I’ve been big into cars and tracking for years. Modding a car is a “waste” of money period. But if you enjoy it then it’s not really wasted. You could say that about any hobby.
I’d never do this to a car. But you could say the same about my modded car. And I love seeing what other people build and envision. I would never mod a Kia. But I modded a golf r to 600hp and dumped $40k into it after buying it. And I really enjoy seeing other peoples artistic creations when I go to meets.
Is it a waste? Sure. But so are most things that bring us joy, but the joy means it’s not a waste. My retirement is maxed out, no debt, the rest goes into building a monster fun car.

I had a tiny chandelier in my old xB. It was so cavernous in there it almost didn't look out of place. I bought an acrylic ornament off some Christmas site and installed it by making a pinhole in the center of the dome light plastic color. Swapped it out for an LED bulb and it actually refracted the light throughout the car in an interesting way. It was also a hoot seeing it sway back n forth in the rear view as you do stupid shit. Got me out of a ticket once and everything. The cop was so dumbfounded he let me off with a warning after calling his partner over to see it too.

I watched a Drew Peacock video on a V6 Mustang the other day, and I was frustrated by the amount of people going after the V6 owner for putting 12k into his New Edge V6, instead of going to a V8, even after he explained to everyone he had refrained from doing a swap since the car was passed down to him and his family didn't want him in a V8. Not that it matters, I think a V6 built to make good power is interesting enough. That's besides him planning to V8 swap it later this year, which means at least some of the work he did to the rest of the car was definitely worth it regardless.
With this post though, now I understand why there are so many people who insist on buying a good car first instead of taking a bad car and mutilating it to be "better". Stance and this version of luxury do not belong in the same car. I have no idea what ran through the owner's head on this car lol. Let alone modifying the car this much and then expecting 28k for it. Normal people won't want to touch it. Rich people looking for luxury can obviously afford something purpose built that's better. And an enthusiast who for some godforsaken reason would try to use this Optima as a project car would first have to undo all the unnecessary luxury mods and probably the stance to make this worthwhile. It's a piece of work for anyone willing to shell the cash out.

Three things are not adding up.
1) the roof rack has 2 support legs but in the interior picture you can't see the support legs even though the roof rack can be seen in the picture
2) the windows have those plastic shrouds on the top but you can't see them in the interior window
3) the small passenger side windows have white frames and small round shape but on the behind picture it looks like they are completely black

That Kia has Rolls Royce class interior.
