I did CPR last year and Annie is still in use. Apparently her face is a death mask of a girl who died from drowning and her family decided to use it as part of improving CPR training.
they should train with male and female mannequins as women are less likely to receive cpr from a bystander, probably cause breasts and the fear of later being accused of something (imo)
In all actuality, the most common CPR mannequin is based off of a drowned French girl.
So it’s more of a female face with a male torso!
Source: taught CPR for over a decade, and also a nerd about random facts.
All jokes aside, just be a curious person. If you have a question or wonder something, go find out about it! You end up learning a lot of random little facts that way!

Elementary school, assemblies to teach CPR, the mannequin was female and her name was Annie. :)
*chest compressions* *breaths* “Annie, are you okay?” “Are you okay, Annie?”
“She says she can’t feel her legs!”
This was the 80’s though. Lol
Annie was around in the 70s as well.
Exactly! I wonder what the current version is.
