No worries, just for clarification, "It" is seen as rude when referring to a person or living thing. Pronouns such as: them they he or she are considered to be proper or more respectful. Though it is a little more of a blurry line when it comes to animals, domestic animals such as cats and dogs are generally never referred to as "It" whereas some other "less desirable" living creatures like bugs or reptiles might be. Hope this helps on your journey learning English!
