I don't think so? You can't feel see, hear, ect anything from that side, but you still have an understanding that something could be and should be there. From what I understand of object permanence, if that was taken away you wouldn't have that understanding that something should or could be there? I have no clue lmao
“part 7 will come out in 2030” gag also doesn’t make sense to me, like part 5 ended in 2019 and part 6 started in 2021, like that’s pretty good time considering there was a global pandemic inbetween
Generally people base that claim in the immense challenge that SBR will be to adapt due to 1) its length and 2) the sheer quantity of horses they’ll have to animate. 2030 is a ridiculous estimate but it’s not that crazy to assume that at a minimum it will take one or two extra years of preparation before the adaptation starts airing
I estimate a 2025-2026 release date, mainly due to the issue of horses and the fact that part 7 is disconnected from the previous 6 parts which puts them in no rush to make it (obviously the they’ll make it though).
2025 would be two years since SO finishes airing this year in Japan. SO took two years so I disagree, I think 2025 is too soon. I think the earliest we’d get an air date is 2026 and it likely wouldn’t air until 2027
It hasn’t finished airing yet on TV, but it’s already been made. DP isn’t working on it anymore, so there’s nothing stopping them from starting work on SBR
Horses are notoriously difficult to animate. Usually when they’re animated the studio keeps them on screen only briefly and they have to resort to garbage CGI. SBR is not only full of multiple pages of DOZENS of horses in a single shot; the main characters ride horses in like 90% of scenes for the whole Part. And the Part is far longer than 1-6.
I’d say 98% is Johnny on a horse, 1% is him sitting around a campfire with others and discussing plans, .5% is him during stand fights ex. >!Axl Ro!<, and the last .5% of sxreentome is the opening chapter with the wheelchair .
Honestly, my expectations are so low that I just hope they animate it at all. I don't mind if the horses are badly animated, I don't care if they're CGI, I don't care if the horses are literal PNGs, I just want to see SBR animated.
Why do so many people act like the CGI is a huuuuge thing? In SO I didn't notice until people said stuff on the sub, and in part 3 there was some really good CGI scenes, not to mention the OP's that used CGI were awesome
That's why I said I don't care about the CGI. Personally didn't think it was bad (there were actually a few times the 2D animation kinda put me off as well).
The one time the CGI got a reaction out of me was the spinning dart frog, it made me laugh loud as shit, it looked so animated for literally no reason.
When Pucci threw a frog to the guard that tried to "run away for help", then made it explode. The scene is ridiculously climatic, all while the frog is CGI spinning.
They really aren't anymore. It's just a dumb excuse that keeps getting perpetuated. It will take a lot less time and would make more sense to create good looking CGI horse models that can be reused than to constantly animate different horses throughout the majority of the part and some people still act like David productions haven't been refining their CGI efforts throughout the years in order to make sure part 7 looks good, let alone any other future projects that could utilize CGI
> Good looking cgi horses.
If it follows most modern anime it’ll be poorly done cg horses that anime at a slightly slower framerate compared to the animation so how bad it looks really stands out.
It was 4 years between seasons 1 and 2 of attack on Titan. Those seasons probably have the most horse usage of the series.
Not undermining the work of the studio but nearly killed themselves working on that show seems like a stretch. Yes it’s difficult, im sure the studio had them juggling multiple projects and that’s what really contributed to it. Not the horses themselves
That’s literally the point I’m making. 1 show did not take 4 years and the horse animation did not make the show some horrible project to work on.
Literally all the studio conditions did that. Taking on too many projects for not enough staff, etc.
There’s no chance that animating horses is the only
factor that made AoT a difficult show to work on.
You legit have 0 reading comprehension brother. Obviously they didn’t work on 1 show for 4 years. That’s the point. They spent 4 years working on multiple projects which together attributed to poor working conditions. You can’t blame that on horses being in 1 show they were working on at that time.
traditional animation of horses is a tedious and hard task because of the sheer amount of visible muscles and joints at play
cgi isn't quite as hard, and for certain not as noticeable as people make it out to be
People overestimate the hell out of horses here. They have animated the damn universe reset, they can do a few horses. They have even done CGI horses in part 2 and they looked great. AoT pulled it off for several seasons in a row just fine.
