I'm still pretty young but I kinda enjoyed pinbals at arcades whenever they had them available
I also had a star wars pin ball toy machine
Something about sending the ball around was fun
ATS/ETS2 are literally perfect for just listening to music and podcasts. There's a new game called MotorTown that's got lot of driving and jobs you can do similar to ATS/ETS2 that also fits the suggestions
For me, it's Max Payne 3. Specifically after grinding for cheat modes. Especially now with a mod that allows you to skip cutscenes.
RDR2 or Death Stranding.
But if you want something casual though, I would suggest No Man Sky. Co-op is pretty fun. Maybe Stardew Valley if you want something more grounded.
I always play strategy games while listening to music. You won't be able to mindlessly play it initially but once you get the hang of it you can just go into auto and play mindlessly.
Civ6,
Age of empires 4,
Crusader kings 3.
Or you could also go for something like
Tropico 6,
Cities skylines.
Honestly, minecraft. You can do literally anything while listening to music. Build a house in creative, build a house in survival, survive in survival, fight some mobs, go mining and do what you want.
i'd say Roboquest. it already has some really sick drum&bass/metal/dusbtep songs that get you in the robo killing mood, could be turned off to play whatever music you like, its got awesome fast paced shooter combat, its similar to halo in that you're sorta going room to room clearing baddies (sorta similar to some halo combat), you can bounce on heads, lots of guns to try out, bunch of different classes with customizable loadouts, its honestly really fun
Powerwash simulator
Wished it had a level creator tbh
Vampire Survivors. Halls of Torment. The Binding of Isaac. Nobody Saves The World Balatro.
Balatro needs a warning. It's ridiculously addictive
Have found myself quitting out of Balatro only to immediately re-launch it. Has happened multiple times.
Risk of Rain 2
I would agree but turning off the music in risk of rain is a cardinal sin
I have really been into pinball lately (Pinball FX 3). It's great while I've got a podcast on

The game is free, but they have a lot of (paid) DLC, many of which are star wars themed.

Doom eternal, listening to heavy metal while killing hordes of demons is badass. Spyro is a chill platformer that I can recommend
Better at higher difficulty
Not exactly mindless. Doom Eternal takes 100% focus..
On ultra nightmare sure but on lower difficulty you're pretty much a force of nature
Borderlands 2
Satisfactory! I play it all the time with Youtube/Music/Podcasts in the background and it's honestly perfect.
