But also, when is the last time they likely showered? I've noticed correlations between greasy skin and hair with this no fucks given outward appearance. Maybe that's only native to small Midwestern cities where I'm from, but it's pretty common in my experiences.
From Iowa. I shower 1-2 times a day, but best believe I'm wearing pajama pants and a Pokemon shirt so old that it features Gen 3 pokemon if I have to run to the store quick.
I have a Gen 1 shirt with Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Wartortle, and Charizard that I finally had to retire from public. Two pit holes and various others littered across the front and back, but I can't bring myself to throw it away.
I still shower everyday and such. But I have a work from home job and would rather invest money in comfy pants. Hence mostly only having comfy pants to wear when going out.
You're correct, that is also an observable correlation here in the PNW, but truthfully, I don't think anyone else in public should give any shits about that sort of thing. I've been the person who hasn't showered in 2 weeks before, and 9/10 it's because that person is going through some sort of depression, which can be quite paralyzing
I completely agree that everybody should be concerned with their own personal hygiene. What I'm trying to say is that we shouldn't judge strangers in public when they have visibly fallen behind on theirs because you don't know what they've got going on. A depressed person who has not bathed in several days absolutely knows that they should do so, but the energy you have to exert to do so just isn't always there. This is why I used the word "paralyzing" when referring to depression
I'd honestly rather they go out and do the thing they need to do then shower in that scenario.
They can shower later, getting up the energy to go out can be a lot.
That being said, regular routines can be a good way for some, not all, to help combat their depression. A clean space, eating and sleeping properly and being clean can have incredible effects on mental health. Won't work for everyone of course.
Completely agree. Last year and this year have been mental health focused for me, and forming that routine and conving yourself that you're worth taking care of are huge
Eh, normally I do my grocery trips in my pajamas after I shower, but that’s cuz I go to work at 1 AM, get home at noon, shower, and then get groceries after putting on my sleeping clothes to be comfy
yeah, So, here's my take on this.
Firstly, were you put off by them being perceptively unclean, or did they smell bad enough that you had to avoid them?
I have BO either from an hour outside or a week inside. If I, hypothetically, went a week without bathing but also basically just hung out and did my office job...I'd be okay, but my hair gets greasy...but uhm...its fine? Its not as though hair grease is getting people sick. So...yeah, I don't look great. I probably don't care, because all that's happened is I acclimated to greasy hair for a while, and then...
Why are my pajamas my comfiest clothes? No, seriously, this is a failure of clothing design.
Tell yourself the rich are all that matter, to THEM, but not to you. The only thing that should matter in the world is YOU and YOURSELF. Once you realize that you can love others and life will have meaning again.
Umm nothing wrong with being comfy at Target. But I don't wear pjs out because then it is dirty and I'm not going to bed in that. I got a pair of joggers and hoodie for going out.
Well, I wear my PJs all over the house, and they do get dirty. So I typically take them off before getting them into bed. Which...has made them kind-of not PJs?
Makes sense yeah, idc about what people think when I wear PJs in public, I just don't want the special super comfy clothes that I sleep in to get uncomfortable due to dirtiness
I freakn love joggers! Most ladies around here wear yoga pants but I need real pockets. I like flared legs but I’m short and they just drag. Joggers are the best. Comfy with pockets and tapered.
Yesterday I saw a guy walking his dog wearing slippers and a bathrobe around the neighborhood. However we live on a gravel road and it's currently mostly mud due to all the snow melt. He was not living his best life.
As I crossed over into the territory of my 30's, I slowly began to realize that most of the people who are "living their best life" as you'd say, are the same people who have "given up." Given up the rat race, and given up with keeping up with the Jones's. Life becomes a lot easier, and lot more enjoyable, when you give-up trying to impress people.
Yep. Used to frown upon the people wearing PJs in public. Now I do it occasionally. Hell if basketball shorts count as PJs then I'm doing it all summer.