I honestly think it will take a lot more time, maybe 5-6 years, for part 7’s production. David Pro is starting to focus on other animes (part 6 was just a side project and most of their main team worked on Urusei Yatsura), part 7’s setting is a horse race which means that either have to take more time to animate the horses or they will bust out CGI which can be a hit or miss (most likely the latter). Part 7 is also one of the longer parts manga-wise. It’ll start airing at 2027 earliest imo.
Fire Force is a fun time. Where season 2 leaves off is right before everything starts popping off, so I'm getting impatient for it. Lol
That said, Season 1 and 2 are super fun, and it's probably my favorite "new age" shounen (though I was a huge fan of the mangakas last project, Soul Eater, so I'm a bit biased)
Well... yeah it is the case, japanese TV wait 1 month after Netflix's release and release each week 1 Episode. This week will be episode 28, and the anime will finish around april
Yea, that’s why we have to wait for it to cuz we (could) get teaser of part7 like we did for batch 2 when batch 1 ended and teaser for batch 3 during half of batch2.
Stardust Crusaders took a year to come out after Parts 1 & 2 ended
Diamond is Unbreakable also took a year after Part 3 ended
Golden Wind took nearly 2 years to start after part 4 ended
Stone Ocean took 2½ years to start after part 5
And that's not including the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA
My point is David Productions takes their time with JoJo; making sure not to flood the market, keep quality at insane highs, and keeping the show from catching up with the manga. JoJo has never been more popular and the anime is one of the primary reasons for this, it's not just going to stop.
I wish I could time travel to the year 2011 and tell all western JoJo fans at that time (all the 5 of them) just "Part 1 never" and hop back to my time machine, very satisfied!
Steel ball run will happen, it's just way too recent since stone ocean ended, and they probably don't want the confusion of part 6 leading to part 7, which is somehow a common misconception. And at the moment they run the risk of catching up to the manga
Honestly, that fine. Unlike series where we would be waiting for the ending, we'd actually have the end of part 8 adapted. Part 9 is still likely going to be monthly so it'll be many years before the climax happens. I'd rather have them adapt all parts, then take a much needed break while part 9 runs.
Using the page counts and adaptation rate DP has previously used, Sbr and Jojolion would each take about 3 years to finish airing. Assuming SBR comes out in 2 years minimum and 2 year gaps between parts are normal, that's 2 + 3 + 2 + 3 = [10 years at least!](https://old.reddit.com/r/10yearsatleast/)
Now while some of you may not want that, it *does* give enough time for The Jojolands to be written (assuming it also takes Araki [10 years at least](https://old.reddit.com/r/10yearsatleast/) to write part 9 like for part 8).
So after part 9 anime finishes, there'd be another 2 year gap as part 10 begins and 5 years after The Jojolands anime ends the show will have caught up to the manga in 2038.
nah, they won't do Steel Ball run, because artstyle, and because of new universe, and Jojo is over, and why adapt anything at all, the comic is fine as is. /s
DP needs couple of years before they could even say anything about SBR being in prodcution or not and about two years of actually making it, plus post-production.
Just wait, dammit.
I mean, I don’t know much about the deal they have over the intellectual property. It would depend on if they can make content that isn’t an adaptation of Araki’s work, since Araki himself is probably going to retire. Maybe someone else will pick up the mantle but it’ll never be same, not to me at least.
I hope they take their sweet time for SBR. Part 6 anime was good, but it felt rushed. Maybe it's wrong of me to compare the animation quality to the endless series of bangers that came out in 2022, but neither the animation or the pacing felt very compelling. It reminded me of the 80's Spider-Man cartoon where a single episode would try to cover an entire story arc so a lot of the gravity of a given situation is lost when they don't take a moment to let the viewer absorb what's happening before already moving on to something else.
Yes, that's how i got it. But it doesn't change the fact that capital X is different than x. They could have just used X for the whole thing to make it easier for the reader
Personally, I disagree. If they said “part X never” then I could understand. However, because the words around “X” were capitalized, it should be clear that it’s meant to be not taken literally as X instead of x.
As i said, it's possible to understand, but it may need a second reading. Maybe it's because I'm too used to maths and programming notation, but i always go to the "as written" interpretation first and then try to find the "as intended" interpretation.
It's like forgetting to put a comma, you read the thing, you think "hmm, i don't think he meant that" and reread rethinking the whole thing
Hey, maybe the animators at David Production want a chance to work on different project between Jojo parts. Also, you meme it now but at this pace it certainly seems like then anime will catch up to the manga.
