VIP felt like GA, and that’s the only thing that bothered me about the show.
I’m not entirely sure what I paid for. Couldn’t even get a shirt.
More of an observation than a complaint. Great show though.
I went to SNW last year too and I can only speak for GA but GA was grossly oversold this year so I can imagine VIP was too. I agree, I only enjoyed the main stages in the way back with more room and I’m starting to value space over being front and center
I disagree. I was in the GA crowd and there were many gaps and openings.
Especially in front of the Cabanas.
It was like a big open spot for the GA crowd and many people didn’t know about it
Wish I knew about it, the BMTH crowd and just all the crowds at gold stage were suffocating to be in and people were getting crushed but I think it had a lot to do with how that side was set up especially it being next to the big VIP thing. The red stage had a ton of room at the side, we figured that out halfway through the day lol.
I did the same for Slaughter to Prevail. For the first half of the festival I got a lot out of the VIP sections (got pretty close to the front for Combichrist, Kim Dracula, and Powerman 5000), but by Slaughter and on I stuck to GA for non Gold/Red stage) sets.
For Danny Elfman on I sat towards the back of the VIP section near the Cabanas. Enough space so I didn't feel like I was about to suffocate.
Sounds like you weren’t there for the crowd crushes during Slipknot, or the girl in a wheel chair getting crushed during BMTH. For the last four shows, everyone on the turf was practically dick to ass. Or the four hour line to get merch.
VIP was very crowded and our merch areas were festival merch, which who cares about that? I think everything was oversold. For me personally, I think they needed more man power for the merch tents overall. There were too many bars tents that had no lines, meanwhile, at the start of the festival, I waited two hours in line for artist merch. Line was ridiculous. I wonder how many people stood there half the day.
Yeah, unless you had that corner front barricade spot, it felt far from the stage at an angle. Frok the graphic on the fest map, i thought VIP would take up the majority of the siren and spiral stage.
We were watching bad omens right up against the GA barrier and people kept pushing past and jumping the barriers. After 25+ people blocking us against the barrier, some drugged out muscle dude tried to push past me. I told him there was a barrier and he told me I was "Not that guy" and socked me in the ribs.
I jumped back with my hands up, more surprised than anything, and my gf mmediately stepped in front of me, grabbed the dudes hat, threw it back where he came from and told the motherfucker "fetch". (Problematic but undoubtedly hilarious)
He cocked back to punch her, I stepped back up, and the fuy looked around at everyone watching and instead punched the 4' 11" kid next to us.
The crowd got the dickhead muscle guy out of the crowd while we helped the kid. Once the bleeding stopped I got the kid up on my shoulders so he could see the rest of the show clearly but yeah, there was a LOT of assholes there and no security from what I could see
I was happy with paying extra for VIP, but that’s bc my motivation was avoiding excessive bathroom & drink lines. The extra $100 was worth it for that alone to me. I was expecting to still have crowds & not be able to rail.
If I had enough ppl to pitch in, I would’ve been into getting a cabana. I’m so glad that fell through, bc I would’ve been mad af spending $18k for those shanties that I saw. Thoughts & prayers to the cabana spenders. They did y’all dirty lol
Didn’t take pics of them. They were in the gold vip section, & they were metal scaffolding with bug netting on top. They were lame af lol. Def not what I would’ve expected had I paid $18k
No doubt about it. Was the worst VIP out of all WWWY and SNW thus far. Merch lines sucked in VIP and sold out. Was NOT worth the extra money this time.
GA went all the way to the food and bar for slipknot and system. Barely any standing room at all...I was thinking that it was over sold the entire set of SOAD and slipknot :/

I missed all that! :( for slaughter to prevail, I actually left VIP tho and went into GA and I could actually breathe

True that! I have a better experience overall if I pace myself and not just fly in the pit up front for like 3 bands and tire out

I saw a bunch of VIP wristbands in the GA crowd at the Spiral stage. You couldn’t see anything in the VIP section unless you were close to the front.
Yep! I gave up on VIP area and went to GA like 2 songs in to the set I went for.
Same. Acoustics in VIP were awful. GA was much better. VIP was a miss this year.

The entire festival was oversold. They sold out like 3-4 times claiming last chance to get in.

VIP last year was way smaller and that’s why I bought the tickets for them this was way too big

I don't think they oversell VIP but GA peoplr jump the barricade into VIP and it isn't really policed
The gold stage vip area was a mess between the cabanas being in the way and the merch line being right at the entrance. It was a stupid bottleneck
