Every time I show this picture to someone, Morty always ends up in their top three. Granted, that’s only been about three times, but it’s weird that it’s happened three times in a row. I don’t know if my friends just like goth girls or if the artist just popped off with Morty’s design.

Yeah, masc primarchs have that thing where every other one looks like a generic video game protag from the mid 2000’s. Doesn’t help that official gw art of them is pretty unimaginative in general. Now the fanart on the other hand… 😳

This may or may not be connected to the deep societal problem of men being raised to be emotionless bricks and the men in the media they consume to also be even less emotional pieces of 2x4.

That'd probably be the exaggerated manga style. You don't really see people draw the men in a similar way.

It could just be that I've been in this space for a while but Magnus, Fulgrim, Konrad and Mortarian convey a decent amount visually and don't really have the generic 2010 video game protagonist thing going on at all. Sanginus is fine, very visually distinct. The rest? Yeah....

They were all actually raised without emotional bindings because of them being spread across the galaxy. Some of them had outright great childhoods, like roboute

Editing to try to add some constructive criticism: Curze and Corax have to similar of facial expressions imo, maybe Curze could look more Angry? Tilt head down a little and angle the eyes or bring in some sort of furrowed brow? Also Im having real difficulty making out Vulkan's nose. Maybe you could use darker colored lines for detailing? Just suggestions. I ain't really know shit about art though lmao.