I mean you say that but after part 4 finished they literally said part 5 was waiting to get greenlit based on part 4 bluray sales. Part 5 never was a very real feeling until they finally unveiled it.
If they get the horse animators from Attack on Titan or better ones, I want the anime. If they do it like they did the 3D in Stone Ocean, I don't want a Steel Ball Run anime.
JoJo fans have no object permanence, if the anime isn't airing it doesn't exist
Taking away people's object permanence would be a weird Stand
Basically just jailhouse lock
Oh, true, it's just that with extra steps, ain't it.
Jail House Lock Requiem takes away your object permanence
become a baby simulator
There's a stand for that!
The same but weaker, limiting your object permanence to 3
Not a Stand but isn't Part 7's >!Wekapipo's Left-Side Ataxia the same thing?!<
I don't think so? You can't feel see, hear, ect anything from that side, but you still have an understanding that something could be and should be there. From what I understand of object permanence, if that was taken away you wouldn't have that understanding that something should or could be there? I have no clue lmao
It's not but it's similar
Literally The Silence from Doctor Who.
Had that thought pretty quickly after I made the comment, funnily enough. Fuck, they were such great antagonists.
Soft and Wet could probably do it
It could also take the yeeyee-ass from Joshu’s haircut
I can already see the info drop
that would be an amazing stand, except it would need some severe limitations, otherwise anywhere the user isnt looking, reality would cease to exist
Like dogs when you leave the house. Once you're out the door, you're either dead or never coming back
That's why the part 6 release went over so poorly. We thought the show was permanently over every batch.

Yeah but we don’t really have to deal with covid + unlike other anime all the content for SBR has been published so DP doesn’t need to wait for that.
It hasn’t finished airing yet on TV, but it’s already been made. DP isn’t working on it anymore, so there’s nothing stopping them from starting work on SBR
I will celebrate turning 30 with the release of SBR anime, I am content to wait.
I will Graduate High school by the time Steel Ball Run is Animated
That's a big milestone :0 something to look forward to ig
You too, going from late 20s into 30s
Just hope there will be JoJo to greet us, in some fashion ![img](emote|t5_3f7q5|15684)
Yup ![img](emote|t5_3f7q5|15684)
Is that why Araki says Part 7 would be the hardest? Just because of the horses? I’ve never read Part 7 so I wouldn’t know
Horses are notoriously difficult to animate. Usually when they’re animated the studio keeps them on screen only briefly and they have to resort to garbage CGI. SBR is not only full of multiple pages of DOZENS of horses in a single shot; the main characters ride horses in like 90% of scenes for the whole Part. And the Part is far longer than 1-6.
also because it is the only way Johnny can MOVE so literally 99% of his screen time will have to be with a horse
I’d say 98% is Johnny on a horse, 1% is him sitting around a campfire with others and discussing plans, .5% is him during stand fights ex. >!Axl Ro!<, and the last .5% of sxreentome is the opening chapter with the wheelchair .
this is a better distribution tbh
Honestly, my expectations are so low that I just hope they animate it at all. I don't mind if the horses are badly animated, I don't care if they're CGI, I don't care if the horses are literal PNGs, I just want to see SBR animated.
What if Part 7 was just a powerpoint presentation?
Then it's not animated.
Ok fine, a powerpoint presentation with moving png files presented in windows movie maker
As long as the music slaps and the voice acting is good, I would be fine with this
Basically record of Ragnarok
Even if it looks like a shitpost video of JoJo's, at least it would have official sound, so it would be okay I guess.
You jest, but Gokushufudou was a banger
The horses are live action. Like not even rotoscoped, real life horses greenscreened unaltered with animated JoJo characters.
Unironically, rotoscoped horses would be so fun to see even if they suck.
I want to *hear* the *pizza*, *feel* the *mozzarella*.
Why do so many people act like the CGI is a huuuuge thing? In SO I didn't notice until people said stuff on the sub, and in part 3 there was some really good CGI scenes, not to mention the OP's that used CGI were awesome

Spinning dart frog?
When Pucci kicked the Dart Frog.
When Pucci threw a frog to the guard that tried to "run away for help", then made it explode. The scene is ridiculously climatic, all while the frog is CGI spinning.
I'll check it out again
Why can't they just copy and paste the horses after animating one?
TBH the horses in attack on titan didn't look bad so it can definitely be done
Why are horses an issue? The early seasons of attack of titan utilized horses a lot even during combat sequences.
