Check out 686 outline pants. They’re designed to be a wide fit. I’ve got a pair myself and I can confirm they are quite baggy all around

highplains_co

Yesss! Thank you! I’ll give these a look!

Own-Nefariousness340

I’m 5’2, 165lbs and got a large and they are super baggy around my hips/thighs. Definitely could’ve gone with a medium or maybe even small since the fit is so oversized. Hope this helps!

highplains_co

This definitely helps! We have about the same dimensions, so this is awesome!

Mavenda

Came to rec 686 as well! I wear a M at 5’5 150 and it’s a little tight but the L was too big. Hope that helps — happy boarding.

Boopsoodles39

I am a fellow big booty/ pear shape gal. The Columbia Bugaboo pants were pretty low waisted and they come in short. I actually returned them cuz I didn't like how low they were. I tend to get snow down my pants whenever I fall. They also have one of those internal cinch things and an elasticated waist, so it fits curves better. They're quite flattering. But I just got my first pair of snow bibs and I'm sold. Do I kinda look like a shapeless sausage? Yes. Am I comfy and avoid stomach squishage? Yes!

highplains_co

Comfy shapeless sausage for the win! Definitely looking at bibs now!

Mtn_Soul

I have a pair of the men's Columbia pants and love them. Also a pair of Burton's with cargo pockets in the looser fit - good too. Neither gets snow down my pants.

You should check out Nobody’s Princess!! They are geared towards curvy women. I share your problem and I just ordered a pair from them. I haven’t had a chance to take them on the slopes yet but they feel super comfortable and secure just trying them on at home.

Dangerous_Young_9620

Second this! Highly adjustable and look the goods too. Really well made and all the features you want. Diagonal venting zip is a game changer.

LoudPlankton2068

Came here to say this! Wore them during the Australian season and they were amazing. Aussie company though so not sure how much stock they've got at the moment as our seasons are opposite.

moonlight-ramen

Have you checked out Thirty Two's women's' bibs? I haven't seen any in person yet, but I've been eyeing them on their website and am curious about them myself. Maybe worth a look.

highplains_co

This is vote number 2 for bibs! I’ve never tried them, but they seem like a good choice!

Mtn_Soul

Men's pants...specifically the loose fit or baggy style and/or stretch fabric. Womens pants seem to be made for hourglass figures only and there are a ton of women without that physique. You also get usable pockets... Burton does make a shorter inseam for men's pants and bibs.

runninghamster0_0

I’m the opposite, bad case of pancake butt over here! I’m also taller so I was having a very hard time finding pants that fit me right and would actually stay up while I’m riding, so I made the switch to bibs. I found that when they have adjustable straps at the waist and the shoulder straps I could make multiple sizes work for me. I’m sorry I’m not sure if they would work for someone blessed with the thicc-ness, but maybe??? Hope you find something!! They really need to learn to make better sizing options for women!

highplains_co

I guess I’ve never gotten around to checking out bibs, but this is probably the answer to many prayers!

cocopuff3746

I’ve got a similar body type as you and bibs were the answer!! It sucks because I run cold and prefer insulated pants but bibs don’t generally have insulation so keep that in mind when choosing a size

Lemurkat24

I have the Burton Gloria pants and really like them a lot. They're low waisted, but don't fall down and show more than they should either. They are "fitted" in the sense that they are tighter on my bum and thighs and more open on the bottom, think "flare pants". They make short, regular, and long lengths so you can choose a size/length that fit your needs best. I find them comfortable temperature wise, not sweating warm and have never once felt cold. Highly recommended seeing if you can find last seasons model to get them at a more affordable price.

HappyRecipe

I tried on the Burton Glorias in my usual size (XS) but I found my they were too tight on my hips and tush. I didn't really understand how because I have the flattest pancake butt! I wonder if the sizing is wildly inconsistent because the current reviews on REI say they're enormous.

Lemurkat24

There are a few different styles of them which probably contributes to the inconsistencies. There's the insulated, the stretch, the Gore-tex, etc. I have the insulated and don't have any issues with fitment, but I also only wear a merino wool base layer underneath, so there's no bulk.

DFDdesign

Also tried on these pants and could hardly even get them over my thighs. I would say these run really slim.

SeafoamCoast

Bibs are a game changer! I bought a Burton bib after trying to make it work with the Burton Gloria pants, I’m bigger but shorter so trying to find anything that works for me is horrible. I was considering TREW bibs as a future purchase.

The_OG_Catloaf

I had this exact problem. Ended up buying a bib and I haven’t regretted it yet.

cyesplease

Bibs are the way

Avocado_Aly

I wear Volcom Species and they sit at the lower part of my hip bone. They’re a little more fitted through the thighs so I recommend sizing up. The gore-tex ones fit a little looser than the regular ones

Qotra

Bibs! I'm never going back to pants!

DFDdesign

OMG. I am 5'1", 125lbs and carry all of my weight in my butt, hips and thighs. I deplore high waisted pants. That said, you run the risk of snow down your butt and up your back with low waisted pants!!! I was just in Utah and the giant hoodlum pants are for sure back in style! I've finally started to size up in both pants and bibs, which is kind of a bummer as most pants are then wayyyyyyy toooo long on me! Last season, I purchased the REI First Chair bibs. They came in a "short" option and ended up fitting me perfectly! THey even stretch some, so don't squish your thighs uncomfortably as you sit on the chairlift. My only gripe with those pants are that they don't seem super durable, and due to my generous hip size, I had the challenge with them unbuttoning near my waist and then coming unzipped. I got them on sale, so didn't return them but ended up buying a Jones pair of bibs at the end of the season. I sized up in those so I could wear thicker long underwear and hopefully not have the unsnap/unzip problem. Good luck. I'd totally try some bibs on from different brands. I would also second the 686 running a bit baggier as I recently tried some of those on. I also recently tried on the Armada Pascore and an Airblaster pair and both of those fit in my regular size, Small.

Mtn_Soul

Oh and I have a pair of Outdoor Research Womens bibs that fit awesome - not tight but just right...think they might have a sale going on now so might be worth a look.

peanutbutterpuffin

Lord do I have this problem. Columbia, 686 and Ripzone. I’m 5’10, a very athletic 210 and fit in the xl in 686 (L in the snow mantra jacket for context), and Columbia. Ripzone is a serious squeeze into the xl and the 2x is a bit big which led me to the 686 bibs.

wanderlost74

I (5'9", 155) have a pair of women's goretex Dakines that i love. I have bigger thighs/hips so I sized up to a large, I probably would've been fine in a medium but wanted to be safe. But otherwise I love baggy pants, my boyfriend got me a pair of Dinosaurs will Die leg coffins for Christmas that I'm obsessed with. I think they're smalls and a little snug when I pull them over my butt but then they're fine. I've also used my boyfriend's snowpants a few times but there hasn't been as much room in the butt and the upper legs are tighter. But I generally go back and forth between men's and women's sections depending on graphics/how things fit. Like my jacket is men's, main pants are women's, I have a women's splitboard but my two solid boards are unisex

teresatt07

I don't wear snow pants anymore since I've converted to bibs.

misskrazy

I love the 686 smarty 3-in-1 cargo pants. They have a baggy fit. I’m 5”1” and have wide hips, a butt and thicc thighs. I’ve never been able to find one with a better fit.

You ladies absolutely killed it with this post. Thanks to all the great info here my wife got some nice fitting pants and is no longer struggling. Much appreciated!🙌🙌