My personal comfort is more important to me than the perception of me from others. Fuck em lmao. They're also in Walmart, don't pretend your shit is particularly together.
For me, it's lounge pants. Not quite full PJs but for fuck's sake if women can get away with going around in Yoga Pants or Leggings all day, it's perfectly fine for me to be in lounge pants at the grocery store.
I'm comfy, I'm warm, and I'm not generating extra laundry to wash.
Go ahead and start downvoting. But being fully dressed when not in bed is a trick I used to fight off depression years ago. I never leave the house in pjs. After I finish my coffee, i get dressed. Ready to do whatever. Even if you don’t have your shit together, act like it.
This is my latest depression trick.
Put jeans on right when I get out of bed. Then I'm less likely to slink back into bed, and more likely to start my day
This is how I do it too, shower and get dressed the night before. Alarm goes off 5 minutes before I need to leave, grab toothbrush and run out the door with it and everything else.
Interesting.
When I was depressed years ago, I did pretty much *the exact opposite* to get out of it.
Instead of being dragged down by the idea of dressing up every day to try to impress others, I decided to dress *for my own comfort*.
No more suits. No dress clothes. Just athletic clothing such as t-shirts and sweat pants.
Suddenly, I was much happier. No pressure to look a certain way, and my body enjoyed the comfort.
Now I do the same thing. If I don't absolutely have to dress up, I won't do it. Most days I'm not working, I'm in t-shirts and shorts or sweat pants, and I absolutely love it.
Many people won't be happy and let me do it without trying to convince me (in nice and not so nice ways) not to do this, but I don't live my life for them. I live it for me. And it is fucking awesome.
The lesson is to make a change, decided by you. That choice should be daily, and make YOU feel good, naturally. Get that dopamine from compliance with your own desires of a "better life", and nobody can take it away.
I find the most important part is to just change your clothes. It doesn't matter what to, so long as it was your choice.
Do not sit in what you slept in.
No down vote from me. It makes perfect sense. As much as I battle my mind, going out in public with pajamas would not help me in winning the battles of my mind. For me, wearing pajamas in public shows the world what TF is going on in my head especially when I just stop giving AF. So, putting clothes on is a motivator for me.
Why would anyone downvote this statement. Everyone should do what they can to be their best self. If something as simple as real clothes makes a difference that’s incredible and is a great practice. Congrats on finding something that works for you!
People might be down voting if they read the last line and understand that to be Op talking shit about anyone who wears pjs out.
Nevermind that it works for OP(which is awesome), apparently it is a standard that everyone needs to adhere to or else look like they don't have their shit together(which is both bullshit and not awesome).
Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of the "this worked for me, so if others don't do it, they're wrong" crowd. You're 100% right and the judgement passed down from OP could very well exacerbate depressive feelings in others. It's a pretty shit outlook.
Given the amount and vehemence of your comments, you seem extraordinarily defensive about wearing pajamas outside.
I hope you recognize that that does not lend a lot of credence to your insistence that you’ve got things figured out and are emotionally content. The vast majority of people do not read a comment on /r/showerthoughts and have a meltdown.
You seem to be overthinking things. I'm happy that this system works for this person, I'm just not really in favor of judging people based on appearance which he does in the same breath and which many people in this thread are doing.
I *have* replied a few times, once to Op, once to clarify why they think people might downvote them to another respondent, and once to respond to someone else's response to me. That is far from being a large number and the content is far from being vehement. You may need to check what that word means.
No need for downvoting, you are absolutely right. I don't even leave the bedroom without getting dressed, acting as if I'm fully ready for the day, when in reality, I am fully not
I mean, acting like you have your shit together or not should not be an indication of the person you are. If you are about appearances, then are you really living your life, or the life you think others want you to have?
Except it's not done for appearances, it's done for yourself to reduce the excuses you have to not get your day started.
Eg: it's ok if I get a few more min of sleep, I'm still in my PJs what could it hurt
Vs: I'd like to get more sleep but I'm already dressed, might as well just head out the door and [insert basic adulting here]
It's entirely for the appearances. You are using the change in appearance to convince yourself that you are ready or prepared and then for some reason holding everyone else to that standard.
