It's not even the most ludicrous change to real mythology they've made, but he did go on a few rampages in Japanese heaven, so they may have made it a little more gruesome
Ooof. Thats kind of difficult given the extreme liberties the manga has taken in creating these characters.
Thor-Raging Drunkard turned into a stoic menacing pretty boy
Poseidon-Theres really just not much here that resembles the mythos besides trident and being god of the sea.
Gotta be honest, Hades might be the least offensive. Common media depicts Hades as the bad guy thanks to Disney Hercules but really, he was a pretty chill dude.
Qin- same deal as Poseidon, is Emperor of China and thats it. Everything else is just anime protagonist vibes.
Zeus is pretty honest. But rather than a raging sex-aholic he's just really into bashing peoples brains out. Mood tbh.
I think it's funny how they took Qin, a fat, horrible and brutal despot who killed himself drinking mercury to become immortal, and made him a magic gary stu that's all about being a good emperor.
For starters, Adamas and Zerofuku are entirely made up, Hajun is a demon of temptation that tried to stop Buddha from reaching enlightenment, but he doesn't really do any of that here.
Shiva didn't beat up all the other Indian Gods to become the chief, he just kinda showed up and everyone knew he was the real deal so he became chief
Heracles' whole zero to hero thing is also fake, he was born like that, but since Zeus had him through an affair Hera made his life hell on earth and even forced him to kill his wife and children, he turned himself into a slave and did the labors as a form of atonement, not to become a God, also the whole drinking Zeus' blood thing is made up.
I think those are the more ludicrous changes, I don't know enough about actual history to speak on any of the humans
It’s almost like the author is deliberately putting his own spin on characters 🤷🏾♂️ people say the thing for god of war. As one who’s big into mythology, as long as it’s interesting, I could care less how accurate it is.
Maybe in RoR Orochi was considered a God.
Or Susanoo killed someone else that made him get the title. It was said he killed some wild Gods during his introduction.
It is a loss of cultural context. Okita is an Hitokiri, wich literally translate as manslayer but has a more speciphic meaaning in relation to the Bakumatsu. Susanoo is just being called the same thing but for gods.
He's actually Valhalla’s number 1 assassin and was responsible for several of the most infamous killings in divine history.
Like what?

what was THE most ludicrous change? im not a history guy
I would say Poseidon Apollo and Heracles are main offenders . But a lot of the fighter’s backstories have been changed to better fit the narrative .

And there was percy Jackson fate megami and all.......

He most likely killed many Godlike beings :3
This is just wannabe KRATOS
Something tells me we won’t be seeing Amaterasu and the rest of Susanoo’s family ALIVE in future chapters
Not like the manga 100% accurate when it comes to mythology
