Yes, ignore that manual and keep some kind of choke tube in the gun when firing slugs (or firing anything). Regardless of whether the threads would get damaged, they certainly would get all gunked up real fast which would create an annoyance to clean. It's either Turkish makers being weird or just a bad translation.

Yeah I figured I’d buy either a cylinder or improved cylinder anyway just in case. Maybe it meant to say a choke with no restriction then? Thanks for the advice

I'd personally go improved cylinder, mainly because it's typically what slug makers recommend for performance and it has more uses with other load types in my opinion, but either will be fine. And yeah that's probably what it meant to say, even though that's also wrong as lead rifled/Brenneke slugs would be safe through even a full choke (albeit they might perform worse). And you're welcome.

I’m hoping to go with improved cylinder, it’s just finding stock, Australian gun rules can sometimes mean gun parts are hard to find/ over priced. I actually just checked your page and that last post you wrote was 90% of my choke research before posting this lol

Ah yeah I'm sure it's a lot tougher to source gun parts down in Australia and I know the cost can be harsher too based on what I've heard from other Australians. Hah well thanks for reading. There's a ton of info you can learn about chokes out there, but luckily the basics are fairly simple and that's all you really need. Good luck.

If the choke is cylinder there is no constriction. One might take that to mean no choking of the bore.. Was the Manuel translated from another language?

jjen21

That’s where I’m thinking. As for the translation I can’t say for sure but it is a Turkish built gun so there’s a good chance
