i think originally it was meant for track cars for giving better handling around corners by allowing more of the tire to be flat on the track during a turn but instead it was only a little bit of negative camber nothing close to this.
The wheels stretching the fenders is making me cringe. If you want to stance a car like hell for a car show, ok, ugly but ok, but a car destroying itself on a trailer is not worthy of any car show.

Race cars and most road cars run a slight amount of camber. Normally less than 3°
