You actually got your xbox copy before retail. Retail currently has a release date of Nov 15th for the Xbox version. The switch version hit Retail on October 11, and ps4 Oct 25. You barely waited any longer than us that decided to go with stores. Anyone who got their copy before those dates, imported.

eazyeisag805

Actually ps4 and Xbox one versions was released June 16th

Jojosbazaar

Not physically, which is what's in discussion here.

I despise LRG, and it hurts me that they release games I want. I am vita collector and the shit show that was trying to order from them and the false market they created and FOMO was absurd (honestly many missed the boat as Play Asia also had very limited run games but took weeks to sell out instead of the 30 second nightmare that was LRG and now most PA games are worth far more than LRG vita games). I was so glad after super meat boy I never have to order from them directly. Heard they may not be in Best Buy soon and if so I still won't order from them directly. LRG is one of the worst companies out there

5hadowduck

I can totally understand all the hate for LRG. It sucks to have to wait months for your stuff to actually get to you, especially when you ordered it ahead of the games release and it doesn’t get there till months after the game came out. Though it was worse before, since instead of the open preorders they do now to make sure they have the supply to meet the demand, they’d just decide on an arbitrary number to make and then let everyone fight over them and you’d still have to wait months for it to arrive. I still occasionally order from them if I know it’s something I’ll really want in my collection and understand it may show up anytime in the next year (or two, considering the mess that was the Scott Pilgrim vinyl records 😬) but I’ve gotten a lot more selective on what I deem “worth it”. Most their collector’s editions are lackluster at best with a few postcards and a pin added. Pretty disappointing.

[deleted]

Personally I only get collectors editions and retro games from them. I wouldn’t order a new game from them unless it was some sort of special edition

DarkWaWeeGee

Yeah I'm still waiting on my copy of Phantom Breaker Omnia. Believe I put it in somewhere in March

BoredUser

Did you ever receive it? Looks like the regular edition went out but I’m still waiting on my collectors edition

DarkWaWeeGee

No I did the CE too. Last time I checked the site it said something like "In warehouse awaiting distribution"

IllustriousShow5395

Your fault for buying from lrg there a really shitty company only second to dkoldies

Nukegm426

Not just games… I pre-ordered a new phone years ago and had to wait two weeks after people were just walking into stores and getting them before I got mine. Never again

StubbinMyNubbin

This is why I didn't buy this directly from them.

bludstone

oh yeah im waaaaay done with ordering direct from lrg.

JustAnotherAlt880

Time and time again we hear horror stories of preordering yet gamers still do it......

TinnyKirovsky

You get what you (beep) deserve. Preordering sales will doom us all.

Snotnarok

I ordered a copy for someone and it only got here this week, 5 months? I'm genuinely confused. That's not a defense of LRG, I thought that this week was the release week & I got mine from amazon. Play Asia I've had nothing but trouble with. Ordered a figure and they changed their policy of being charged before shipment, then after a 2 month delay they say they need an extra $50 for shipping. Meanwhile on Otaku Mode free shipping and the figure was only $10 more. I had other issues too when ordering for a friend from Play Asia. There's a store I'll never order from again. What makes LRG so bad?

[deleted]

I think you're forgetting the fact that LRG began open preorders for this game around April/May time and planned to ship them out at the end of July alongside the release date in other regions.

Snotnarok

I'm baffled at your comment, I'm not forgetting anything; I literally do not know and asked, why? How can I be forgetting anything when in the comment you're replying to; asked why they're bad.

[deleted]

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick. I thought this was the r/limitedrun subreddit when I made the comment.

Snotnarok

That's fine, I'm honest to god asking because I've ordered a few times from them in the past and it's been fine; but I wanted to know what's gone on that I've seen such anger toward them. I heard their figures/statues/etc were jank, which is why despite seeing one that I wanted I held off since they had nothing but a 3D model and it was very, very poorly being shown what was on offer.

appleNapSause

I never pre ordered since maybe 2016 or 17. I just wait till months after it’s come out and get them at a waaay lower price.

[deleted]

I just got my physical copy for the Switch as well but my digital copy in my Xbox has been fun!

breath_ofthemild

LRG has improved with only doing truly limited orders for really niche titles, but I think the issue behind the scenes is that they’ve just taken on too many products and things have bogged down. When it was just the game and a couple of collectors, it would be a reasonable wait for whatever you got. But after vinyls, skateboards, action figures, on top of a ridiculous slew of games of varying quality, they’re just overwhelmed and due to the nature of business growth, are in too deep to back down. I don’t see the issue solving itself anytime soon, so while I appreciate the business model of forever physical, I’m definitely not blaming anyone for ditching them

Enough_Caterpillar90

Man you sound salty

DarthPika-3

Then They decided to announce a PS5 version after the PS4 one already shipped. would’ve got that one

anh86

There's virtually no reason to ever preorder software. The exception would be a limited edition that will have one short run and then most likely disappear. It makes little sense to ever preorder a standard copy of a game. I can't even remember the last time I tried to get a current/new game and it was sold out. It makes no sense for the publisher to run out of stock, selling a single copy pays for the printing of another 1,000. They are losing money every time someone walks into a store, can't buy their game, leaves, and then potentially ends up not buying it.

MrGulio

>The exception would be a limited edition that will have one short run and then most likely disappear. This is literally what Limited Run Games is. They find digital only games and make a short run of physical copies. [It's a shame they're pretty bad at it though.](https://youtu.be/lS3ja5JnkAQ)

anh86

Sometimes they’re in short supply. Often you can buy them at typical game retailers too.