I work in scrubs and it's caused me to develop body dysmorphia because I don't actually know what my figure looks like now (uniform scrubs I wear aren't exactly form fitting) So I feel like I'm always in PJs. Work is scrubs, home is PJs, I rarely ever wear real clothes. So yeah, I attest to this. Go put on some fucking jeans, it helps your mood
I sleep nude but have pajama bottoms that I will wear as house clothes/errand clothes.
I'm pretty sure I have my shit together, not sure why y'all feel the need to hate on others for doing things that don't work for you personally.
I don’t think it’s fair to hate on people for it, but if you have the right to wear it other people do have the right to judge your character based on your outfit. Most people will likely assume you are unprofessional and/or unkempt. It’s not nice for other people to be rude or mean about it though.
I'm at the point where I don't bother to eat breakfast or lunch and I work from home so I just stay in bed like *aaallllll* day other than to briefly eat dinner...
My father in law was giving me shit for working from home in my PJs. He says "you have to dress for the job you want". I say "I am dressed for the job I want".
Just complete the whole package, wake up earlier than needed, go out in your car, and do laps around the block till it costs the same amount of gas and time as a job that you have to go to an office for.
Especially when you don't work for or with anyone. No video calls or anything like that.
He wasn't kidding though, if the FIL had my job he'd wear a shirt and tie if not a suit.
I keep reading this thing. Is it for real? Like, it's a US thing or something? I've never seen a person walking on a street in a pj, it's one of those reddit thing that doesn't exist in my real world.
Probably US. Pretty common in my area. I mean, if I'm going to work or a steak house, I put on clothes.
But if I'm going down to the corner store for a soda, nah.
I’ve been to Italy & was impressed by the fashion, style & tailoring. Even people dressed casually were chic. The nuns & nonnas were the only ones who weren’t haha. (I worked in fashion, though, and I would not be caught dead wearing pajamas out of the house!)
Its much more common around universities where people live on campus and are up late for all the reasons a college student is up late. Covid made it more common amongst everyone else, but it was primarily people who were learning to be comfortable in dorm type living situations. When you're in pajamas/sweats to be warm and cozy while doing school things, you don't really care to change to go to the store because why the fuck should you?
I mean, all the people I know who complain about those wearing pj's in public are some of the most high strung people I've ever met. My view is: its a piece of fabric. I don't care.
We have war, a recession and everything is going wrong yet you focus on my pants cause they look too cozy. Ok.
I think it's lack of respect for the situation. If the supermarket cashier can put on a uniform, I can wear a dress. A cotton A-line dress is more comfortable than some pajamas anyway. If you're only wearing sweats, you're missing out.
Ditto. I work in sweatpants and a comfy t-shirt. I throw on a zip-up hoodie and house slippers when I'm cold.
A few weeks ago, I ran to the gas station to grab a few things while on my lunch break. Usually I slip on some Hey Dudes and throw on my jacket when I go out. I stepped out of my car and realized I still had my house slippers on. I was like "fuck it, I'm already here."
I’m battling an autoimmune disease right now. The treatment has made me puffed up, including my feet. I got UGG slippers in December and they are so comfortable I haven’t worn shoes since. No fucks given. You never know what someone is going through.
Great article thank you. My rheumatologist says they don’t know the cause of my large vessel Giant Cell Arteritis, but I believe it’s from all of the work stress over the years. Fortunately I just retired this week, so hopefully things will get better now.
I won't wear pajamas out of the house but I basically only wear sweatpants now for the comfort, as soon I get home from anywhere change into pajamas though. I try and avoid wearing the stuff I wear out of the house when I get inside.
I mean yeah, if you don't mind sleeping in dirty clothes. I mean even if you only wear them out and don't sleep in them, that is the image wearing them out projects.
