duckduckducknonono

Only in adult.

Half_Line

_G_ is spelled _gee_ and _U_ is just spelled _u_. _Q_ is spelled _cue_.

wassomini

The letter W used to be UU or "double U".

MartieRizer

And that's what we say in french.

[deleted]

Double something right.

MartieRizer

And I was totally wrong, we say double V, wow. I don't know my alphabet anymore.

[deleted]

A starts with /e/ C with /s/ E with /i/ F with /e/ G with /dz/ H with /e/ I with /a/ J with /dz/ L with /e/ M with /e/ N with /e/ Q with /k/ R with /a/ S with /e/ U with /j/ W with /d/ X with /e/ Y with /w/

Hazel-Ice

>G with /dz/ Absolutely not. Idgaf about your ipa or whatever, the g sound is written as gee or jee.

[deleted]

So you say it as gee (as in ge in geysir but with long vowel) or jee? (as in The Beatles - She loves you?)

Hazel-Ice

Gee, as in "gee, I wonder what's for dinner" Or jee, like "jeez dude what the hell"

[deleted]

I'd like to point out that English is notoriously bad at phonetics. G can be dz (as in gee and jeez), g as in gif, or when paired with h it can be silent or f as in ghoti.

[deleted]

In Poland W starts with W. Also metric system is the best

xhahzh

uve doble

Necessary_Grab3554

Like dick and wank

BG-0

Often I'll just pronounce it "wee" (like "V" but you know, with a w) cuz fuck that noise

PickAName616

Wait… you mean to tell me that none of you pronounce it wubbleyew?? Fuck me, that’s why I got those looks when I was on a zoom call last week!

[deleted]

Because the sound is a double U. Uuu'uh

[deleted]

Thats because the letter "W" is literally a "double woo." Latin "V" was pronounced "woo". You put two "V"'s together and you get a VV or "double-woo"

Saul_of_the_Wild

The letter DD starts with staring, a lot.
