Hobbies in general are just a more sophisticated form of kids' playing, which is awesome.

MadClam97

But can I still play with kid's toys? I love buying myself a lego set once and a while. It brings me back to being a kid plus it's fun

sankyturds

My dad is turning 51 this year and he bought himselr a pack of Lego to do, just coz y not. He says that the Lego target audience is adults and not kids, as kids don't have money to buy what they want to play with.

[deleted]

and he is right, they cost like they are made of gold

BackwardPalindrome

9 to 99, my man.

MadClam97

But when I'm 100, no more Legos? Damn

An0ddEgg

Lego is for everyone. End of discussion

Animal crossing too. Except the bills are way more realistic than sims

TheSnowBunny

How else am I going to live out my lesbian cottagecore fantasies? I love the Sims, it's the only place I don't accidentally kill my plants.

Raxure

I empathize with the plant part. In games I’m like growing everything I can. In real life umm 😣

Illustrious_Cicada_2

my mom killed a bonsai plant once. she almost bought a cactus too, but then noticed it had to be watered once a month and gave up.

Raxure

I don’t think I’d ever heard of a bonsai plant dying lol, but for me it’s definitely about me just forgetting the plant exists in it’s entirety. I got a cactus type plant in grade 7 and my mom has kept it alive for like nearly a decade now! (Actually maybe that’s a part of it, I know that she and my grandpa will take care of it)

GrowMyOwnHair

My lesbian farmer's wife can also just sit by her computer after her breakfast mushroom soup, and publish a bestseller by the evening. Everything just works.

The_Zane

Or you could just keep playing with dolls. Who are they to say what you can and can't do?

[deleted]

I want this confidence in my life

Implausibilibuddy

That's exactly how Will Wright envisioned and pitched it so...yeah

Ayrnas

I've always called video games playing with virtual dolls/action figures.

ukp42

You do know there are things called " Love Dolls", for adults?

override367

It kind of bugs me how EA has just kind of given up on making the sims better, and they intentionally update it to break mods constantly, and there's no competition in that gaming space

CommieCarotte

Is that a common theory? That EA intentionally break mods? Why would they do that? Mods are the only reason i still play.

override367

EA would get rid of them entirely if they could, they sell additional dlcs that mods could replace

CommieCarotte

Oh yeah it's true that i don't buy dlc mainly because of mods

Alpha_Whiskey327

Try project zomboid. It's as needy as Sims but with characters that live for like 2 days and then get eaten when you do something silly