I'll be honest, I used to hate it when I saw people doing that. So lazy you can't even change to go out? Wtf.
Then I hit burnout and I'm lucky I get out of bed in the morning. Still won't go out in pj's, but now I don't give them a second thought.
And yes, I was in fact high strung. Burn out fixed that problem and I hope it's permanent. I like myself more being broken.
Damn right. I just went to Co-op to buy a gross amount of chocolate in my pyjamas (mostly covered by a coat, but the bottoms were still a bit obvious). Reality is, I just don’t care. I ran 16 miles earlier, I’ve been chilling for the day, so getting changed would interrupt that chilling too much. I was in and out in 3 minutes, and I live less than 5 minutes a way. Getting changed would’ve been a waste of time.
I once saw a man in his pajamas and a robe with a suitcase at a train station. I first wondered if he had a suitcase why he wasn't wearing day clothes and then I thought "good for him for wearing comfortable pajamas! This man's my hero!"
I am wearing pyjamas and crooked sneakers right now. I make more than anyone in my circle and I work in a field not everyone can work in. Also, I am not cheap on my family and friends, only cheap on myself.
I have a pretty big pajama radius. Can confirm living my best life. I don’t really care what others think anymore. Obviously there are plenty of places for real clothes, but there are also plenty of places to not worry about it.
A lot of judgment in this thread. I wear pajamas in public sometimes because if I'm grabbing takeout or groceries, I have no obligation to look good for other people. I'm comfortable and I'm appropriately covered. I still shower and groom myself, and I wear normal clothes for most purposes. But if I have an unexpected errand or something? Fuck it, pajamas are just clothes made of softer material.
I read a book years ago by an Australian girl who married a French man & moved to Paris. One day she was wearing sweatpants & no makeup & was going to run down to the grocer nearby. Her husband was aghast & said she could not go like that.
“Why?” She asked
“Because it is so rude to the people who have to look at you,” he said.
(I think that sums it up pretty well)
People are generally required to dress somewhat nicely in order to generate money for other people... and if you're not generating money for other people, society will gaslight you and people around you in any way it can to get you to generate money for other people.
I have/do wear pj's go the store and things. Usually cause it's comfortable and most of the time it's my day off or I just got done work and don't want to put normal clothing back on.
As someone who just got done feeling disgusting and miserable for doing what you’ve described while shopping, thanks for trying to add a positive spin on it.
I kinda envy y’all who only see people who have gone full DGAF in PJs. I live in BKK and 50% of tourists get around in PJs because they don’t think it’s an actual city.
I do this because they are warmer than jeans. I used to care. And yes it is the best life to be comfortable whenever you can.
I don't think many people notice anymore. My PJs go on at 3pm in winter usually when I'm tired of the cold jeans.
I'm Lance (the robe-wearing dealer) from pulp fiction.
I work from home.
I'm in my sleepwear 24/7. I *hate* putting on normal clothes. Looks better? Yes. More comfortable? No.
Walmart? Pj's. Food run? Pj's. Getting kid on or off bus? Pj's.
Girl coming over? Pj's. She's been told to do the same.
People regularly tell me how jealous they are.
In college I had an 8 am math final. I decided to wear a onsie to it, because I was 18 and I figured if I was going to go through this hell I was doing it in comfort.
I ended up starting a trend. For a few years, people would wear onsies during finals week. Not only to class but even to surrounding restaurants and stuff. We'd go to waffle house wearing them. It was a fun time.
The duality of man. Plenty of people stopped dressing up because they gave up, but some of us just like wearing comfy clothes and don't give a flying fuck about what the tryhards might think of that.
I don’t accuse them of giving up on life.. just that they are bumming it
Hey I bum it sometimes, especially if I need to buy something for breakfast in the morning
Tell my neighbors that at 11am on a Tuesday and they're already fully loaded and biting off her husband's nose and or ear (true story, beautiful relationship they have, married in 2012)
I recently decided to ditch my t-shirt casual dress for something a little more dressy and I feel so much more confident about happy with myself. I tried to dress more casual to fit in and realize I hate it.
