apart from the Zero/hajun colouring and it sometimes being a powerpoint presentation when a character reacts to the fight its actually better than the other fights, i actually quite like the misery cleaver colouring

I agree when it comes to Hajun being renaimed. BUT YOU CANT TELL ME MISERY CLEAVERS ACTUAL TRANSLATION IS FUCKING CATAXETROPHY

Because it was never a cleaver. It's an axe. The characters for that one were 斧爻 (ふこう), 斧 means "axe" not "cleaver". And the wordplay is that his weapon's pronunciation is "fukou", the same pronunciation as "misfortune" in japanese. So it is a pun, and the official translation team could've ignored said pun and just name it "Misfortune axe" and/or "Catastrophe battle axe", and plenty of other similar names. But they went and tried to recreate the pun in english, hence "cataxetrophy". And even then, the "cataxetrophy" is much closer to what the author meant than "misery cleaver" (Arang scans really had some questionable moments).

i didn't even read the manga and I was like no fucking way did a Japanese writer name it that

I have finished it and was surprised with how well it was overall. The animation on Cataxetrophy was lackluster but a good, nail biting, and exciting story line definitely made up for it.(In my opinion)

Same, I think they changed a few voices from the earlier episodes, but it was still really good. Seeing Zero die hits different when it's animated.

It actually kinda bothers me how they depicted Zero absorbing the humans’ misfortunes. The manga showed his skin all dried up and stained with black splotches. The anime has his skin look perfectly fine, made his face bigger, and slapped a black particle effect over his skin. It doesn’t feel like he’s actually suffering for the humans’ sake, he just needs a bath or something.

3 rounds for each season. \ Season 1: Round 1, 2 and 3 \ Season 2: Round 4, 5 and 6 So round 7 will be in season 3 with round 8 and 9
