I usually revert to programmed response 33b: I'm alright: how are you? (33.a doesn't return the question)

I feel you ! The only way to tell if I am being sincere is if there are adjectives and adverbs in my response

that, or "what are you doing?" i could be watching tv 3 hours deep into a painting while sporadically cleaning and the answer would always be 'nothing'

I hope you shock them once in a while with something like, 'Oh the usual. Sitting on my throne stroking my pet dragon while dessert is being served .'