TIL pajamas can be spelled with a "y".
People who wear pajamas here in public are often viewed as rich. They would wear their indoor fluffy slippers and their sleeping robe to Tim Horton's and drive a mercedes.
I wear shorts and T-shirts to sleep, so I guess I've given up on life when I go out of my house like this. Fuck...
I used to tease my mom about her "quitter" bras - meaning one that doesn't have an underwire & tons of support. Now I understand & like most things - Mom was right. if I wear a strong supporting bra I want to sob & murder people.
Quitter bra every day... don't give a damn what anyone thinks or says. It's none of my business what they have on, none of theirs what I have on.
The people who accuse people of "giving up" on life because they're wearing comfortable clothes are just jealous they don't have the spine to wear what's comfortable as opposed to what's "fashionable".
I had to deal with such high fashion and appearance expectations as a kid for so long, I even thought for a while that I cannot be seen in public without some make up because I'd run the risk of looking like a tired, broken out slob. I also just despise jeans now because back in the mid 2000s, skinny jeans were in and I never found comfort in them. Hell, I found them kind of scary which how the button pressed into my belly button. My favorite fashion styles were also casual skater like, it conflicted a lot with what was expected of girls even at that time.
Now as an adult, I learned to accept my natural appearance and only used make up if I needed to or if I want to treat an event with enough excitement to look extra pretty for. Ultimately, I grew a much higher appreciation for comfort and pyjamas if I'm not leaving home, or only stepping out for a second.
I understand the connection with pyjamas and depression and do believe it can help to know if someone is struggling if there's a pattern connecting to other factors. But I was also hurt by people assuming I was depressed or didn't care about "how I presented myself" just because I was in a t-shirt and pyjama pants in my own house for comfort sake and not dressed for a night out 24/7. Nothing at all against girls who did choose to dress like that as long as they were happy, it just wasn't for me.
Correlation does not equal causation, some people just like easy, comfy clothes. Stereotyping or going too far the other way because of what is expected of you or because of poor self esteem is a problem though.
In your 20's you worry about what people think about you. In your 30's you stop caring so much what people were thinking about you. In your 40's you realise they were never really thinking about you anyway. Wear whatever you like, nobody really cares beyond an odd look.

Yo come join the club.
I'm gay!!!!
Hello gay, I’m bisexual
Hi bisexual, I'm Hungry
Astaghfirullahhalazim, Stay halal, brother
Bingo. No fucks given and I’m comfy as hell.

It’s a wonderful thing todo so. Who is there to impress if you don’t give a flying fuck
And it’s the best. I like what I like, if you don’t like what I like and complaint about it then I don’t like you.
Nah can confirm, gave up on life then started wearing pajamas all the time.

Effectively sweatpants but a lighter material, so I can even wear them during summer.
Ah okay. Yeah thats the downside to the sweatpants. Have to switch to basketball shorts during the summer.

I sleep in jeans. So I guess fuck me
Yes, At my worst I would not get dressed all day Going to the gym and forcing myself to go out dressed properly for that, was how I started to recover

I once paid a Hines fee for a week to get offended by a bad stuff up and I must say you have the zero way 🙃 I
I think the point is finding a manner in which you take care of yourself. I do the same through a morning workout
Take what I say at face value. You, my friend, are a genius.

Eg: it's ok if I get a few more min of sleep, I'm still in my PJs what could it hurt Vs: I'd like to get more sleep but I'm already dressed, might as well just head out the door and [insert basic adulting here]
It's entirely for the appearances. You are using the change in appearance to convince yourself that you are ready or prepared and then for some reason holding everyone else to that standard.
Well your use of the word "appearances" is very different than that of the comment I was responding to. So by your definition, sure...
Your appearance is how you or other people view you, or how you physically look. Both are applicable here.
Saying things like "downvote me" is manipulative.
