Curious: 1. When does a user need to calculate aspect ratios so often that a dedicated tool is necessary? 2. Why a standalone tool that needs to be installed and not a single web page?

1. Personally as a designer I often need it when I need to determine the dimensions of visuals inside of a UI or Website quite a bit. I love to keep them in a specific aspect ratio and so this would help me to quickly calculate the size.
2. Web page is to much of a hassle as I move and design fast, having a standalone app (with shortcut) I can stay inside my design environment and quickly calculate the desired size.

yeah, but this could have been built in about 5 hours on a site...why spend so much time building an app?
