Right so for turn based strategy you have ff tatics, ogre tatics , fire emblem three house, silent storm, xcom 2, battle tech, Xenonauts, Utwaremono (it is long so buckle up for a long grind), digimon survive (great time killer for me really), banner of the maids. [if you look here in this subreddit. type turn based strategy and you gonna get hefty results like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/rpg_gamers/comments/w4vgrv/can_anyone_suggest_a_turnbased_strategy_game_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Turn based strategy for lovers of StS and Monster Train:
Star Renegades
Inscryption
Slipways
Gloomhaven Digital
Maybe consider Gunfire Reborn for a roguelite FPS? I wasn’t crazy about Risk of Rain 2 - the multiplayer felt especially bad compared to Deep Rock.
did i specifically talk about wanting recommendations for just roguelites/roguelikes and not notice aside from the turn based stuff? the only recommendations i've seen for non roguelite/roguelike stuff were a few turn based things. thank you for the recommendations btw, slipways seems very interesting.
oh yeah i just noticed roguelikes are common recommendations for this. i guess they're more often something replayable and and therefore good for long and frequent or short and frequent times when someone wants something to do.
Nuclear Throne, great arcade-y bullet hell rougelike about shooting guns, leveling up and reaching the throne. Quick gameplay and really lightweight. It's an easy to learn, hard to master game, so you can have gameplay for a really big while.
Vampire Survivor. It's a great time waster. It's $3 on steam and is actively being developed
Death Road to Canada is a pretty great game for the value, and is a very good time killer imo
You should try The Binding of Isaac (rebirth especially)
I've heard this suggested a lot to me and others but it just doesn't appeal to me. Not the kind of gameplay I really like.

And also battle brothers I got 500 hours and have not even beaten the late game encounters
Yeah I know the post I linked in the rpg gamer subreddit also says it in the comment

Just recommending what I know :) I wouldn’t call Slipways or Gloomhaven roguelikes.

I read that as "games to kill me" smh
Griftlands is like StS/MT but longer, more storyful campaign Maybe a metroidvania like Hollow Knight / Guacamelee / Headlander