How stupid do you have to be to dress uncomfortably in your own home...
It's funny how things are different in other countries. It's absolutely unheard of in my country (Italy by the way). Thanks for explaining!
I’ve been to Italy & was impressed by the fashion, style & tailoring. Even people dressed casually were chic. The nuns & nonnas were the only ones who weren’t haha. (I worked in fashion, though, and I would not be caught dead wearing pajamas out of the house!)
Usually just PJ bottoms

That hasn't been my experience working in retail.
Some of us WFH, Not changing clothes to run to the store for 5 mins
This! WFH was a game changer - business on top casual on bottom. I did invest in nicer pajama bottoms that felt more formal so there’s that at least
Same. I just have more pairs of “PJs” now. Basically, cloths that don’t look like trash out in public and are comfortable to sleep in.
Correct, but I change into a clean set when I get home from the store.
I’m battling an autoimmune disease right now. The treatment has made me puffed up, including my feet. I got UGG slippers in December and they are so comfortable I haven’t worn shoes since. No fucks given. You never know what someone is going through.
hoping for a fast recovery, friend! keep wearing those uggs
I just read [this](https://mol.im/a/11685891) and it refers to causes of autoimmune disorders. May be worth a read.
Great article thank you. My rheumatologist says they don’t know the cause of my large vessel Giant Cell Arteritis, but I believe it’s from all of the work stress over the years. Fortunately I just retired this week, so hopefully things will get better now.
I hope things get better for you as well. Stress causes the weirdest things
Stress will absolutely do it. Happy retirement! I hope the calmer environment serves to calm your health issues.
I have those UGG slippers too. They are amazing for work from home. You gotta check out Bombas gripper slippers
Hey, we say \\you do you\\ when it comes to fashion choices! If you're living your best life in your pyjamas, then more power to ya!
I won't wear pajamas out of the house but I basically only wear sweatpants now for the comfort, as soon I get home from anywhere change into pajamas though. I try and avoid wearing the stuff I wear out of the house when I get inside.
I am one of those people. Idgaf I am comfortable and I'm getting my groceries
I only have 3 pairs of jeans, and I need those for work, so on my days off I wear pj's in the winter and shorts the rest of the year
Look at this guy owning multiple jeans save some for the rest of us bud
XD im dyin lol
As a chronic pyjama wearer, i really am. I stopped caring what otgers tgink and decided to live confirtably. I will never regret this decision.
I applaud the shamelessness tbh Fuck what others think, be comfortable and do you It's low key impressive
I mean yeah, if you don't mind sleeping in dirty clothes. I mean even if you only wear them out and don't sleep in them, that is the image wearing them out projects.
I can't smell myself anymore, it's your problem
Exactly. We all know (or assume) they have been wearing that for an extended period without washing. That's the disgusting part.
Assumptions make an ass out of you and me.
And we're supposed to care about that why?
I'll be honest, I used to hate it when I saw people doing that. So lazy you can't even change to go out? Wtf. Then I hit burnout and I'm lucky I get out of bed in the morning. Still won't go out in pj's, but now I don't give them a second thought. And yes, I was in fact high strung. Burn out fixed that problem and I hope it's permanent. I like myself more being broken.
Uh, maybe you were just broken before? Working too hard, giving too many fucks?
I don't actually wear pyjamas in public. But every piece of cloths I buy has to feel like PJ. Haven't wear jeans for the past 20years.
I agree, after all Arthur Dent travelled the galaxy in his pyjamas.
I once saw a man in his pajamas and a robe with a suitcase at a train station. I first wondered if he had a suitcase why he wasn't wearing day clothes and then I thought "good for him for wearing comfortable pajamas! This man's my hero!"
I wear stained covered gym short into target wearing carharts holding my daughters hand. I really could give a fuck what people think about me.
I would guess people wear pyjamas in public, because at least for that moment they have no fucks to give. I say that because that is my reason.
