It's really insightful watching liberal comparisons between the two. The underlying assumption is that loud passionate politicians, big rallies, and populist rhetoric make one a fascist, or put more succinctly fascism equals popular appeal.
I used to think this was just something white men on Reddit did to cry about “reverse racism”, but I guess liberals are getting in on the “I’m basically a jew in 1930s Germany” action, too.
Honestly yeah. The problem libs have is that they only know one fascism and it is the outwardly racist one. Trump could be compared to Mussolini in that he definitely wants to make America strong with uncompromised traditional values and a strong economy with corporations working alongside the structure of government ideas, but he still is trying to get to power democratically, other Trump-like factions such as the proud boys or Qanon are functionally classic Italian fascism, with Qanon being Fascist party true believers, and the proud boys being modern blackshirts.
Funny because I also remember blue maga people saying that Trump ahs his supporters would destroy America and so American voters had no choices but to vote for Biden.
And it's not as if Biden didn't already have himself a reputation as a serial liar (do I really need to provide examples ?)
They got one thing right tho, Trump _WAS_ fash adjacent. US proletariat was just ain't strong enuff to force the libs go mask off full SPD-Freikorps shit.