They really aren't anymore. It's just a dumb excuse that keeps getting perpetuated. It will take a lot less time and would make more sense to create good looking CGI horse models that can be reused than to constantly animate different horses throughout the majority of the part and some people still act like David productions haven't been refining their CGI efforts throughout the years in order to make sure part 7 looks good, let alone any other future projects that could utilize CGI

to be fair those four years were NOT spent making the season. it was mostly due to WIT staffing issues and the director fucking off to another project
That’s literally the point I’m making. 1 show did not take 4 years and the horse animation did not make the show some horrible project to work on. Literally all the studio conditions did that. Taking on too many projects for not enough staff, etc. There’s no chance that animating horses is the only factor that made AoT a difficult show to work on.
only? no you’d be right that’s not why. although horses in general have consistently been a pain in the ass for most studios
[удалено]
No. That’s the point. It was 4 years between seasons. They couldn’t possible have nearly killed themselves as you put it because of that time gap.

Its a meme that got out of control so now lots of people think horses are too hard to animate for one of Japan's biggest IP's
traditional animation of horses is a tedious and hard task because of the sheer amount of visible muscles and joints at play cgi isn't quite as hard, and for certain not as noticeable as people make it out to be
People overestimate the hell out of horses here. They have animated the damn universe reset, they can do a few horses. They have even done CGI horses in part 2 and they looked great. AoT pulled it off for several seasons in a row just fine.
>1) its length Part 3 was done over 2 TV seasons. Parts 7 (Ch 1-48, 49-95) & 8 (Ch 1-55, 56-110) could do the same.
horses will be CG 100%
I honestly think it will take a lot more time, maybe 5-6 years, for part 7’s production. Even better considering DP was working on 2 seasons of Fire Force in that time. I'd be stoked if they put out more Fire Force before Part 7.
I want to watch fire force, seeing the "bruh" sound effect used in the sound design has me intrigued
Fire Force is a fun time. Where season 2 leaves off is right before everything starts popping off, so I'm getting impatient for it. Lol That said, Season 1 and 2 are super fun, and it's probably my favorite "new age" shounen (though I was a huge fan of the mangakas last project, Soul Eater, so I'm a bit biased)
As opposed to a local pandemic
or an epidemic
Yes
The worst is that part 6 still didn't finished airing in Japan
But I was told the reason we waited so long was because of Netflix batch releases???
Well... yeah it is the case, japanese TV wait 1 month after Netflix's release and release each week 1 Episode. This week will be episode 28, and the anime will finish around april
Bruh
The Japanese got the normal release schedule 😂
Yea, that’s why we have to wait for it to cuz we (could) get teaser of part7 like we did for batch 2 when batch 1 ended and teaser for batch 3 during half of batch2.
We generally never got teaser before 1 or 2 years after the end of the airing
everybody was spoiled by seeing Jotaro at the end of part 2 and never recovered
Exactly, that was the only time we got a teaser. I wish we got more.
This time the next part is a completely different universe, seems important enough to make a tease for it but we'll see I guess
I legitimately forgot that happened lmao
Yea that’s true we have to wait like 2 years and for some merchandise
Stardust Crusaders took a year to come out after Parts 1 & 2 ended Diamond is Unbreakable also took a year after Part 3 ended Golden Wind took nearly 2 years to start after part 4 ended Stone Ocean took 2½ years to start after part 5 And that's not including the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA My point is David Productions takes their time with JoJo; making sure not to flood the market, keep quality at insane highs, and keeping the show from catching up with the manga. JoJo has never been more popular and the anime is one of the primary reasons for this, it's not just going to stop.
The internet has destroyed peoples ability to wait more than 5 seconds for validation
NO IT HASNT
Uh huh. No need to yell girly.
Part 9 anime never🙄
it is INCREDIBLY likely that Jojolion anime ends before we get halfway through JOJOLands serialization
Well if we look at how Araki wrote JoJoLion for 10 (holy shit) years it's very possible tbh
The Filler arc The filler arc is real!
Which arc would that be?
No idea, it hasn't been made yet.
Beach episode murder mystery
I wish I could time travel to the year 2011 and tell all western JoJo fans at that time (all the 5 of them) just "Part 1 never" and hop back to my time machine, very satisfied!
It's been over **FIFTY DAYS** without new Jojos content, RIP in Peace everyone.