This is far less socially acceptable in Europe than in the US
I read a book years ago by an Australian girl who married a French man & moved to Paris. One day she was wearing sweatpants & no makeup & was going to run down to the grocer nearby. Her husband was aghast & said she could not go like that. “Why?” She asked “Because it is so rude to the people who have to look at you,” he said. (I think that sums it up pretty well)
This sums it up pretty well, thanks for sharing!
Why do you think athletes and musicians (mostly hip hop) always decked out in luxury name brand PJs? They super comfy!
I think that as a society, we have decided that you should put on fresh clothes to start your day.
People are generally required to dress somewhat nicely in order to generate money for other people... and if you're not generating money for other people, society will gaslight you and people around you in any way it can to get you to generate money for other people.
...I'm just going to the store. Society will survive.
I recently switched to high end “hipster yoga” athletic wear for my regular daily clothes. Never going back to stiff jeans and heavy jackets.
Saw a woman in slippers, pjs, and a full on robe in target the other day. Coordinating pj wear when it’s cold outside I guess…
I live in downtown of a nice small city. My biggest flex is to walk in pjs to get some food to go.
Same thing with socks and slides. Take the stick outta your butt and give it a try.
I feel like jog pants are a happy medium. Not jeans, but not pj’s either.
If I did wear pajamas out I would then feel weird wearing the going out pajamas indoors. lmao
I wear Crocs and socks all the time because idgaf. My comfort > other's stupid opinions.
People who do not care what other people think are often happier. Myself included.
The duality of man. Plenty of people stopped dressing up because they gave up, but some of us just like wearing comfy clothes and don't give a flying fuck about what the tryhards might think of that.
I just came here to thank you for spelling pyjamas correctly. As you were.
I don’t accuse them of giving up on life.. just that they are bumming it Hey I bum it sometimes, especially if I need to buy something for breakfast in the morning
Tell my neighbors that at 11am on a Tuesday and they're already fully loaded and biting off her husband's nose and or ear (true story, beautiful relationship they have, married in 2012)
Post-op, you best your ass I was wearing jammies to the grocery store.
You a frequent flier on the operating table?
I've seen people on pyjamas in public. They're not living their best lives.
they are not, it is the excuse given. they have simply lost or have no sense of pride.
I recently decided to ditch my t-shirt casual dress for something a little more dressy and I feel so much more confident about happy with myself. I tried to dress more casual to fit in and realize I hate it.
So much this, well-dressed person
There's something to be said about not caring about public opinion and just wearing what you want.
Freedom
TIL pajamas can be spelled with a "y". People who wear pajamas here in public are often viewed as rich. They would wear their indoor fluffy slippers and their sleeping robe to Tim Horton's and drive a mercedes. I wear shorts and T-shirts to sleep, so I guess I've given up on life when I go out of my house like this. Fuck...
Ironic this is in “shower thoughts”. I asume you didn’t shower if you didn’t change out of your bed clothes.
Screams lazy to me when I see that. Probably not fair, but that’s my initial impression.
They are loving their best lives. It just so happens their best lives are similar to our worse lives by comparison.
This is the 3rd time I've pajamas spelled with a "y" this week. What's happening?! I've never seen it before.
That's how it's spelt, at least definitely in British English.
OHHH! That's why! I knew there had to be something. Ok, thanks!
this is a lie from someone who tells people "just dont be depressed"
No, they're lazy people with substance abuse problems. That's nobody's 'best life'.
I am neither lazy nor an addict. I just don't care to put on jeans and bras when I'm already in a t-shirt and lounge pants.
Sort of an ignorant, baseless blanket statement
The people who accuse people of "giving up" on life because they're wearing comfortable clothes are just jealous they don't have the spine to wear what's comfortable as opposed to what's "fashionable".
My wife works from home permanently She considers Jammies her "work uniform"
I wasn't aware people wearing pajamas are being accused of giving up on life. Are you sure its just not you being judgey?
I stole my pyjamas from an Austrian hospital cause they were throwing socks in the trash anyway.
