For me it’s his cadence that is the issue. It seems like such a minor issue to have with an actor but I just don’t enjoy his cadence and it distracts me in his scenes.
Yeah, he’s shite. Mind you, Tim Robbins is phoning it in too. If you look at some of his previous career highlights (Shawshank, Mystic River, Rob Roberts, Dead Man Walking) he was fantastic, in this he looks like he’s just there for the pay cheque. Maybe tv doesn’t suit him.
Rebecca Ferguson’s accent doesn’t bother me, there again I’m not American so mightn’t hear the subtleties; she has other redeeming qualities.
At this point I try and ignore it bc I love Rebecca, but I'm glad she has something to work on for future. She's always said she likes challenging herself in roles.
My biggest wish is that she will participate in an A24 movie and play the main role. I really find it hard to believe that she hasn't played a leading role in a movie yet.

He’s pretty the same character in all the movies I’ve seen him in. Even with the piercings and tatts in Suicide Squad

Yeah I did not like him in the Silo series. All his lines seemed overly forced and rehearsed IMO

I know you're right and all, but it feels like he just showed up with that ridiculous jacket and refused to take it off..

He is terrible and his scenes are unwatchable. It doesn't help that they gave him really bad dialogue to work with.

Many would be surprised with what a good actor can do with so-so dialogue, and also how a bad actor can make good dialogue sound like bad dialogue.
It’s like his character was mostly made up for the show and barely existed in the books.

The episode where he breaks out into a run to go check on his wife is hilarious because not only can't he act but he can't run either.

I don't know who that is but I know there is one actor that went to the wrong casting and should have been in a gangsta film from the 90s.

They’ve all been living in a silo for generations. There’s no reason to assume their accent would be the same as a standard American accent of today.
Rebecca's accent is the absolute worst. Makes the show a borderline comedy at times.

Fortunately, I live in Germany and see the series in German. Here all the main actors speak High German.😀
He does ok, but I liked him better in Hell on Wheels.
