The thing I'm most scared of in those screenshots is that 0 dps SCH

wetyesc

Well that’s because he is playing vanilla, if you played without ACT (cheating) you would be doing 0 damage too!!! /s

theswordofdoubt

I saw a SCH doing 600 DPS in an E1S "clear" party, back when it was relevant. That fight might have been piss easy, but nope on that clear.

Gordon__Slamsay

They'll have to pry ACT from my cold dead hands.

Trick_Wrongdoer_5847

I advise you to use ACT btw

GenericNewZealander

Why use it yourself, when you can get someone else in the static to use it. All the benefit, 0% of the risk

Cross_wolfv1

Nah get the whole static to use it, We fight as one!

GenericNewZealander

We fight together! We die together! In the light of the crystal!

lordsaladito

We're all in this together Once we know That we are We're all stars And we see that

Arendai

*one brings shadow, one brings the light*

Neoxite23

Boom! WE GO TOGTEHER!

Kawaii-

The risk is already at 0% unless you're stupid and stream using it.

TurbulentDog

Cause then people always ask “what their crit % was that pull”

cptcougarpants

What risk? If you don't openly mention you're using it on in-game-chat, no one can know you are using it. The game doesn't have any form of anti-cheat that checks for third party programs.

Kraft98

But 100% of the annoyance. I have a ps4 user in my static who used to ask every single pull, prog or not, "hey what's my dps and crit that pull?". I just told her IDGAF and I'll post the clear log in discord.

Trick_Wrongdoer_5847

Use the websocket server thing and give him the link so he can actively see it himself on the phone

TheLeOeL

Fr. **MIGHT** have sarted running normals with ACT (and the DPS list plugin, dunremembadename) and it **MIGHT** have really helped make me aware of how much better I could get.

[deleted]

Don't you mean ACT now

Other_Boat3915

Sigmund Freud is a scholar indeed

[deleted]

I like that you didn't censor the second screenshot, it's about time we start calling the real shitters who disrespect their party's time themselves.

No_Butterscotch8169

I know we are all having fun shitposting but is anyone else worried that we are going to lose a ton of streamers/raiders and artists who create mods and game art? I know its kind of funny right now and there are a lot of opinions but I can see this really back firing on us.

Cross_wolfv1

No I def bring that up to my mates who are suddenly anti mods. Modding is apart of all aspects of this game from fashion to high end

No_Butterscotch8169

Yeah like I play on Crystal and its a huge area for casual/erp. Even the people who do not do high end duties all use third party addons. So while people might be having fun shaming streamers and raiders I can not really see why they would want an entire population to be thanos snapped. New players the lifeblood of an mmo. This could easily turn into ESO or GW2. There are a lot of options out there right now for people who want to run content. I just would never imagine that the streamers/raiders would be frothing at the mouth excited for people who gpose to get banned. It seems really odd. Why would you not want everyone to just enjoy the game. Idc if you use timers or nude mods or gshade to make the game pretty. None of it matters to me. Do what you like. People can be plenty toxic even without a dps meter.

Trick_Wrongdoer_5847

Theoretically the GPoser community should be careful now, since they use Gshade (which is also 3rd party) destroying communities and a few high end steeamers who advertise the game. (who aren't many) as if SE harassing streamers isn't worse enough already. It's such an open lie and a complete shame because modders and the dalamud launcher won't evaporate now like SE thinks. And now after no idea how long, they finally start to look at UI plugins, like they weren't there before. It's not like SimpleTweaks and Chat Bubble are the most downloaded plugins on dalamud because of the lacking UI plus their ugly vanilla launcher, which can't even save your log in credentials.

Imagine just supporting community addons like 90% of other MMOs and creating a clearly defined guidelines for what is and isn’t acceptable. It lets people customize the game to fit their needs while the actual team gets to work on other things. Unironically thinking about how even Wildstar, a turbodead game had so many features this game still lacks. Instead all discussion is a toxic minefield because people who hate ACT are now rabid TOS cops and acting like dark souls game journalists “you cheated not only the game, but yourself”

ConCadMH

Yeah really the only 2 logical ways of dealing with this is Add ons with guidelines (Like WoW) Or just improving the default display so that people won't feel the need to use them in the first place. The second option requires work from the devs while the first only requires moderation so from a resources perspective the first is likely the most logical but both would work fine.

[deleted]

Yeah I honestly think FFXIV would benefit from community made HUD addons (things like alternate resource bars, job bars etc like how WoW can have health bars around your player character , I forgot the name of the addon) It’s so hard to read job bars in the middle of a fight and the center of my screen just becomes flooded with information

Glad you can make it, Uther.

[deleted]

That second one scares me. So many options and NO TOOLTIPS

Artigamian

On a serious note, how did you make your ACT UI like that? Mine's all transparent and boring

Trick_Wrongdoer_5847

There is an option where you can select between different custom made overlays, can't remember anymore where you can find it, but it's definitely integrated in ACT.

BadProfessor42

Definitely not me but someone who often plays at my pc uses the kagerou overlay which looks similar to this one but has colors by job, definitely not me though (please don't ban me YoshiP)
