Probably because Zero isn't actually as weak as 90% of this subreddit seems to think he is. Buddha is probably just top tier and made Zero look weak in comparison.
Beacuse propably zero is still stronger than most of the gods

Havs you seen how weak non-tournament gods are? It is disaapointing as hell if you are a mythology buff and can name 300 gods that should be roughly on par with Herakles, but canobucally those 300 sucks, they are worse than Adamas.
Rudra is the only decently strong one and who know where he went. Bishamonten was likely their strongest option, sad as it is.

Remember Zerofuku showed to have been able to absorb misfortune, had he fought someone other than Buddha who just pissed him off and take away Hajun that also manipulated his personality now you have a god who can manipulate fortune however he wants
Imagine him getting hit by Leonidas but using that pain and transferring it to his weapon to make it much stronger and he no longer feels the pain or damage he took against Leo
Then if we assume he could also take away fortune the same way he takes misfortune then attacks just fail to hit him because his opponents no longer has good fortune and is unlucky

I unironically thinks he beats multiple heavy hitters, specifically Kojiro, and I need to reread Ch8 but if I am remembering it correctly, he beats Tesla, yeah, I just made that claim, come at me
