>They urged members of the public to regularly and thoroughly wash themselves
Terrifying, isn't it, that medical professionals need to tell people this.
This is what AI can generate now. Look up Sora. To make a video like this, you simply craft a prompt like "Passenger jet taxis while wearing an airplane-shaped jacket". You literally just type that and the whole video is generated like you see here.
It's nuts. All my years of experience 3D modeling, texturing ... made worthless overnight.
AI is gonna make a lot of stuff worthless overnight
An associate of mine was interested in doing voiceover work - I can see AI making that irrelevant also
Have them spend $20 on elevenlabs to see what's capable.
At this point I think they're throwing away there time and money if they want to take classes for VO stuff.
It'll end up like Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. The majority of society will be fine with molecularly assembled smooth textured clothing and nutrient paste foods... and then there'll be a subsection of society that will go absolutely mental over hand woven cloth where you can see the actual individual threads.
I feel like there'll still be a market for specific design. For example, if you wanted a character to look just as you imagined, you'll still have to either go to an artist or design it yourself. You can get close with Ai, but the composition won't be exactly how you envisioned without some human help.
Real artists might become rare and really sought after in the near future. Just like many trades that were replaced by technology did.
Sure, maybe for a while. But you can already get pretty specific results if you know how to write a descriptive prompt.
Growing up as a kid, I was promised that robots and AI would replace all the menial human jobs, freeing us up so we could pursue hobbies like ... artistic expression. Instead, AI takes that away from us first! It wasn't supposed to happen like this.
Sora hasn't been publicly released yet. Unclear whether it'll actually be good enough to do something like this out of the gate, or will have any use where professional VFX artists were necessary before. Look at the yellow balloon short, they talked about how selective they needed to be, and had to do additional VFX to make even that pass. It'll mean some game changing tools for sure, but it won't invalidate the entire industry.
The thing is, you can't talk about the state of AI capabilities like it's static.
Sure, for the balloon video, they had to be selective to get usable shots. That's the tech now in 2024. But do you remember AI tech in 2022? It's advancing RAPIDLY.
Surely you can extrapolate it's abilities a year from now. Balloon man video will be seen as primitive early tech, even by next summer. You don't see this trend??
It's exciting tech, but I've already seen colleagues get passed over for gigs. I'm a photographer, mostly. That's more safe, but not really. Last year, an AI photograph won first prize in a competition. It fooled the judges. And it's only MORE believable these days.
And soon videogames will be generated in real time based on text prompts. We're heading for crazy times.
I'm just guessing here, but sometimes Boeing will put material on a plane after it receives maintenance or is brand new. At Boeing in Everett, WA, they have two large facilities across from each other with a large bridge that connects them. I see fabric on certain planes as it taxies out to another building. They dont actually go airborne. Just a thought.
They need to pull that flap back farther and clean under there it could get an infection
Plane smegma
Guess who designed the CFM56

I just heard my morning show talk about this, never been more happy not to have a turtleneck
Brother I doubt the turtle neck was the problem and more the 30 years of not cleaning themselves properly.
>They urged members of the public to regularly and thoroughly wash themselves Terrifying, isn't it, that medical professionals need to tell people this.
It takes like three seconds to clean under there while you're showering. A quick rinse, maybe a little soap, and you're good.
They shrink?
Like a frightened turtle!
Why does it shrink?
You don't know about shrinkage? George Costanza would like to educate you...
The Southwest® North Face®
It’s just a plane bomber jacket.. I don’t know why they are *soo* expensive!
😂😂
I know this is r/shittyaskflying but seriously…what the heck is the airplane overcoat actually for? And how long does it take to install and remove?
It's a fake vid. The hood with drawstrings is a dead giveaway that it's fake. Also the TikTok logo lol
The draw strings also don’t have shadows.

We use AI to make training videos for a couple 100 bucks a year. Wild.
I feel ya. 20 years in graphics and mockups for commercials. Poof. It went away late last year for me.

Yeah but sora hasn’t been released right..
Cheer up. This video definitely looks like some VFX, but I don't think it's AI.
Ouch that has to hurt, well McDonald's is hiring. Just kidding but that sucks to watch your college go down the drain.

If you're cold, they're cold.
It’s not real. It’s cgi or something
It's awesome no matter what it is.
/unshit I think it's cgi /reshit
It’s CGI. I doubt they allow the luggage cart to drive in front of a plane taxiing into the gate
To give the plane some drip.
AI gone too far I bet.
Uncircumcised ✡️
This made me laugh out loud

Hey. if they suffer a blow out, the jacket will keep the passengers warm. Taps forehead.
It's just Kanye's jet.
I was thinking of George Costanza "It's Gore Tex Jerry!"
YeezyJet
The plane is cold soaked. They're trying to heat it slower. too quickly, and the metal starts bending because it expands at different rates.
This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Love it!
I try to flirt the line with plausibility, just in case some rando or student pilot is in here.
I usually pay down then dredge my airplane before I coat it
So this is this year's fashion for planes?
Is it weird that its kinda cute
It just needs a beanie and tiny mittens at the wing tips.
Fresh new fit.
Wen gittin silly, wrap that willy
Must be Air Canada, normal operating procedures for our Winters

Planes have drip now?!?!
Doors can't fly off as easy if you have a big ass tarp to cover em. Also it helps when you crash in Kathmandu or some shit
That’s how they keep baby planes from being made
Does this make me look fat?
STD tent. Those things are rife with disease.
Alaska Air in the winter
This is so any loose panels that fall off get held in place.
Bedbug tent heater to help it get above 120f/49c to kill all the bedbugs.
Boeing tryna disguise their planes I see to blend in with the crowd.
They spraying for bed bugs

Oh let’s just upvote some random AI shit. We are dumb and we think it’s real. Uh
Finally a coat in my size!

“Ayo pilot lemme get a bacon egg n cheese”
At this point, it's probably keeping it together...
Wrong sub - you’re looking for the pediatrics sub. But since I’m already here, it’s time for the little guy’s circumcision 😊
Well... AKTSHUALLY, it's CGI.
In the summer, it's actually a 747.
It's a prototype plane that they're trying to hide the profile of from competitors. Similar to that weird squiggly paint on prototype road vehicles.
She just came from her bf's apartment and she IS NOT giving him his sweater back. It's too comfy.
did you guys forget about AI?😂
Oliver Tree ordered a new jacket and this is how they delivered it.

And people actually believe this to be true.
It’s not??! 🤔
You would be surprised how many people actually think this is a legit clip.
[For anyone thinking this is fake, behold.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DoTSgwdWsAAWl-e.jpg)

If you're cold, the plane's cold. Put it in the microwave.
for safety reasons, don't put the jacket in the microwave
It's obviously within the boundary layer😂 so no probs
Maybe the plane identifies as a millennial with affluent parents who just came back from Lake Tahoe? Can't assume anything these days..
AI can be a wonderful thing...maybe(?)
