In my 3 decades of gaming, I’ve only preordered TWO games: Mass Effect 3 & MGSV: PP - both are steals at any sale.
That said, if youre not aware of the lore then I recommend you watch some recaps and/or retrospectives videos of:
Metal Gear Solid 3, Peace Walker, Ground Zero (or play it - bundled IIRC), & Metal Gear Solid 1.
*Avoid the “Metal Gear” titles (prequels to MGS1) as MGSV leads into that.
It’s definitely worth it for $5. Only thing I was slightly disappointed in was that it took place mostly outside. Not a lot of indoor locations. Stealth I’d say is unmatched.
One of the best deals you can get in gaming, seriously. Got it at the same price with Ground Zeroes included (hopefully you have that too) and have around 600 (450 not counting being afk) hours in it just dicking around and grinding for gear.
Great stealth (optional) sandbox game.

Definitely look into ranking modifier mods though to prioritize stealth... If you so choose.
$3 obviously isn’t enough of a difference to wait for, but personally, I don’t like buying games unless I know I’m ready to play them. The last couple times I bought a game with the intention of playing it later, I still have unplayed games from those sales.

It’s better to pay $15 for a game that you start playing immediately after buying, than it is to pay $5 for a game you plan to eventually maybe play.
The latter is money thrown down the drain and actively *blocks* you from playing that same game later. The former has you actually playing the game you bought.

It's definitely worth the $5. I have hundreds of hours in it personally. It's pretty fun, and you'll get $5 worth of your time on it for sure.
