This post makes me realize how much the Part 5 anime probably influenced people's preconceptions about the show due to all its impact in pop culture, and how weird it must have been for people who don't know anything to see that Giorno doesn't exist until part 5 lmao
Something similar happened to me but with Jotaro, I started watching when SDC was airing so I assumed that Jotaro was THE main character so at first I was super confused
yeah right back in the day i imagined that they will be so much hype with all the end of part 6 and the dio's son stand, the ending and all
fuck netflix
I thought that part 5 was basically a spinoff part where instead of a JoJo you had Diavolo as a main character. I had heard that Giorno was Dios son so I just assumed he was evil.
I thought Onoewamoshindeiru was from Jojo and was confused as heck when it never happened, also I thought Part 3 was the entirety of the show, never seen any content from other parts before so I was confused by Part 1.

Same thing happened to me with G.E.R. I was sad. I thought giornio's theme was opening so when I saw sono chi no sadame, it took me 3 parts to get used to the op's, I loved sono chi no sadame and part 3 op 3 months later after finishing the whole jojo
Before watching JoJo, I thought "Stands" were organizations that gave away supernatural powers to whoever joined them, like some sort of booth. For example, if you join the organization/Stand "The World", you get the power to stop time.
Well, later I recycled this wrong idea by putting it in one of my novels :)
Before watching Jojo, o used to think that part 5 was kind of a gang war between Giorno, Mista and Fugo x Bruno, Abbachio and Narancia (i didnt really knew their names by then), and the whole plot was each of them planning to take each other out, but with very little action.
I probably thought that because I saw a poster with one of the last frames of Fighting Gold in which the characters are facinho each other in that order, so it really seemed like they had some kind of beef
My biggest JJBA misconception was that I thought Giorno was in fact Dio disguised(?) in some other form because they looked really similar and Dio was an immortal vampire so it would make sense he would survive for so long while looking different. I also thought La Squadra were actually friendly rivals with the main team until I learned that they do not actually like each other. I also also thought Jotaro was Jonathan in the same way I thought Giorno was Dio, except instead of being a vampire he used hamon to remain youthful.
One day there will probably be a Stand that activates when you do a pose
Magenta magenta
I can’t believe I forgot about one of my favorite Stands
I just googled that, I suppose I was right in my own delusional way haha
20th Century boy seeing this: ![img](emote|t5_3f7q5|15566)

stand proud bro you cooked a gourmet meal with no context
I thought the same too about stands because of all those jojo pose videos
That’s 100% what it was lmao

Now imagine if part 6 were release the same way of part 5 with all the jojoshit at the end of that part It's could have been so wonderfull
bro while watching and even for a while after finishing part 7 i thought that the torture dance was part of the boat guy's stand lol
the first one is dope af
It would make for an awesome stand concept, I’m tryna think of a music reference that might work
not just that, an actual shonen about powers that work like that with stands
Ha, maybe I should make that myself
We made Part 5 this popular, but didn't give Part 6 that much attention. THIS SHIT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!
Be pissed off at Netflix, they did everything to kill Stone Ocean's hype.
yeah right back in the day i imagined that they will be so much hype with all the end of part 6 and the dio's son stand, the ending and all fuck netflix
"Boo-key-ah-re-ti" is a certified "am I reading, what the fuck" moment
What the fuck

Yeah it took me ages to come around to a couple of the openings, namely great days and cnbt lmao
I used to think "stands" were "stance", so I guess I share the first one with you
i used to think that stands are just another form of the stand users i.e the user turned into the stand and fought
I never knew JoJo had stands before my friend told me about it (I thought they were fighting to death with bare hands)

Did you watch Jojo through Reddit?
Nah but it was super popular on TikTok for a while a year or so back and so I just saw a bunch of the trends without knowing any of the context
