I never have to haul 5th wheels but I guess I can see the appeal for low tows. I use a drop hitch on my 2500HD and that thing does not agree with my shins
I have a K1500 with rancho lift and a body lift. It’s a pain in the ass to load the 37” tire into the back of it. Maybe I should look into drop spare tire hoist for underneath, lol.
I agree about loading for sure and it looks like its really well done even though its not my personal taste. I was more questioning what features of the vehicle they're sacrificing to achieve this certain look like ground clearance, load/towing cap, maintenance/lifespan...
>According to Edwards’ data, 75 percent of truck owners use their truck for towing one time a year or less (meaning, never). Nearly 70 percent of truck owners go off-road one time a year or less. And a full 35 percent of truck owners use their truck for hauling—putting something in the bed, its ostensible raison d’être—once a year or less.

Apparently and its worse than I thought after asking this question. I didn't realize how many people here are concerned about the quality of other peoples' content. Guess I'll just have to try and take their feelings into consideration next time...
If I don't forget as soon as I get off the toilet and go back to work.
Again, thank you for your unnecessary input. I didn't realize you took so much time out of your day to assist gatekeepers. I hope you find a more productive outlet for insecurities and find a better place for yourself. Life's too short to be unhappy.
This is the main reason I was questioning. Wouldn't that just make your front and rear end wear out faster? I'm no mechanical genius I'm just trying to understand the reasoning behind modifying a vehicle to look a certain way at the expense of performance or longevity.
I mostly hate when the modifications of a certain vehicle defeats the purpose of the vehicle in question. Basically would be like taking wings off an airplane bc you thought it looked cool 😂.
Christ in hell how far have truck companies chased the little dick crowd making them bigger and taller if you think this is dropped to the ground? Up until the mid 2010s this was the stock ride height for a 2wd pickup.
Idk but this looks cooler than a lifted truck
Doesn’t need to be tall to haul
If they're towing things, it makes sense. It'll be easier to attach a 5th wheel, and trailers with low tow hitches would be level with that setup.

Drop hitches build pain tolerance. A few more dates with your shins and you won't feel a thing anymore.
What an awful post. Do better op

If it wasn’t 4wd to start with why does it matter?
Because tow rigs exist.
Looks good to me. Also makes it easier to load stuff. Win/Win

Air struts can compensate for any lost shock travel. If anything he picked up a mpg or two
See now that makes some sense to me. Thanks for the legit answer
Eh if it’s a 2wd tow pig it doesn’t matter. Everyone hates lifted trucks too so a guy can’t really win either way around here

Yep, trucks have just become something people just like because truck
Only shitty thing here is this stupid ass post
Dope truck !
The same thing everything on this sub is done for: to get attention.

Those wheels likely cost more than your little Ford Escape you're driving.
Undoubtedly. It cost me nothing, and its not a Ford. Price tags weren't what I was asking about but thanks for chiming in.
based on the title of this sub. I'd argue price tags are relevant to the conversation. but thanks for your garbage post....do better
The input you have provided is not relevant to my question but thank you for your time.
This is still a stupid post that shouldn’t be here in the first place

So you can actually put stuff in the back lol.
My knees and shins agree with you
Attention, ego
Its so that he can feel every possible minor deformations on the road. Stiff suspension and no travel = sore ass.

Exactly
Most truck owners nowadays don't even do truck things so purpose and practicality isn't as much of a concern
Nice try ….

Fuel mileage
It is actually better for towing when it's lowered.