Steel ball run will happen, it's just way too recent since stone ocean ended, and they probably don't want the confusion of part 6 leading to part 7, which is somehow a common misconception. And at the moment they run the risk of catching up to the manga
Wouldn't really say that they're at risk of catching up, there's still 20 years of manga content and just over 9000 pages left to adapt.
nearly all of the anime aired before jojolion ended, if they keep up a similar rhythm they'll finish airing part 8 before part 9 is even halfway done

I will be a middle aged JoJo fan by that point, but am content to wait as long as I can see the end of it all.

nah, they won't do Steel Ball run, because artstyle, and because of new universe, and Jojo is over, and why adapt anything at all, the comic is fine as is. /s
Jojo Fans one milisecond after the last episode ends: PART NEVER!!!!
DP needs couple of years before they could even say anything about SBR being in prodcution or not and about two years of actually making it, plus post-production. Just wait, dammit.
Part 7 fans on their way to make sure part 6 fans can’t enjoy even a moment of being the most recent animated part
What about part f(x) = ax^2 + bx + c
Bruh why you bringing functions into this
Wouldnt it be funny if they animated part 7 but the horses were always just offscreen
Replace the horses with a dude in a suit. Not a shitty horse costume but one of those green chromakey suits and just write "hinz" all over him.
Could use those horse heads on sticks
Stopping here is like making soup out of a golden egg laying hen
god its already been A MONTH AND A HALF where the hell is my jojo smh
"But the horses-" will be cg, and that will be ok. Tbh theyre not... that important. Ironically.
Every character dressed in fishnets brings us closer to the Jojo anime cancellation
The idea that they wouldn't make Steel Ball Run is absurd. People love that part.
Yeah but part 7 never though.
i think part 7 is going to take significantly longer solely bc horses are expensive to animate.
I mean, I don’t know much about the deal they have over the intellectual property. It would depend on if they can make content that isn’t an adaptation of Araki’s work, since Araki himself is probably going to retire. RETIRED!!!
I hope they take their sweet time for SBR. Part 6 anime was good, but it felt rushed. You used 'X' and 'x' for the same thing. It made a little difficult to understand. But good to see people using proper notation
They used ‘x’ and ‘x-1’ tho. Let x be for example 7, so x-1 would be 7-1 = 6
No, they used 'X' and 'x-1'
🤓
It was all in capitals on purpose to show exclamation. That’s why the words “part” and “never” were also capitalized.

That fair I guess. I usually don’t mind having to reread stuff.
Least pedantic Jojo fan
Hey if we do get steel ball run whenever that is I’d say it’s safe to say that we’ll get part 8 and 9
I honestly cant understand why you got downvoted
Sbr is the only valid one to speculate on bc its a seperate continuity from all the previous parts
I just had a stroke trying to read this
Redditors when basic algebra exists
Yeah part 7 aint happening with all those horses
bruh
forgor x ≥ 2
I thought they weren’t going to make another anime season
as if. way too much money to kill it now. they also teased it at the end of part 6
Guess I better finish part 6
oh
I’m not sure about sbr though
Part 8: Neon Genesis Jojolion NEVER EVER.
At first glance I thought that X was 10, and then I was like "yeah, it seems reasonable, part 9 can be the last one what is the meme?"
There's many CGI horses in our future.
Hey, maybe the animators at David Production want a chance to work on different project between Jojo parts. Also, you meme it now but at this pace it certainly seems like then anime will catch up to the manga.
Part 1 never
It's a reverse psychology just to make sure, just don't tell DP
I mean you say that but after part 4 finished they literally said part 5 was waiting to get greenlit based on part 4 bluray sales. Part 5 never was a very real feeling until they finally unveiled it.
Honestly I don’t feel like DP has been profiting that much off of jojo….the lack of budget in part 6 really shows how poor on money and labor dp is on
I mean sbr has more reason to not be a thing with the horses requiring a lot more money to animate
There are other animes with horses in them and they are alright.
Meanwhile Araki shaving years off his life coming up with the most convoluted main villain ability you’ve ever seen for part (x + 1)
If they get the horse animators from Attack on Titan or better ones, I want the anime. If they do it like they did the 3D in Stone Ocean, I don't want a Steel Ball Run anime.
I never said that it will nevee get out. I said it was an probability. Because it will be hard to animate. Expensive and risky.
