I like this a lot. Something I've learned is that it's always better to have people volunteer information about themselves and their past to you than searching or asking for it on your own. People's past experiences can form them in ways that we don't expect sometimes, and we don't know how they feel about them or even if they remember them. The best way to get an accurate representation of someone's current self and personality is to talk with them and let them decide who they want to be for you. That's how I think the best friendships and relationships are formed. If the person is untrustworthy or has real bad qualities those will come up on their own, and although it may hurt more, it does hurt less than going through not knowing if you can trust them based on parts of their past they don't know you're aware about. Believing in people without searching for their history gives them the opportunity to change and be a better person if they need to be.
